As a chef myself I can say the food was excellent customer service was excellent the choice is amazing

SATURDAY night 19 pm, all food trays are empty....

Greeted by some of the loveliest and attentive staff on our visit to York. The food was stunning especially the wagon steak that is cooked in front of you. The passion fruit martini is an absolute must and the attentive care of Sumeet and Abi meant we were very well looked after. The atmosphere was busy and lively with every aspect well looked after. The staff should be truly proud of themselves.

Amazing selection of cuisine and great value for money. Recommend to arrive with an empty stomach as you’ll want to try a lot of things! Dinner is more expensive but worth it for the live cooking stations, which are incredible. Great attentive customer service, thank you Sumeet S

First time in York and what a place to eat first. Fantastic food, atmosphere great very relaxed and family friendly. Service impeccable. Sumeet you know who you are 😊 Would highly recommend

Everything was fab except there was a hair in the salad station which was removed but the food left in the chiller.

Came in on the off chance of getting something to eat. Well by the time finished wish I had not found it. The food well cooked, nothing seemed dry, was yummy. So much choice, you will not have one of everything they serve. From Chinese to Thai to Italian and Indian. Plus British bread and butter pudding and custard..... Sumeet was our waiter. Cared and quickly dealt with old plates.

We have been to Pandia Mami York in February 2023 we were very impressed with everything. The same cannot be said for our visit on Saturday 8th February 2025. Most of the food was cold, when I mentioned this to one of the Guys serving, he replied it shouldn't be, and placing his hand on the pizza hot plate, not wanting to believe me. So I was left eating Cold Pizza and Cold Lasagne as my request to put them in a microwave was not what he wanted to do. The Dessert Selection was really nice , but most of the Hot Foods were not, as they were not hot or even warm, although my friend said her Chinese and Indian Food in the small pots was hot and enjoyable. But 2 out of 3 of us were disappointed We got 10% off the Bill, of £96, but felt this was not enough.

Absolutely! Fantastic food the duck here is something els it unbelievable food then staff are great to can't help you enough I will definitely be booking again normally it's the desserts that are fantastic! But it was the food it's self here like I said it's unbelievable and thank you alforna good night

Great place, always returning customers. Buffet has a wide variety and everything is so tasty! Love it here. Full of flavour, English, Chinese, Indian lots to choose from. Staff very friendly especially English man in blue and white stripy shirt called Christopher.

We have eaten here today as a birthday celebration treat, the choice of food was very poor everything was empty when we asked for more food we was told it would be 15 mins it was more like half hour and it had only bn open for a hour and the members of staff was rude there was 1 chicken dish and 1 beef dish this is the worst restaurant iv eaten at all the food was cold and dried up

We went for a birthday celebration treat for my sister… there were very limited dishes available, everything was cold, most of the dishes were empty and when we asked for some refilling we were met with hostility from the staff. Really horrible food, lack of variety, honestly not worth the money

I never post reviews, but I have never experienced something like that. Food was cold and not cooked enough. When told the stuff that undercooked dish is dangerous for health, been told that is cooked. Come on

Wouldn't recommend as went in for dinner, which they charge more for than lunch and majority of the food was cold and the pots were half empty and dried up as if it was food left sitting since lunch then started to reheat as they shut in-between lunch and dinner, we went in at 5pm when they opened back up and hardly anything had heat to it which makes me wonder how long it had actually been sitting there.

I been here many time and all the time I really enjoy, the food it is great, tasting from all sea food dishes to feel the flavour 😋 with the new management looks better and taste better The service and staff are great 👍 I really recommend It is something else then the other restaurant's, opportunity to taste different things How likes the sea food are many varieties for everyone

I recently visited Panda Mami and was warmly welcomed by Javier, who provided outstanding service throughout our visit. The food was absolutely amazing, fresh, delicious, and with a great variety to choose from. Everything was cooked to perfection Kailey also did a fantastic job, ensuring we had everything we needed and making our experience even better. The service, food, and atmosphere were all top-notch. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be returning.

