We always have good food from New Wongs, chips can be hit or miss at times but usually decent and you always get a mountain of them. Prices are on the high side for a take away but it’s always busy so must be worth what you’re asked to pay.

Had the fish & chips. Good service and meal. Staff were friendly and did a good job. Walked in when busy and it was a reasonable wait.

Had fish and chips and also a vegetable curry with spring rolls. Both meals very tasty. The fish was cooked to order and was very fresh and fluffy. Price was good too.

This take away has what i would describe as below average edging towards not nice food taste, the beef strips are tough as though they are weeks old and could not eat them at all, i would only eat here if i was desperate for food and i try and avoid.

Food here is always great. I like that it is "chippy chips" with your Chinese curry rather than the rubbery chips you usually find in a Chinese takeaway. It's best to go down as can't often get through on the phone, it's always worth the wait

I used wongs garden for the first time last night and I was really disappointed, I ordered satay chicken, the chicken was like rubber and it didn’t taste like peanuts atall, I also ordered 2 portions of chips which were completely undercooked, a small plain sausage which was just bland and horrible and batterer cod, my partner said the batter was soggy, really gutted as we were so excited to find a Chinese that also did fish and chips

Hey no deliveries,was visiting ,locals bundle in for take away on sunday. Staying at burgate farm .15 min walk but food hot and delicious .fun place for a banter ,most people phone in and collect .super efficient, staff were friendly .....love .

We had a big takeaway order while in the area to celebrate a birthday. Unfortunately we tried to phone it through on a Friday evening but the phone went unanswered So called in. Was very busy which is a good testimony. However, the food took an hour to come out. It was delicious though once we got it home. Would be 5 stars without the long wait.

Great Food by far the best in the area. Very friendly staff including a young lad taking orders who is always very efficient. Can be very busy and we've had several times when we've been unable to get through.

I have been a customer here for several decades. The food has only got better! I've tried the Ringwood takeaway and New Wongs is MUCH better. Fresher. Better flavour. You can watch the chefs cook (if you peek around the corner). I honestly and truly believe this is the best Chinese food I've ever had outside a gourmet London establishment. Chow mein, perfect noodle size and plenty of ingredients. Egg fu Yung? Layered egg and a good amount of broth. Ribs? Sweet but not sickly. The batter on the king prawn balls is perfectly done and crispy without being too oily (a certain amount of oil is expected and desired). I will probably be eating here my entire life. I came here with my father in the early days of its opening and I'm yet to find a standard takeaway that can out do them! Order early as they are (rightly) very popular.

Visited Here whilst staying at Sandy Balls Holiday Village - absolutely delicious Chinese - we had various dishes as a family of 8 and all agreed it was one of the nicest Chinese takeaways we have tried, fair potions, hot and delicious food.

On holiday nearby and thought we would grab a Chinese. We ordered: Beef chow mein Chicken chow mein Mushroom chow mein Curry sauce Sweet and sour sauce spring rolls Egg fried rice Chicken with peppers and black beans sauce Chips and chicken nuggets Prawn crackers Cost £41 The food was delicious. Service was polite and friendly. Would highly recommend. It's a Chinese and fish and chips combo takeaway. No parking so had to park down the road. No problem.

Take away my husbands prawn chow main was excellent. I had a disappointing Peking quarter duck but one phone call today the owner listened and apologised and immediately offered to replace. Shall definitely give it another go

I’ve never been a fan of Chinese takeaways, but since trying the chicken Chow Mein here I’ve been obsessed! Definitely my new favourite meal! Always consistent, can’t fault it!

Kind people! We were visiting Fordingbridge over Easter holiday, after a long hike we were hungry without many decent shops for affordable and tasty food. The shop wasn’t meant to open for another 45minutes but this shop went out of the way to make us food. Super affordable, friendly and delicious food!

Wongs can be better than my last experience, which sadly was pretty awful food. They are generally OK without being fantastic. Let's see what happens in the future.

Had a Very nice Chinese meal at this restaurant we ordered a large order over the phone and it was all very nice would use again if in Fordingbridge

New Wong's Garden is another staple in the selection of our local Takeaways. They're long established and much loved in Fordingbridge. I remember enjoying their offerings as far back as the mid eighties and to this day ordering is still a treat. The food is great. Classic Chinese takeaway fare but not greasy, plenty of flavour and authentically cooked. The Kitchen Door is always open and you can often see your dish being prepared by the skilled Chefs at hand. I can safely recommend almost anything on the menu but am particularly fond of a good Fu Yung from here. A delicately layered Chinese omelette with a filling of choice. Mildly flavoured with broth. Friendly, caring and efficient staff who will often slip a parcel of prawn crackers into your order, gratis. Five stars for sure!

Disappointed with this place. First time coming here. When we called kept getting hung up on multiple times. When we gave our orders we were told they don't do satay sauce which I've never known a Chinese to not. He then said we could not pay on card over the phone which how would that even work? Anyways when coming to get the order they forgot the big bottle of coke we ordered and paid for and also no prawn crackers we spent over £50. Tried to call them to say what had happened but yet again couldn't get through. The food was average.

I ordered cod and chips for two then had a long wait. Small portions of fish were coated in thick batter that had an unpleasant flavour. The fish was rubbery and the batter oily, the chips had an unpleasant taste too. I can only assume the establishment is under new ownership as they had been highly recommended. Almost all was discarded, we then made alternative arrangements.

