Chopsticks in New Forest

Horrible. This place smells like a musty church hall, still has covid plastic screens, cash only. Chicken curry was grey and tasteless, pancakes rolls were made with really thick batter which was soggy in middle and dripping in grease. I should have known whatbit would be like when I called the order in and she said ready in 5mins.

It’s with a heavy heart I write this but Unfortunately we stopped eating our dinner because of its bad quality, probably the worst take away we’ve had.

First visit in 25 years. Tania still lovely, shop pretty much exactly as it was in the 90s, including no beancurd so limited veggy options. Food was either lovely (the chilli chicken) or not very nice (the foo yung). Gutted the neo-geo isn’t working, fancied a bit of NeoSoccer 98!

When in area always will use Chopsticks over any other. Tanya's "homemade" pancake rolls are legend, large pasty size items of mixed Chinese ingredients, not the usual mini processed ones you get elsewhere. Delicious hot or cold. Note: No delivery and only Cash

I cannot understand the rave reviews for this place, one of the worst Chinese takeaways I’ve ever had. The portions were pretty small, everything tasted of the same oil as though it had all been cooked together in the same pan, and I have no idea how they manage to get food to be both greasy and dry at the same time but they manage it. It’s not even that cheap so really no excuse. Would not recommend at all.

Just had the best pancake roll ever. Jam packed full of meat and bean sprouts. Plus no oil dripping down my arm. 100% recommended. Very tasty.

All food is near its sell by date from Asda in there every day three times a day getting all the discounted meat and vegetables also dose the same in all other local supermarkets so basted on this would never eat there

Decided to try this takeaway this evening as we couldn't get through to our regular place. What a let down my sweet and sour chicken balls were so overcooked they were like bullets and my partner's chicken curry had 3 different meats in it. No wonder we were their only customers

Food quality is excellent, service is amazing, exceptionally friendly and price is fab for the quality and amount you get, highly recommended. In all the 30 years of having very regular takeaways from Chopsticks, I can honestly say we have never ever had a bad meal.

Disappointing to say the least. Ordered my favourite meal only to find they had put large tough pieces of chicken and meat through the noodles and not added any seasoning or spices. Is this cut backs. It wasn't a cheap meal.

Love it! Best Chinese especially for the simple stuff like sweet and sour chicken balls. No Chinese has ever lived up to it (and i've tried a few!!)

If you're like me and aren't too adventurous with food, then you'll love this place - i get sweet and sour chicken balls, egg fried rice, beansprouts and prawn crackers every time and no chinese has EVER lived up to it!!

This is an OK place for a quick chow mein and rice. If you want to order a bit of a feast for the family, probably not. We have had a quick take away here and it has been fine. Cooked quickly to order, friendly staff, reasonable prices, well used by local people. However, we also had a family feast here that showed it's limitations. Each dish broadly tasted the same - OK, a bit greasy, but it was hard to tell one from another. Not for me, not again, because the competition in the Main Street of Totton is better. Family House and Magic Wok both excellent and there is another a couple of doors down I haven't tried yet, plus two more a short distance away.

Myself and my husband love this Chinese takeaway, it is by far the best in Totton and that is saying something as there are quite a few!! We always have the same thing of chicken curry and chips for my husband and chicken curry no onion with boiled rice for me with a side of vegetable spring rolls. The curry is always very tasty and they don't mind omitting the onion in mine as I am allergic to it. I don't find this curry hot either which is good otherwise I would not be able to eat it. It is perfectly spiced and the chicken is always chopped generously and is tender. The chips are always cooked perfectly with a hint of golden brown not just warned through and left pale like a lot of takeaways now. The vegetable Spring rolls are always nice and crispy. This takeaway is cash only no card payments, the shop is always cold inside with an out of date games machine that doesn't work, parking can be a challenge sometimes if you want to park outside as it is located in a dead end. However the food is the main focus of the visit and we have never had a bad meal yet.

Well that says it all. Their chicken chow mien is gorgeous. I've been drawn back for years. Very good crackers and mini spring rolls

food isn't that great. Chicken in chicken curry dish is very fatty and slimy. Egg fried rice is not nice.

This Chinese has been in business for years and there beef curry is the only one I can eat out of all the Chinese takeaways in Totton as its not too spicy or hot for me it is bearable. However with that in mind it is a bit of a let down on appearance as the curry is always watery and the meat is always the same shape and size meaning it could be reconstituted meat instead. The beef curry is not very beefy it is more vegetable and the boiled rice sticks together when removing from the packet which is wrong it should be light and fluffy. The decor is seriously out of date and is not at all welcoming especially with an 1980's arcade machine in the corner which is never on! Can't say much for the service as it is ok never had any problems.

The best Chinese in totton by far

Having been a customer for many years, unfortunately I have strayed away due to the menu being limited and unchanged in at least 10 years that I am aware of. The food is good, but there just isn't enough variety which is a great shame as the owners are lovely people and happy to cater for your requests.

If you expect authentic Chinese food you'll be disappointed but do lovely king prawn/chicken or pork balls with sweet and sour sauce....like mini Yorkshire puddings for that worth 5 stars!

Okay menu at reasonable price. Service can be a bit unfriendly and decor could do with a refresh!
