The Crispy Duck Takeaway in York

Our absolute favourite Chinese in York. The only thing we've ever had that was less than stellar was a slightly watery Thai red curry so I wouldn't bother with their Thai stuff. Everything else across probably 30 visits has been outstanding. Bear in mind it's cash only, collection only.

It's a takeaway but food is fantastic the crispy shredded pork or beef is gorgeous so is just a plain chicken curry and the salt and pepper wings are yo die for

We ordered beef chowmein and special fried rice. They tasted ok but the amount of meat in each was pathetic. Maybe a small table spoon of meat and no more. Lots of rice - very little meat, then 95% noodles and just a very measly 5% meat. Not worth the money !!

Got a takeaway here last night based on the 4.5 trip advisor. All in the party felt the food was very bland, beef like leather. Honestly say its the worst Chinese I have had.

I never write reviews but I can promise you now crispy duck is the best Chinese in York, I love the crispy battered chicken balls and the chips are so crispy just how I like it the woman is very kind also. Highly recommend:)

The Chef, Xi, is amazing, I just lové it when he makes my supper, I don't eat meat but his fish and vegetable dishes are wonderful, especially his mushrooms with veg in an amazing sauce, i could live on this, his sweet and sour fish and veg dishes are also wonderful. I feel very lucky to know this guy and his takeaway!

So delicious. Had a family takeaway and there was something suitable for everyone (including the vegetarian). They even gave us a couple of free beers for my dads bday. Will definitely order from here again soon.

First class nosh I ordered my usual sweet and sour prawns in batter Superb by far the best I have ever had The tails could have maybe been taken off My lass had duck curry Portion sizes are amazing, we are both sat here like hippos 5 stars from me

I refuse to go anywhere else! Excellent every time I've been. The chow mein is better than anywhere else.

Good food though wish they'd shred the duck! Very tasty and was ready in 15 minutes. Mates loved it, good job its my local chinese.

Have always loved this place but just had a vegetable curry and found a lump of chicken in it. Haven’t eaten meat for 16 years and have just been spiked. Will never eat here again.

Just had 2 curries Ribs and crackers and I must say they were the best curries we have had in the whole of England yet my daughter said the ribs were very tasty but just a little tough.

Our favourite. Generous with the meat, tasty sauces, nice variety of dishes, friendly people on the counter.

Got a meal for two and some ribs. The meal was very disappointing but not as bad as the ribs large bones and a lot of fat well be finding some were else for takeaways

There are Chinese take-aways closer to us but we usually use this one as the quality is the best we've found in the area. Reception is smart and clean and you can see them cooking in the kitchen from there. I really can't understand the 'terrible' review given when they admitted the food is usually 'lovely'. Seems a bit unfair. If you do use this take-away, they only take cash (unless it's changed very recently).

I have regularly visited The Crispy Duck over the last five years. It's better now than ever, fresh and tasty food with a delicious authentic flavour. Their bbq ribs are brilliant!

Just had two meals from here was horrible. The food was luke warm and the curry sauce had so much oil in it you could see it separating from the mix. This Chinese is usually lovely but tonight it was horrendous. Must have gone down hill. Avoid!!

Crispy Duck is our usual Friday night takeaway. The food is fresh, portions are great (the chips are the big fat proper ones and you get loads of them) ... they don't do deliveries but it's never a problem because of the quality & consistency of the food. A real old school kind of Chinese takeaway (if you get what I mean!!)
