shocking delivery service from empire house, used this firm before ,no problems, not waiting nearly 2 hours, excuse after excuse, on the plus side the food has always been good

Have had take away from Empire House for decades. Always lovely hence our Chinese of choice in Witham. Sadly it seems to have changed hands and gone too has the lovely food. Have just had our 3rd takeaway under new owners and THE worst chinese curry I've ever had; watery, tasteless, anaemic looking chicken floating about. Gone the lovely thick tasty curry that used to be served. This is 3rd meal that has not been very nice (was mixed dishes ordered last time) so I will be going elsewhere. It's a shame as nice staff, but just can't stomach the food they're sending out.

The food is now of poor quality and cold, with very little flavour, I have been going for years to the takeaway and the last two time have been very disappointing, not sure if been taken over or new family members now running the business but since they changed the staff it has gone down hill and will not be going back again, this is a shame as was a really good takeaway.

Worst takeaway ever… we called For delivery to be told would be 45min 1:30min later still waiting…. When we called they said the driver was in his way…. Further 20min they then called back to say he was running behind…. Very rude when we called To discuss will never order again

Poor quality of food. Mixed curry had hardly any sauce in it and I asked twice to check plenty of sauce as the last time was poor. Pancake roll was too greasy and cold. Been going here for a long time but won't waste my money here anymore. Don't know if there's a new chef or changed hands but not good standard of food.

Ordered a takeaway and the food was amazing, good value for money, plenty to choose from on the menu. We ordered it before going to collect it so we didn’t have to wait

The two lovely men in this shop came and assisted when we broke down outside. They spent so long trying to help fix and replace our burst tyre, and let myself who is pregnant and my four year old daughter sit inside the shop. They wouldn’t accept any payment for helping us for two hours!! Food was lovely and staff were amazing. Thank you so much!!!

The food at the Empire house take away is always amazing, occasionally we will get an order mistake but this is rare and we learned to check whats in the bag before setting off home. Would very much recommend

been here since june 2018 disappointed all other places that do deliver food was excellent dealt well with just how we wanted things and offered 3 types if proper char siu only bad thing they dont deliver collection only will definitely be a regular

Such good quality Chinese food, and ready within 10minutes. All delicious and can’t fault any of it.

Offers a good range of food. Will take orders over the phone or in person. Food is very good although I must say I would prefer to place order then visit "fish and chip shop" for the chips. Unfortunately chips from this chinese venue are usually very soft and soggy. Otherwise foods are tasty and moorish.

Good food,quick service,reasonable prices,and nice people running the place.lots of choice and set menus,offer something for all.

Wouldn't buy Chinese from anywhere else, they are the best, food consistently good and very tasty and excellent value for money!!! highly recommended

If you fancy a nice Chinese meal please avoid the Empire House! The food wasn't fit for our dog let alone us! Tasteless MSG food ... never again !!

My vegan partner and omnivorous self were very happy to find a take-away in Witham that we were both very satisfied with. I am even happy to order the fixed Veggie menu for 2, it is excellent value and I love their Tofu in black bean sauce, so tasty - and I normally hate tofu - plus their pineapple & cashew rice is the best! They always throw in a bag of prawn crackers & numerous fortune cookies, which is a nice touch. For meat eaters, their lemon chicken and sweet & sour king prawns are the truly wonderful with very generous portions (does me 2 meals) 😀😀😀

we ordered takeway for the 3 of us. to be honest we have had better takeaways. the food was hot and we didnt have to wait long. we were all disappointed we had promised my daughter a takeaway and she was not impressed with the quality of the meal.

Best Chinese in town! Order over the phone and it's ready to collect in 10 minutes!! Food is always hot, free prawn crackers every time. Wouldn't get Chinese anywhere else. 😊

We called in and ordered a take away on our way home from visiting family. Once i placed our order i only had to wait a max of 5 mins which good as we were both hungry. They the was up to its very good standards and still piping hot when we dished it up. This is only the 3rd time we have used this chinese as we did use another one near by but glad we made the change and we will be using Empire House again on 23rd December as my daughter wants chinese for her birthday meal.

We ate here the other night as we have just moved to the area. The food was fantastic and all very tasty. The only slight downside was that the lemon chicken was only warm rather than hot but all the other dishes were great. Top tip - if your hungry get a portion of the chicken balls there's loads!!!!

This Chinese takeaway does THE BEST food and I would never choose any other Chinese, even though I sometimes wish they delivered? It's still always worth the small drive to collect. I have very very rarely caught them on an off day and due to the fact of how often I've eaten there, I can only assume they very very rarely have one. I recommend this takeaway to anyone from anywhere, it will get 5 out of 5 any day from me

Always good food and easy to order; collection only for those of us that live out in the sticks. This take-away is also good value for money; food always well prepared and tasty.

This take-out Chinese restaurant has hot, fresh food and quick friendly service. The Special Chow Mein is full of beef, chicken, shrimp and vegetables, very tasty. The order of Chicken Balls is huge, go hungry.

We tried this takeaway and really enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend the Singapore noodles. The food was tasty and good quality

Have always loved Empire. Consistently good and.very tasty. Crispy chilli beef and spare ribs my favourite. Always quick service and nice and hot.

After using 3 other Chinese restaurants in the area, I visited empire house on the back of the reviews on trip advisor. Very impressed, fast, friendly and efficient. Food was great, not greasy like others in the area and the area out the front was spotlessly clean. I've been back twice since and both times the service and food have been as good as previous visits. Parking can be difficult but that's not the restaurants fault. We will continue to use empire house in the foreseeable future.

One of the best take away chinese restaurants in Witham. Have been using this place for years withe the previous owners and the people there now. Never had a bad meal. Always good service and quick to get your order ready.

Probably the best chicken balls in town, always crispy and light, and they dont go stodgy with grease when they start to cool. They also added lots of extra garlic to one of the dishes whn we asked.Its just a shame thy dont deliver, tho not surprising, theyd probably then get to many orders!

Great price, always 100% spot on with their food, is the tastiest Chinese in Witham!They don't deliver which is a shame, but its worth the drive. Call up and order and most times its ready in ten minutes. Is making me hungry now just thinking about it!
