Golden Stir Fry in New Forest

The lady taking the order was nice. The food came out quickly and was good. As an American visiting the UK for the 4th time I was used to my fiancé getting us Chinese at a different place, but it was closed for their holiday. So I don't have alot to compare to as Chinese is a bit different in the US. The other place my fiancé goes I do like a little better. But this place was still good. The atmosphere is hard to rate as it is not an eat in place. But it is very stark and sterile on the inside. Not much decoration or color.

Food is always good here, would 100% recommend

Went ages ago to try and get a takeaway, but they had absolutely no clue about gluten free food and pointed me to the grain free options on their menu. Grain free includes ALL flours including cornflour which is naturally gluten free, which I tried to point out to them since most Chinese sauces are thickened with it. Meant I couldn’t trust to get anything I could safely eat, a shame since I love Chinese food

I have tried all the Chinese takeaways in the area and Golden Stir Fry is far superior than the rest, the food is always plentiful and tastes divine, the staff are always friendly and when we have it delivered the drivers are always cheerful, we will not be going elsewhere anymore.

Food flavouring was nice, but quality and quantity was shocking !! Shredded beef was just fried batter with the smallest amount of meat to batter ratio iv ever had from a Chinese and the Hong Kong style sweet and sour chicken had the smallest and toughest bits of chicken iv ever had from a Chinese takeaway. This Chinese takeaway is one of the worse iv have ever had and won't be going back.

First time I’d used this takeaway I ordered crispy spicy beef and egg fried rice. Excellent 👌

Popped in after Rock the pier. The wait after ordering was so long and all you heard was the lady from the front desk shouting abuse at the staff behind the door 😩. Then man before us in the queue was so vexed at the wait time, when he got the food, shouted to the staff, he would never come again 😩 When getting home to eat the food, it was poor quality and the meals were tasteless, greasy . We have had takeaways all around the Waterside and this has by far got to be the worst experience ever.

This is a Chinese takeaway. Quality of food is average, portions are quite small and we would not recommend.

we have never had a bad meal from the golden strip fry . where we have had a delivery we have bin giving a time and normally it comes early friendly and helpful staff I would recommend a visit

Excellent quality food at a good price

The worst Chinese take away. Ordered Crispy Chilli Beef to receive a tray half full of uncooked onions and some cold crispy beef. Never going back

House special curry and normal chicken curry basically the same. Sezchuan, if that's spelt correctly, was awful. First time, and the last. Won't be back.

Always enjoy the food from here, never fail to provide quality food in generous portions.

This place doesn’t look much from the outside but the quality of food is fantastic! We always get great service here and I’d recommend it as a great Chinese takeaway.

Poor quality, raw chicken satay as you can see in the picture. Been coming here for years but slowly declining in quality while price goes up. Will be looking for another takeaway !

Awesome honey ribs and veggie spring rolls! I've always gone in to order and pick up, and they've always been super quick!

4 out of 5 for food. Always use them, but more recently 2/3 out of 5 for delivery time. Last time I waited over 2 hours! They used to deliver really quickly, second time now delivery was well over an hour when they said 45 min at most. Shame cos such a good chinese...but end up booking with happy family as quicker delivery. Awesome food though ....can't fault them on that:)

A little disappointed that after spending over twenty pounds there were no free prawn crakers! Also some of the food was cold. This has never happened before, oh well must just be one if those days, hence the four stars. Normally always piping hot and delicious. One of 2 in the waterside area that are decent

I have been ordering from this Chinese for a few years now and I can’t fault them. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Delivery and waiting times are the best they can be. The food quality is excellent, I’ve never once had an issue with anything I have received. The food is that of a classic Chinese, it is always cooked perfectly, lovely and hot and the taste is excellent. The thing that keeps me loyal and returning often is the great range of vegetarian options available. I’ve been vegetarian for 8 years now and have struggled to find anywhere that matches the options available at Golden Stir Fry. The usually vegetarian mains are just vegetables in one of the classic sauces, nice but quite boring compared to the meat mains. Golden stir fry have excellent faux meat options for vegetarians. My favourite being the sweet and sour mock chicken, another incredible option is the vegetarian crispy duck. All perfectly delicious and always keeps me coming back. The menu is also perfectly labelled with all allergens which makes finding suitable dishes for individuals very easy. This Chinese for me is flawless and I urge other vegetarians to try it out.

Food Is good but trying to get hold of them over the phone is awful. Tried for nearly an hour once so decided to go down and heard the lady behind the counter saying she's stopped answering the fone cause she's been busy.

Fast delivery, reasonable cost, the food was tasteless and bland, three different dishes and we couldn’t tell the difference, to be avoided

The wait is very long 1-2hours. The food we order is usually really nice, how ever this time round we was given meat instead of vegetarian, which is fine mistakes happen but the staff denied it was chicken and the girl on the phone was so rude! For this reason we wont be going back.

We had a lovely takeaway this evening. Ordered on a Wednesday night at just after 5pm & arrived in 35 mins 👍 all dishes were delicious & hot. Great sweet & sour, I'd recommend the Tom yum soup which had good amounts of tender seafood & mange tout & a new discovery was the Thai pancakes, really tasty & crispy outer shell. The best takeaway I've had for a very long time.

Really disapointed, having used this takeaway 5+ years and always recommended I am very disapointed with the service tonight... waited over 2 hours for food and when I contacted asking where my food is I was informed it was still being cooked and would be out to me soon depending where I lived. The lady who is usually so polite was rude, sarcastic and very condescending. Won't be returning again.

It's a real shame, I have always rated this Chinese as great quality and officency. However tonight's experience has been very different! Timing is a massive factor when having the treat of a takeaway and I don't expect to wait well over an hour for my food, I wouldn't have this at a 5 star restaurant let alone a takeaway. I hope they can improve on this

Good grub. This is my first choice for a Chinese in the area.

This has to be the best takeout in the area by far. It’s a little bit more expensive but all the ingredients are fresh and not frozen and they lady who takes the orders is a native English speaker so there isn’t any confusion with the orders!

After trying all the take out Chinese restaurants in the area, this is by way the best, the only problem we find is that when they are busy the food can arrive a little cold, obviously they do a delivery run in bulk so you may be first made and last delivered, but we just make sure our plates are warm before it arrives and sorts that problem for us.