The food is really good. All kinds of meat/seafood/chicken/vege . There is fruit/ desires/coffee too and much more. Stuff is superd, especially Kailey and Javier 👌👌👌

I came back after a while and the quality of the food has changed HORRIBLY for the worse. Empty and dried out food. I will never go back there again .

We celebrated my friend’s 21st birthday at Panda Mami and both the food and service was exceptional. The staff brought out a lovely birthday cake to help us celebrate and our server Sumeet was excellent!

The food is great. There is plenty of choice of different types of cuisine. Lots of friendly helpful staff, we were served by a gentleman called Sumeet who was friendly and helpful. We had a great experience and will come again for sure 🙂

Fantastic atmosphere with one of the best vegetarian selections I’ve seen in a while. The food was fantastic value for money and the staff were all amazing. Huge thanks so Sumeet and the rest of the team for their incredible work.

Less choice than last visit. Hot food not presented well, and not very tasty compared to my last visit which seemed to be better than this visit. And still sitting waiting for plates to be taken away when finished the dish. Don't think I'll be back for sometime. Needs a lot of improvement which I hope they do, and not just ignore this.

Plenty of different foods to choose from. £24.99 evening prices for all you can eat. There's plenty for all tastes from pizza to Indian food.

Have been a few times as local. Most recently, went in mid-week (well within their lunch hours) They advertise lunch between 12-3 pm. Sadly, upon arriving at just before 2 pm, we were immediately told that the kitchen was closing soon. Around 2:35 we were then told the buffet was closing, despite still having plenty of time remaining. I understand if it's quiet, and there's an urgency to get people out to set up for the evening - but if you advertise 12-3, then you should be serving buffet food from 12-3. It isn't our fault you want to get a move on. Staff are great, I will say that - but just understand that if you advertise your opening hours don't be surprised if people want to come in during those hours and eat your food. Bit disappointing. Food is mid to good depending on what time you go, evening the food seems fresher (probably as its renewed more often)

Lovely meal, something for everyone and my little boy affectionately called the pudding section the 'chocolate factory'. All made even better by the wonderful service from our waiter Sumeet :)

Amazing food and so many options. However, I didn't like how the waiting staff asked us if we were finished with our plates when I know most places don't do that . We sat on table 5 and it was quite wobbly as well it started to get busy but I understand you can't really do anything about that

Absolutely amazing meal, went out with my partner and my brother for a spontaneous trip to York and we were struggling to find somewhere to eat. We got recommended this buffet and when I tell you it was absolutely delicious, with a huge variety of foods so that everyone can find something they enjoy. Our server was absolutely amazing as well, very attentive and polite. I didn't catch her name but we were table 3 on 21/01/25 1pm-2.30pm. She was wearing a pink t-shirt if that helps. 10/10 place, worth the money

A good All You Can Eat, where you can enjoy various dishes of international cuisine.

It is very difficult to locate. There is no direct information as to locate it. No direction to it, no where to park to even locate it. We moved from another city in England to locate it but we couldn't even find a place to park and locate it for over 30mins so we had to go back

For the price the availability of food was amazing, all fresh food and warm. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was refreshing with all the staff smiling and being kind and very helpful explaining the way everything works for me and my partner. Will definitely be coming back when we come back to York.

It could have been our own fault choosing to visit on a Sunday evening. We arrived at just after 8pm. All the staff seemed more bothered about cleaning than serving. We were told the buffet would close at 9:30pm. But by 8:50pm things were being removed and not replaced. By 9pm things were being taken away and hurriedly put back as we approached. Not one thing had been made fresh while we were there. Shame but I guess understandable, 10% discount was given but at £60 it’s still expensive for the quality and service we received. On paying we were told they don’t cook usually after 7:30pm. Wish we had known. The food seemed ok but would have been much better if it wasn’t old (be careful to visit during busy periods). The restaurant was absolutely freezing too so anything you brought to the table became instantly cold. The service gets 3 stars because halfway through our meal someone turned up with a portable heater to put next to us. Picture included. It helped keep us warm. Thank you. However I’d argue that in any restaurant heating should be a minimum requirement. Why was it turned off? I’m guessing like the food. Time to go so turn it off. Not a good experience at all I’m afraid. Won’t be rushing back. There are so many other good local restaurants. Choose wisely.