My godparents and I go here for takeout. Its the best Chinese food I've tasted service is always good. Sometimes they're so busy they can't answer the phone so you just have to go in and wait but even that's not a long wait time. It just shows how popular and delicious it is.

Great food, but please answer your phone, you are losing my business!

This easily the worst place I've eaten Chinese food. The satay sauce looked like thickened dish water with what I can only assume was chopped onion floating around in it and not 1 peanut in sight. The chicken with pineapple was coated in this thick gloopy sauce and to be quite honest was disappointing massively. Such a shame because I love Chinese food but this was poor really poor.

The fish and chips are a bit hit and miss, but the Chinese food has always been really good. The problem we're having of late, is trying to phone an order through. We have wasted so much time trying to get through and we end up having to go inside to order. This isn't ideal when there is hardly anywhere to park! Please answer your phone!

We had 4 meals for different people, on 3 different days. First class quality and taste. So 12 meals and every one was saying that there meal was very good. Well above average Chinese and chippy.

This used to be very good but we thought gone off the boil. Food was a little bland. Still very popular locally and parking is a nightmare at busy times.

Don't go here any more despite only living 10 yards away. Over salty food, failure on multiple visit's to actually get the whole order in the bag, even after complaining about items missing, two items missing from that very same visit and despite being told that they had double checked the order. The Jade in Salisbury is much better. Buy a plugin hot box from Halfords and enjoy decent take out food.

The food was bland. We were really looking forward to the Chinese meal but were so disappointed. We had a good variety of food but all of it was really bland. Looked ok but no taste, sadly, even the crispy duck was boring.

Had a takeaway from here while on holiday, good size portions and reasonable prices, I thought I’d have a spring roll with mine, when I got it, it was massive just like the ones I had when I was younger, not the sausage roll size ones we get back home.

We are locals to Fordingbridge Rockbourne and we have been a little undecided about this takeaway recently and after tonight’s meal we are definitely not using again The chicken satay was full of unedible chicken bits and was totally tasteless, full of slimy onion and the chicken tasted uncooked The vegetable chow mein was pretty tasteless as well Its worth it to drive to one at Ringwood instead Wont be using again I’m afraid

Ordered fish and chips for 5 along with curry sauce. Got onion rings thrown in for free and one of the chip portions went unopened due to the size of them. Hate waste but couldn’t help it as these portions were so large. Fish quite greasy but think this was due to being freshly cooked and wrapped immediately. Chips hot and fresh. Would recommend if you are staying anywhere near. Thank you

Bit of a wait for the food on a Saturday night, to be expected. But definitely worth the wait. Very enjoyable.

Whilst visiting the New Forest with family we tried to ring through a large order on Saturday night but were unable to get through so at 7.15 pm drove the short 5-minute journey. They were queuing outside and people were waiting for orders inside (socially distanced apart) and outside. We queued 15 minutes before ordering and waited 25 minutes for food. On a Saturday night at this time of night you can't complain about this and it was obvious the takeaway was very popular. The food was worth waiting for. Big portions and tasty. Highly recommend but ring orders through early or be prepared to queue.

Have tried their fish and chips several times and they've been consistently delicious. The batter is perfection, succulent and crispy. The cod is good, but not the same quality as you find in fishing ports like Plymouth or Newcastle.

Great food. Pity there are COVIDiots collecting their takeaways without masks, though.

Decent Takeaway. Staying nearby so checked out trip advisor as fancied a takeaway. Great as the kids wanted fish & chips and us adults got Chinese all from one place. Fast friendly service and great portion sizes for a reasonable price. We really enjoyed it all. Not being from the area you can never really tell what’s a decent takeaway but like the previous reviews it’s a good old fashioned local Chinese takeaway dishes which can be different to metropolitan Chinese restaurant dishes. Fish and chips cooked well too with a nice crispy batter. They take cash and card but it’s collection only. Menu can be found on their website.

Be aware that all food pretty much gets cooked while u wait so pretty pointless pre-ordering. That said it's usually pretty quick and always a tasty meal. No frills but you're not paying for them either are you? Takeaway only.

Lovely chinese food - kung po chicken was delicious!

Lovely and friendly place. The spring rolls were delicious. My family enjoyed all the other meals as well. Would highly recommend unless you are vegetarian or vegan.

Being away for a few days nearby we chose to get fish and chips to eat in the park and we weren't disappointed. We also had onion rings and pea fritter. All were very enjoyable.

We ordered through the phone and we asked if it’s possible to deliver since we are not locals and are staying in a BnB and the guy on the phone said that they do deliver and it’ll be 25 minutes. 40 minutes later we still haven’t gotten our food so we phoned up and asked if it’s on the way and a very rude asian lady said that we have to come get the food because it’s been there for 30 minutes and before I could say that we were told that it was going to be delivered she hung up. We then went to the place and picked up our food and they didn’t even say a thing or apologised. If they could’ve told us that they only do pick up and not delivery when we phoned then we would be happy to pick it up but they told us false information and made us wait for nothing. It’s a shame because the food was good but the service is just appalling.

We ordered through phone and the guy on the line said they will deliver to where we are staying though when it came to the time the order was meant to arrive it never did we then rung them after another 15 mins and a lady picked and was really rude saying are we going to come there or what , we were surprised said okay but you said you will deliver and she hung up on us. fingers crossed the food will be okay eeeee but yes really rude staff , shame.
