UK Fish Bar in Braintree

UK fish bar has gone downhill of late, used to be really good here, but prices have shot up, £27.50 for 2 portions of cod & chips!! Will only consider eating here as a special treat in future, no longer viable to eat here very often, same for all chippies in Witham really. NB dont use the food delivery companys, they will charge you an extra £5 at least, even this shops own website gives you 10% off your order, but the prices are up 10% already!

top tier kebab, best kebab around . Highly recommend to anyone in the area, piping hot and melting on the tongue. missing out if you don’t try this place. Staff are top class as well, always on top form.

Absolutely class scran, you best believe I devoured the battered sausage like there’s no tomorrow. Food is absolutely scrumptious, id lick it up again any day!

The delivery driver let himself into our back garden and knocked on the back door. He didn't even try to knock on the front door and the restaurant didn't let us know our food was out for delivery. Our back gate has a lock on it that is closed at all times due to the fact we have dogs that will push the gate open and go. The driver put himself in danger as the dogs are extremely well trained to protect the family as we have multiple young children and people have attempted to break in before. I get that walking round to the front of the house is longer but unlocking our gate and walking to our back door is an invasion of our privacy and safety.

Ordered at 7pm...its now half 8. Still hasn't arrived. Paid £3 delivery for what?

This is the 2nd time the food has been nearly cold , and my chicken was overcooked and very dry .. service has not been great lately

Chips were cold, and diddnt taste that good, halloumi was also cold and pitta bread had a really bad smell to it

I paid for a large bottle of Fanta and only got a small can. Sausage in batter was hard.

Food arrived early but the doner meat was hard and the chilli sauce I ordered was missing, really disappointing.

Food was awful. It was as though the chips had been sitting there hours, the sausages was dry and the fish so full of oil, it actually made me throw up. Complete waste of money, and would never order from there again!

I ordered sauce, for my partner to then have with his meal. The kebab then came completely smothered in sauce, meaning due to allergies I could not eat it. When I called the place, the woman stated ‘we’re busy, what do you want me to do about it’ and if I’d ordered before, then I’d know the sauce comes on top. No solution provided, stated they’re too busy to deal with it. Waste of money, will not be ordering again. Disgusting service

Our delivery was over 1 hour late , the chips were just about warm .. the fish was ok .. very disappointed . I had to call the restaurant twice to find out what was happening .. 1st time they said it was in the way .. 30 mins later still no sign .. was just about to cancel when it turned up . We would have refused the delivery and asked for our money back but we were all hungry and it was too late to order from somewhere else

Absolutely beautiful piece if battered cod. The food was nice and hot, both there fish and chips were delicious 😋. As a takeaway meal this is in thetop 2. Would definitely get a takeaway fro UK Fish Bar again and highly recommend 👍.

Love the Hawaiian burger from here, absolutely delicious, have had other dishes previously (also delicious) but keep going back for their Hawaiian, food is also lovely and hot which isn’t always the case from other takeaways

Before confirming order delivery time was estimated at 30 minutes, however after confirming order it was 90 minutes. I think ordering dinner at 7.30 should not mean it arrives at gone 9 o’clock.

Was 20 mins late , even though pre ordered

Normally good and don't get me wrong the food was nice but just got my order and no salad or chilli sauce with my chicken shish so had very boring kebab.

Normally really good but tonight, I had vinegar tasting garlic mayo. Off salad, all slushy. And my garlic mushrooms well you could squeeze the oil out of them. So disappointed.

Had donor & chips. Awful. Meat was such bad quality I couldn’t eat it, ate a few chips and threw the rest away. A rip off too.

Food wasn't worth what you pay. Curry sauce didn't taste of anything. Burger salad didn't seem fresh was slimey and nasty. Gives you the option for salt and vinegar but can't taste any. For what I paid was disappointed

The food was nice, very tasty. It made for a good meal. No complaints about the food. The pricing was very expensive. E.G. £3.50 for a savaloy. Its the most expensive order from a Fish and Chip shop we've ever paid. You're a Fish and Chip shop in Witham Town highstreet, not a gourmet resturant.

Lovely food and delivered early aswell

Food quality is only marked down due to the chips being stale (heated up from lunchtime). However, service & delivery time were far better.

No salad with the Donner and chips, pricey for what it was. Nice flavours.

smallest large fish Ive ever seen for £11, chips were overcooked & all food barely warm. when ordering said 20-30 mins once placed was over an hour & a half.

Took approx 2 hours for our food to be delivered. The lady in the phone just kept saying it was 5/10 minutes away.. When it eventually turned up good was cold and items missing.

Nothing but amazing honestly! I can’t believe how amazing they always are in there! We never ever have an issue our foods amazing every single time, the staff are just the absolute sweetest people ever!! We don’t go all to often but when we do we’re always so happily greeted!

2nd time ordering and both extremely happy with My family all enjoyed it Good sized portions. Very Quick delivery both times. Tasty and fresh. Large Fish is a nice big size, lovely crispy batter and plenty of fresh cut chips.... Definitely would recommend. .

Chips were clearly cooked yesterday! Kids burger was burnt!

Chicken wings were inedible? So spicy, they burnt my mouth?! Never been like that before? £20 for Luke warm chips, a small pot of curry sauce and wings I couldn’t eat! No way near the usual standard!!

We normally have great food from here. Tonight the chips where a funny colour and the burgers had a strange taste. It was all warm not hot. Ashame as we love the fish bar normally.

Last night my son made an order for 3 adults. 2 x cod lrg chips 1x saus chips. Not a tricky order. Hey!!!???!!! We received…. 2x cod NO chips!!!!!! 1x saus chips!!! Had to call. Now I don’t know about you but I don’t like to eat a meal in separate segments, nor wait until the chips arrive and keeps being disturbed too boot! That’s not all. Paid for large chips….. received regular. So not only were we inconvenienced!!!! We were robbed by the owner. You would expect after that, that the OWNER would give something complimentary, would you not?!? Not rob you!! This is NOT the first time UK FISH BAR have done this!!! Poor customer relationships!!!! Not good for business whatever your name is.

Lovely food. Arrived earlier than expected, estimated 9.15-9.35 and it arrived at 9.17. Portion sizes are very generous and it arrived burning hot. Will definitely order again

Food was cold when it arrived. Rock Eel was over cooked and the fish inside batter was dry and tasted like it had been re-heated. I have ordered food from there before and always pleased, but tonight, it was horrible.

On time but long wait food was good that's the main thing

Twice we have waited for these cowboys for our food. First time was two hours, blaming driver issues. We ordered on just eat with a minimum of a £15.00 order. Then an hour passed, then called them and they said they could not deliver as it was only for £15.00. Can we order a minimum of £25.00. After an argument they delivered. Second time, giving them the benefit, an hour passed, and then we called, bearing in mind this time we had an order of £25.00. Girl said she had cancelled the order and said she had left us a message. No message was left. If you live outside Witham, beware of these cowboys. We will never use them again.