My partner and I went here on a Friday night This is a great buffet spot. They have Tandoori, Sushi, Asian, and more! We had some of the sweet and sour chicken, Tikka Masala, Black Bean, and so much more lol. The servers were great! They let us know how it worked, quickly removed our used dishes and checked on to make sure everything was ok. Sumseet was our server and they were our amazing! We had a great night.

The place and service is ok. I arrive 1210, when the food had just come out but it's all cold or luke warm at best. This makes the food pretty awful. Also the restaurant is generally cold as well. If the food was warm, then £16 for a buffet is ok, but not when it's cold. Disappointed

The food was ok but a little cold, the service was fine but it's mostly self service being a buffet, but the whole place was really cold. It's difficult to judge for the price as it's still really cheap for lunch.

One of the better buffets I've eaten at in the country yet, for variety, flavor, and the grilled meats. When you order one of the hibachi items, it's not a tiny piece of meat like you get somewhere else! I got 3 whole squids for a single order of squid 😄 and they don't let the pancake for the crispy duck dry out either, which I thought was a nice touch. You can see where someone was conscious about the quality.

Absolutely loved it here. Food was unreal, so many options for food. I’m gutted there isn’t one near the north east but I would definitely go back here if I’m in York again.

Plenty of choice from mixed quisines good price especially if your on a bit of a budget after fancy meals out 2024 Visited again jan 2025 The building was very cold Service for drink was quick as very few people in the place Food choices were very restricted mainly chinese based 3 Indian options 3 Thai 2 pizzas A few noodle and rices sides No fresh cooking stations No dim sum No chocolate fountain Desserts were cheap jam tarts or mino Swiss rolls with a bit of cream squirted on top Most of the food was either tepid or cold Left feeling very dissatisfied Even the new lower price of £16 did not feel justified And they must have had a few complaints as now you are not asked if you enjoyed your meal at payment

I come and live in the North-East, this place is definitely the worst buffet me and my family have experienced!! Food was warm,meats not cooked enough in there own spices, the desserts are not even original, I am that disappointed after pay 97pounds for 2 adults and 1child for CRAP !!! . We ended up going to a,takeaway and that was much better an alot cheaper. So no will never go back to this place

We have been to Panda Mami in York every year for the last 10 years and always loved it and looked forward to our next visit. This time however the food was cold, mostly empty areas that they took ages to re stock, the salad area was very empty all throughout our visit, there were numerous items not re stocked, very disappointing, there seemed to be no leadership from anyone to make sure things were done. We left and now wouldn’t go back again, which is very disappointing and sad for a restaurant that was so good.

This is your typical Chinese buffet. Food was good. It was a busy Dec 26 when we went, the staff struggled a bit refilling empty food pans from the spread. Overall not bad.

Friendly atmosphere, my children loved it, such a good verity of foods to choose from. Left feeling full and happy.

Absolutely appalling service was told we need to be quiet when asking about a reduction as they decided to close early this by the man in charge. Only to be told there's on 40 mins left and when checked the food there was only scraps of food left. Five pound discount only We will not be returning there

An all you can eat with different types of cuisine! The food was really good with a lot of variety to choose from. I think I managed two plates but didn't get to sample the desert as I absolutely couldn't eat anymore. I did like the variety as I'd only been to Chinese all-you-can-eats before so it was nice to try something new. There's something for everyone and my two fussy daughters even loved it and ate loads. Would definitely go again.

Pleasant place to eat, lots of food, always refreshed rapidly and a good range of foods. Namrata served me and was very nice.

Really good service, the stuff was really kind and attending, especially Sumeet and one of the female managers, who really attended to us. Food is nice, the duck and honey pork really good, broccoli and green beans cooked lovely!!
