Great experience at Panda Mami. Nice staff and tasty food!

A great place to eat and get full, have a nice fast and chat. Try different dishes of different cuisines. The entrance fee depends on the day of the week and the time of your visit. In the photo for more details. Today (it's Wednesday) and until 15:00 you can eat for £15.99 per person - for this money you eat everything that is there, and the choice is decent (different meats, side dishes, salads, sushi, meat with curry, soups, snacks, hamburgers, fruits, desserts, ice cream, jelly), in the evening the choice is bigger and there is a chocolate fountain, but drinks are paid separately at any time. Two non-alcoholic mojitos £8.40 1. This is very convenient if you are on a business trip and waiting for someone, and the weather is not very good, then you can't think of a better place. 2. If you are very hungry - no one limits you in food. Overall, my wife and I were satisfied, we will come again and recommend it to others!

Panda Mami in York is an absolute gem and easily one of the best buffet-style restaurants I’ve visited. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was welcoming and vibrant, and the staff were incredibly attentive and friendly. They made us feel right at home, checking in regularly to ensure we had everything we needed without ever being intrusive. But the real star of the show is the food – and wow, what a selection! Every dish we tried was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Whether you’re a fan of Asian cuisine, love a good carvery, or want to explore a bit of everything, Panda Mami delivers it all with exceptional quality. The sushi was particularly impressive, and the teppanyaki station was a standout – watching the chef cook fresh ingredients to order was a real treat. It’s clear that a lot of care and effort goes into every part of the dining experience here. Highly recommended for anyone visiting York – whether for a casual meal or a special occasion, Panda Mami won’t disappoint.

Friendly service and good price for all you can eat,drinks not badly priced either we were here on a Monday where there are drinks offers and on a Tuesday.My friend had a mocktail which she said was good I had a tiger beer.Literally this caters for everyone Italian,Indian,Chinese and British main courses with a wide selection of desserts to. I stuck to the Chinese food which was good some dishes were getting low and although the duck was very good there were no pancakes to have and it was only 7pm when we were in there and didn't see any dishes being stocked up.There were not alot of people there as it was a Monday so I imagine it is different when they are busy.Good value but the let down for me was the toilets not very clean and one cubicle out of three had toilet paper feel they should be monitored better.

Many years ago use to be a nice place to come here. Use to eat here 3 times a week 😂. Something changed lately. The food just looks bad , the food just floats in old sauces, just the image if that doesn’t look appealing. Its not a bad place to hang around but compared with “ Wings “ in Hull this looks like … Ordered a pint of beer , arrived flat …was trying to be nice and drink it ( 😂 no chance ) . Second came , same. Place and staff nice . But i will not recommend this place to eat .

Indian fusion looked very old chips wedges and nuggets were cold the sweet amd sour chicken was watery never eating here again only had 2 plates £60+ for me and my partner absolute joke even told management or who i think was management woman behind the bar who said oh well sorry. But the wait staff were so polite and lovely can't fault them

I recently visited Panda Mami for lunch. The staff was genuinely friendly, attentive, and quick to clear tables, which made the dining experience feel welcoming. The location is great, and the area was clean and well-kept, which is always a plus. However, I was quite disappointed with the quality of the food. It looked a bit tempting at first, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. The sushi options were especially underwhelming—mostly just rice and cucumber, with no actual fish There were no fish options at all. In terms of value, I don’t think the lunch was worth £17. The quality just didn’t hold up to the price tag. Overall, while the service and setting were good. Wouldn’t recommend it if you’re going for sushi or expecting value for money.

Food was very much average. The indian dishes were atrocious though... practically inedible 🙈 Staff were great. Just a real shame the food didn't match their attentiveness.

Overall it was a nice experience however what let the restaurant down was the fact that we were unable to order bottomless drinks because it was only available on a Wednesday, and there were times that there was nearly empty trays where the food was not replenished which made it look a bit untidy and one of the food heaters was not working. I would eat there again if they reintroduce bottomless soft drinks everyday rather than just one day and keep on top of the food and replenish the items in a timely manner

Why is everything so salty 😭 rice, chicken nugget, beef, everything, is, salty! It's like they decide to go for a salt day. I have to take a sip of water every time I take a bite. And finally I have to leave without finishing the food. Felt terrible

The place is below standard and not worth the amount paid. The food is nothing like the pictures — it's very little and of poor quality.

Went here about a year ago thought it was okay but nothing better than a bog standard buffet and actually some bad some. However they must be under new management as the food and service today were absalotuley excellent. The highlight of the meal was the grilled squid and shout out to the although a little intense, very helpful and happy seemingly GM who gave us excellent service! As far as buffets go if give it a solid 9/10 today will deffo come back.

Food was okay… but the staff seem rude, dismissive and not caring about the jobs or customer… no smiles, not really acknowledging that you are there.. this use to be one of my fav places but not anymore.. won’t be returning.. and not enough staff to keep up with food as over half the dishes was empty.

Whenever we are in York, we come back here. We are fun of open buffet style restaurants. Plenty of food choices from different cuisines. My daughter loves the chocolate fountain and me always go for chicken skewers. Plenty of Halal options. Today it was for the Eid celebrations. Our server Sumeet went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Excellent service. We’ll be back.

I just went on Sunday 17/3/25, after 5 o'clock absolutely horrible, the food was Cold and very little to none, cooked of squid was horrible, I'm not exaggerating at all? many reviews are fake, They're using old food, it's obvious it's from another day, I don't recommend going to spend a panny for horrible food, better ianywhere else .If you want to reserve a table, you have to enter your card on their web page and they will block an amount for you card. Do you really trust their site? I don't.! I'm never going there again.

