Popped in as a family on a day out to York. Gorgeous food and extremely welcoming and friendly waitress.

Great Hong Kong food, really friendly server with good price range. The portions are pretty good too! Enjoyed the time here.

The taste is very good. It feels comforting to eat a meal from my hometown after traveling all the way. The beef noodles, pork ribs noodles and rice bowl are both good👍

Unfortunately I found a piece of plastic in the sauce of the beef brisket. The food was tasty but I would never order again, dread to think what tiny shards I’ve eaten.

I’m surprised by the amount of low star reviews. Super tasty, super authentic, real Chinese food. The food didn’t take long to come at all, and the waitress even gave bonuses. Not a complaint towards the food, but the menu should be downsized heavily. Pricing is actually economic for what I got, pretty similar if not cheaper than Maxi’s. Though I understand it’s pricey for takeaway standards. Judging from the reviews it looks like the strongpoint is authentic Chinese food. I’ll come again for CNY 😁 🥢

The service is fast and good. The food is ok, the tofu was chewy and seemed overcooked - I’ve had it before and it wasn’t. The other meals were adequate.

Great service. Greet food. Really enjoyed the vermicelli and the dumplings. Wouldn’t order the ribs again though. Not a lot of meat on them and they were coated in something I didn’t like. The rest of the food was delicious.

Worst chinese I’ve ever had. Taken nearly an hour and half, order was wrong katsu chicken was just coated in ketchup…. Unbelievable overpriced avoid at all costs.

the food was cold and soggy, the restaurant did not help when we rang up didn’t understand a thing we were saying, then we ordered the food at 4:45 and did not arrive until 7.

it was beyond doubt the worst food I've ever experienced. Stone cold dry and tasteless to cap it the carton that it came in didnt even had a lid fitted properly. Just over £20 but not worth a fraction of that. I gave it a one star rating purely because I couldn't rate it lower. I will never, I repeat never order from there again

Order accepted at 6pm arrived after 7pm as expected within the time stated, however is wasn’t very warm which spoilt the whole meal

Ordered shredded chicken salt and pepper and normal salt and pepper chicken and both were the exact same . Chips were cold and the curry sauce was like water. Not happy I spent £50 on the order.

Tasty food, polite and friendly customer service.

I honestly can not fault the restaurant. We really enjoyed our Halloween meal. The server was really sweet, attentive and friendly; the food was delicious and arrived quickly; the dining area was clean and tidy as always and the menu has lots to offer for the picky eaters and those who like spice and authenticity. The other great thing, and the deciding factor as to why we chose Regency tonight, is they are dog friendly and I didn't want to leave the puppy home alone with fireworks going off and trick or treaters knocking.

£70 order and didn’t even get prawn crackers

Ordered veggie spring rolls:got meat ones. Ordered a portion of pak choy and garlic (£11!): got a tub of watery chopped cabbage, not what we usually get from here. Food is usually of good quality, but this tasted low quality and obviously wasn't what we ordered. Was offered a refund for the spring rolls. Will think twice before ordering from here again.

Duck vermicelli Duck non exsistant only noodles none seen King prawn curry … runny tasteless Springer rolls x4 small chewy Would I order from here again NO My local is better value half the price stick to what you know !!!

Food was completely cold & inadequate for £30. The duck was on top of hiding lettuce to make it look like there was more! Never had lettuce with duck wraps ever! Started for 2 was only enough for one person. Complete waste of £30

Do not be put off by the appearance when you first step into the place. It is so misleading. Staff really friendly. Noticed no alcoholic drink on the menu. That was no problem to the staff. He popped to nearby restaurant and got what we wanted. Two course meal which was great. Will deffo be back

The waiter is rude. We ordered food and juices and then they said that the prices on the menu had gone up but the menu hadn't been updated yet and we had to pay more! absurd! this is exhausting! DO NOT come to this restaurant!

the salt and pepper mixed dish was not of good quality, the chips were fried in old oil and tasted bitter, the pieces of beef and chicken were old re fried pieces of meat and we're hard and very over cooked, it lacked the salt and pepper seasoning that is supposed to give it the flavour and kick. The special in black bean sauce tasted alot better.

Was a little worried what service to expect reading previous reviews. However, we received excellent service from all the staff there. Very polite and efficient, couldn't ask for more. The food was also excellent with good vegetarian options. The spare ribs weren't red hot, but everything else was spot on and really tasty. Would definitely revisit

We had a dinner here at Regency Restaurant, food starters and mains was very nice and tasty. We enjoyed it and will be coming back again. Tofu with salt and chilli is great starter to have :)

Food arrived very late and was pretty much stale cold, really disappointing and a waste if money! Would stay away of ordering from here! It had the potential of be nice but not edible due to going stale. Definitely wasn’t kept in a thermal food bag!

The food are likely to have the authentic taste but the service was a real issues here. Expecially the male staff. They literally threw the cutlery on the table and have very rude manner. I personally wouldn't eat in the restaurant again but instead I would order online and eat somewhere else.

You didn't ask, have you ever respected us? You don't have that. So we will pursue your opinions to the end.

Worst service I’ve ever experienced in the world. One member of my party eats only halal due to their religion so they brought their own food while we ordered at the restaurant. One of the male staff came over and said that outside food is not allowed, and that all UK establishments are like that. No one from my party is from the UK so we didn’t know and told him so. He walked away and upon return I tried to explain that he only eats halal and the worker then said “I don’t care, go let him eat outside then” while laughing mockingly. In the rain? At this point, my party got upset and wanted to leave. After seeing this, he said okay, he can stay. But our party told him that what he said was very rude and that he had a horrible attitude. Even while trying to say this he was still dismissive, saying “yea, yea, yea, yea, ok.” We were so disturbed, we paid and left. I don’t write a whole lot of reviews, but this experience was so jarring I needed to warn people from coming here. No one should be disrespected in the service industry- customer or worker. This place also had a sticker at each table offering a free soda for a review- I’m guessing this is where most of their “5 star ratings” are coming from. Please do not support this restaurant.

The servers and cashier (assuming they are owners) were very rude and had obnoxious attitude towards multicultural customers. The tissue and cutlery were casually threw at the middle of the table. The tab water jar was not properly cleaned. The male server (probably the owner) told my friend to eat his food outside because he could not eat food that is not halal. Very disrespectful towards other culture and religion.
