Oliver in New Forest

We had a takeaway from Oliver’s last week which was delivered to our home. The meal was delicious, but we were charged £1 for delivery, when on their website it is advertised as Free delivery on orders over £15 within a 2 mile radius. I checked the bill later on and saw that we had been charged £1 for delivery even though the meal was over £15. As we only live about half a mile away I telephoned to query this and was told because the price of petrol had gone up everyone was now being charged £1 for delivery. I don’t mind paying £1 but I should have been told this when I ordered the food and they shouldn’t advertise free delivery on their website anymore. We have used them many times in the past and have never had any complaints before. This is why I am only giving them 4 ****

This Chinese was recommended to us, although others said it was only ‘OK’. The website for this place says they are open to 11.00pm and it states “Feel free to browse our online menu, unfortunately at this time you cannot order online, but do call us on xxxxxx for collection or home delivery”. It also states that lunchtime food can only be ordered by phone. So we arrived late last Saturday for a week’s holiday and about 10.00pm went to order food for the six of us. My husband went in with our order. ‘No you cannot order in person’ he was told, ‘Only by phone’. It does not say that anywhere. So he went and stood outside and rang the restaurant. He could hear the phone ringing and the girl was standing right next to it – ignoring it. He rang a couple more times and the third time the message switched to ‘We are now closed’. This was nowhere near 11.00pm and it was a Saturday night. What an appalling disregard for customers. A big thank you to China at Lees who took our order and the food was very good.

...I’ve certainly had better! Whilst staying in the area I searched for a takeaway with good reviews. Was a bit disappointed to be honest. Very average food. The fat in the fryer desperately needs changing as the prawn crackers were a very dirty yellow!

Ended up here by default after we were let down elsewhere and I am so glad we did. One of the best Chinese Takeaways I've ever had.

Staying in local area and looking for a takeaway. Googled for a Chinese and found Oliver. Fantastic service, delivery time and excellent taste. In fact best Chinese we have had in a long time. Highly recommend.

Ok so The large egg roll was lovely, as were the prawn balls, the Singapore Chow Mein was nothing special..... The issue here is the English girl on the desk and who answers the phone! She is totally clueless. The website shows the Chef on it so I asked her about him but she knew nothing and had not even seen the website. My order came to £14 and I wanted prawn crackers which she was about to add on, totalling £16, but I had to ask her how much I needed that spend to get free crackers which was only £15.... she was simply not assertive enough to work out she was ripping me off - either that or she didn’t care, I find this really annoying! She needs desperate training!!

We are locals and tried ordering a delivery for the first time. I ordered at 6.30 for a 7.30 delivery. I phoned at 745 to find out where the food was and was told that because they had a lot of orders our food would not arrive for another 30 minutes. Can we have a discount I asked...no but you can cancel. We did cancel but think the customer service was despicable and will never use them again. Please do not use them they do not value your custom obviously.

Best Chinese I have tasted in a long time. Food was absolutely delicious. Definitely recommend! Much better than the other Chinese restaurants in town. Wish I had found you sooner!

The service was friendly. They were able to deal with our food intolerances and the quality and quantity was excellent.

Was on holiday for take away on the first night and had to come bk 2 days later as it was that good. It's not the smartest looking place but it is the tastiest

Absolutely fantastic service beautiful meal, cooked fresh would recommend to anyone while family loved the email thank you ever so much from the guys at Oliver keep up your amazing service and thank you for an amazing meal. The quality of the ingredients and the care with which they are prepared stands out at this very friendly takeaway. Some Chinese caterers buy in such things as battered balls. Oliver does not. They prepare them fresh and the difference is apparent. My tip is to try the Oliver Rice, which is a huge portion of rice sharing a container with a little of everything including their top quality king prawns and a tasty 'gravy' sauce.

Very friendly staff. They deliver food in time and delicious as always. The menu for two is literally so sumptuous that is enough even for 4 people.

Very very best around always on time at 6.45pm when i order. The chicken curry is the very best you will ever taste. great service and very friendly staff.

Después de visitar este llevar muchas veces, mi compañero disfruta tanto que visita regularmente. Dice que el curry de pollo es la mejor que él ha probado, también tengo en ocasiones tuvimos una comida de aquí y he de decir que si no has probado, entonces debe ser sin duda en la parte superior de la lista para hacerlo. Siempre educado y amable, nunca hay que esperar mucho. 6,45 en punto.

El Oliver probado es hace unos meses y tengo que decir que su comida es siempre coherente, sin duda los mejores restaurantes chinos de la zona. A pesar de que la tome del restaurante no es muy moderno por favor no dejes que el exterior...

Hemos tenido unas cuantas comida para llevar de entrega de Olivers - entregado por mujer simpática. Siempre ha sido muy contentos con la comida, en especial el plato de pato que tenía la última vez! Volveremos otra vez

Got my take away home to eat, only to find one container had leaked and everything was swimming in soya source. Then went to eat the Peking duck to find the onion and cucumber missing ! All this when nobody else was there when I put in my order, so hardly busy.Went past later so decided to tell them. Unbelievable reaction. They aggressively told me I must be a liar or why was I telling them only now and they could not possibly be at fault or make any mistakes. There are other Chinese in New Milton that I am told are better, so I would try them and avoid this one,