Excellent value for an all-you-can-eat, above-average food for the price point and service was fast and attentive- we never ran out of drinks! The one glaring downside, is the desserts: almost all are store-bought (mini rolls, fruit tarts, puddings, muffins etc) and not freshly made as their slogan indicates "Freshly Prepared from our Global Kitchen", and not many taste great at all. The rocky road is just marshmallows, cakes are stale, and the various flavours of puddings are tasteless jellies. The best of these for us were the bananas in custard, which was one of the few 'made' items. Which is a shame, since the chef's are very capable of creating flavourful food based on the mains- I'm sure that would extend to desserts if their workload permits it. The desserts are the only downside, everything else is worth a visit. Overall worth the time and money!

Me and my wife just finished eating at Panda Mami York. Nice location and quite big and spacious. However, poor service and huge disappointment. The Chinese food at the back were all cold and some of the food were finished and not replenished. Raised concern to the Chef and the guy at front desk, Chef was not aware. Won't go there again. Spent £60.23 Certainly not value for money.

Came for a birthday dinner with friends and family. I was not disappointed! Fantastic food!! Wow. So many selections, and everything, I mean everything was fresh, juicy and full of flavour! I've been going to Panda Mami for a while but unfortunately my last trip was bad. We just had starters and my daughter decided to have teriyaki chicken skewers. We waited a bit as expected but when the chef was about to pass it to my 9 year old child, one other chef stopped him and told him the smell of the chicken wasn't right so they went and pick a new batch. She eat it and then decided to have the beef BBQ teriyaki so again... We ordered it and my partner thought it was too dark to be beef and co firmed with the chef which he replied it was the marginated that made it darker.... we then asked no sauce or spices to be added. As we went to picked it up we noticed the skewer had some kind of guey honey like dip and sesame seeds when we asked to be just plain. My daughter eat a bit and complained about the taste so we smelled it and it was not a good smell. We asked the manager, having had the 1st experienced with the chicken, and the guy had the nerve to say he went to the station and smelled the meat and it was fine.... Someone that cooks, knows when meat goes wrong, which it wasn't all that bad if it wasn't the 2nd time, from the same station. We just paid and walked away.... Absolutely a no no for a next meal out which was unfortunate as we really liked the place. Manager didn't had a customer service hint whatsoever to solve the issue and just made us looked stupid and maybe thought we didn't want to pay.... Bill was over £83 for a 3pm meal for 2 adults and a child....

Been to one in Chester lovey but this one was poor York food been sat for a while the Indian meal were swimming in oil had to stir everything you got don't think I would go back

Came as a family of 3. Two adults and our 1 year old lots of choices at lunch time the restaurant was lovely and warm, we was seats very fast and our waitress ashelsa (i think that was her name) was very friendly and helpful definitely service with a smile 😃

The spacious area comfortably accommodated around 50 guests, plus other guests who came to dine,providing an inviting atmosphere for everyone to enjoy. The staff were exceptionally attentive and friendly, going out of their way to ensure that our needs were met throughout the evening. The food was not only delicious but also impeccably fresh, showcasing a variety of vibrant flavors from every continent that pleased every palate. To top it off, the dessert was a true masterpiece—visually stunning and enticing, it was almost too beautiful to eat. We thoroughly loved our time here and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a wonderful dining experience.

Love the Panda Mami in Chester so while visiting York decided to give this one a try. Went on an afternoon and was more than disappointed. Choices were far fewer than the Chester restaurant and many of the trays were either empty or contained remnants of the dish, what we did get was in most cases, warm at best. The desert selection (my wife's favourite) had 1 single slice of chocolate cake and a few other things with several empty spaces. The staff were friendly and said come back in 5 minutes, we tried a few times but with next to no improvement. Wouldn't recommend and will go elsewhere when next in York.

What can I say, it was a embarrassment. The food was horrible, literally just salt no taste, kids sticking there hands in the food. We had 2 drinks and 2 plates each came to £60. If the food was decent the price would be acceptable. Wouldn't give a starving dog that food.

One of the worst buffets I have been to around the UK! I can assure you that many other bad reviews on here tell the truth. Luke warm food, cold duck with warm pancakes, low quality, burnt meat skewers and non replenished food. Cold seafood fish that should have been hot.

It was okay but not much to brag about. Came here with high expectations but left dissapointed. Went on a sunday, it was an interesting experience with great staff but the food choice and taste wasn't great. Been to places with better choices with panda miami having mostly chicken options. The trays were almost always empty and barely being refilled. The sushi was empty barely being made. The desserts tasted powdery and chocolate options were barely edible. Overall dissapointed in the food. Ice cream wasn't available. The custard buns and muscles were good cant say much about the rest. Felt ill after tasting some of the dishes, like the puddings. But the staff were friendly and extremely fast to serve.

Greeted by some of the loveliest and attentive staff on our visit to York. The food was stunning especially the wagon steak that is cooked in front of you. The passion fruit martini is an absolute must and the attentive care of Sumeet and Abi meant we were very well looked after. The atmosphere was busy and lively with every aspect well looked after. The staff should be truly proud of themselves.

Very expensive ,all you can eat buffet. Not what it used to be

Everything was fab except there was a hair in the salad station which was removed but the food left in the chiller.
