The best restaurants serving Chinese food in England

I'd passed this place for years, next to a laundrette in what is perhaps not the most attractive area of town. By visuals I'd been expecting a real old school dirty British Chinese takeaway style place of the sort of place you might haven seen in the backstreets of northern towns across the country decades ago. But don't judge a book by its cover etc. Nice enough decor inside, its a sit down table service place and the food is actually pretty good quality.

I honestly believe that if we hadn’t actually gone into the shop (reluctant to as it was packed and no one was wearing masks) to ask where our food was I think they’d still be in making it? Rang up. To be fair. They said they were busy. A good hour and half later still no food. This place has simply nose dived in terms of the service and food. I kid you not. It was literally stone cold when we got it the 3 minute walk home. What happened to it? It used to be good service and tasty food? Steer well clear unless you order several days in advance. Actually. Just stay well clear. Awful awful awful!!

Lovely Schechuan beef, jasmine tea steamed rice, ate outside facing interesting street. Very convenient location too. Would definitely go back.

I don't like to write a bad review but ordered a munchy box and it was horrible and a waste of money. Full of sugar would not recommend sorry.

Our absolute favourite Chinese in York. The only thing we've ever had that was less than stellar was a slightly watery Thai red curry so I wouldn't bother with their Thai stuff. Everything else across probably 30 visits has been outstanding. Bear in mind it's cash only, collection only.

Excellent takeaway last night. Delivery was spot on time, good for a Friday. Friendly staff and best food for a long time. Highly recommended.

這家中式快餐店很久之前已經路過，一直都想試下乾炒牛河 考完試，打算去食慶祝一下～ 老闆是越南人，但講廣東話 他說 平時餐牌上既fried beef noodle 是用生麵而不是河粉 河粉會黐鑊，又要新鮮，唔放得耐，所以平時不會有...... 但我想是同聲同氣的關係，又因為疫情無乜客，再見我跟他說我特意來試乾炒牛河....他竟然特登炒俾我 T_T 好好食！！！我問是否用英國牛，他說不是，用丹麥牛，真的很有牛味T_T 他還特意問我要否辣椒油😭😭😭 如果想食，要預先跟他說好讓他河粉 還不可以在午飯最繁忙的時候點呀～

Delicious varied menu with well prepared dishes and generous portions. We had a takeaway as staying in a nearby b & b. Staff were helpful, meal ready quickly and well packed in double bags.

We tried this chippy as we normally order online , this establishment is immaculate , and the food was excellent , the only due side is you have to pick it up yourself 👍👍

TheMeal was a absolute Joke, The special chow mein came in Two Containers, these containers were half the size of normal containers and the containers were only half filled, the container with the so called Vegetable's and meat was a joke, There were two king prawns, two small pieces of beef, two small of pork, and one piece of small chicken, 4 half’s of mushrooms and one sweetcorn and the rest was mainly onions, these had clearly been counted into the half full container, the boiled Rice is the smallest container I have ever seen, this was certainly not value for money and I would never go here again,

The noodles tasted old and not fresh. The vegetables were raw, the chicken balls were all dough. Frankly this was the worst Chinese takaway I've had in my life. Awful. Do not buy from these charlatans.

Muy buena comida y servicio a precios muy razonables. Tomarán variaciones especiales en el menú sin problemas. si no quieres un mensaje, no hay problema. Al cocinero le gusta hablar con los clientes, lo que lo convierte en una gran experiencia.

¡Soy un habitual! Comida para llevar muy asequible con comida sólida, un gran equipo y me encanta la combinación de comida china de estilo inglés y comida cantonesa.

We had a takeaway from Oliver’s last week which was delivered to our home. The meal was delicious, but we were charged £1 for delivery, when on their website it is advertised as Free delivery on orders over £15 within a 2 mile radius. I checked the bill later on and saw that we had been charged £1 for delivery even though the meal was over £15. As we only live about half a mile away I telephoned to query this and was told because the price of petrol had gone up everyone was now being charged £1 for delivery. I don’t mind paying £1 but I should have been told this when I ordered the food and they shouldn’t advertise free delivery on their website anymore. We have used them many times in the past and have never had any complaints before. This is why I am only giving them 4 ****
