Happy Wok in New Forest

Lovely food , large potions are big enough for two. And the service was lovely. I had them delivery on a different day aswell and they said it would take 30 -45 minutes but they were at my door in 15.

Delicious as always our favourite Chinese takeaway. It's just a takeaway. They also deliver locally.

Admittedly we ordered early evening but the food arrived quicker than expected & was nice & hot. We enjoyed all of the dishes & the salt & pepper prawns deserve a mention, they wete outstanding.They were big & fresh ( not pre cooked)Also the Singapore rice noodles were excellent with no shortage of chicken & prawns in it.

Good portion of rice, the beef in black bean wasn't too salty like in most places, very tasty curry pork and the crispy chilli beef was still crunchy 3/4 of an hour after it arrived despite being covered in a nice sauce (assuming they fry it in potato starch?). The only negative about the food was the sugar in the smoked chicken. Delivery driver was a nice chap and the prices were much better than back home, would definitely recommend

Ordered food on sunday 28th July, the young lady that served us was welcoming and polite, we placed our order and the food was cooked quickly, after getting home the food was cooked really well and it was all hot and tasty, it was also good value compared to alot of chinese takeaways, i would recommend this place and from now on this is our go to.

Food arrived after 1 hr 15 minutes and was dry and overcooked, also tasted really salty. Really unpleasant. Did try to call an hour in and was told he was on the way but no apology was made. Really disappointed as only ordered due to the good reviews.

Ordered delivery. 22 minutes late. Lukewarm rubbish. Satay chicken no sauce. Unidentifiable lumps tasteless. Small portions. Prawn toast crumbs. Never ever use this sub standard place again I wouldn't want to describe it as restaurant. Insult to the name.

Been disappointed recently with the local Chinese restaurants available. We tried happy wok and had the best half duck to offer! Huge portion of nice crispy duck, lots of wraps and a large portion of cucumber and spring onion. 10/10 thank you!!

Very disappointing. The food was quite bland, erring on tasting quite artificial. It was also cold and didn’t seem to have been cooked to order; probably leftovers from an earlier order. We won’t be returning to Happy Wok anytime soon.

Looked this place up on the internet when staying in Lymington recently. Everything you would expect from a Chinese takeaway. Good price, good tasting food, free prawn crackers and a fortune cookie. Recommended.

Prawn toast was fried bread with sesame seeds very hard to find the taste of prawns Crab and sweetcorn soup was very bland and very little crab or should I say crab sticks sorry last time I shall use your service

Staying locally, wanted a Friday night Chinese takeaway. Food was very bland and did not taste particularly fresh. Sadly, we won’t be returning and will try somewhere else next time.

Their noodles are edible. Anything else is way too sweet and catered towards blander palletes (even dishes that have chilli next to them on menu).

Had a takeaway last night , all the food was very good especially chicken in batter , had it delivered to southfield park , in fact direct to the caravan were staying in ; it was a Tuesday so probably not one of there busy nights but still food was delivered with in 1 hour of placing the order . Used to go here regularly when caravanning at Bashley, some years ago,when the food was excellent. Just had takeaway and it was rubbish. Sweet and sour had no taste and the chicken bits rock hard. The chicken fried rice had three bits of cold chicken. Will never go there again. Very disappointed.

Had my first takeaway from Happy Wok last night (for 4 people) and have to say it rates as the one of the best I have had, by far the best since moving to the New Forest. The food all looked and tasted fresh, the flavours were amazing and the quality I could not fault. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

I always use Happy Wok to provide a lovely meal when family or friends visit. Every occasion the view is the same. Tasty. Best Chinese meal ever. Wonderful quick service and delivery 👏 Thank you Happy Wok xxxx

The food here is as good as it gets for a takeaway or delivery. Never had a wrong order . The only thing wrong is.. Chicken in breadcrumbs could be a little bit thicker cut..

Complete disappointment! Wanted to try this place as reviews were reasonable but what a disaster! Special chow mein was almost devoid of ‘special’ hardly any meat, prawns etc. The honeyed ribs were so dry and obviously so over cooked that they were inedible! Seriously won’t be visiting again or recommending.

Staying up in our caravan, I wanted something nice for dinner for my B'day, The caravan site owner recommended the happy wok. Take away was delivered on time, the food was hot and really nice, my wife really liked the mini pancake rolls. Very tasty take away.

Best Chinese in Hampshire, in my opinion

Staying on holiday, just tried the Happy Wok and was very pleased. Food was tasty, obviously freshly cooked and good sized portions. I recommend you try it! Food arrived quickly and hot, with friendly delivery driver.

Great portions at great prices my favourite Chinese in the area

I waited over 1 hr 15 mins for a delivery promised within 45 minutes only to find that the kitchen got the order wrong and the correct food i ordered - and was charged for - wasnt delivered and to add insult to injury, was lukewarm! . Upon contacting them i was given a plethora of excuses regarding delivery delay and, alongside an acknowlegement that the kitchen got the order wrong, no offer of a refund for not only items paid for and not received but for the inconvenience of receiving items i didnt order. Despite this abject failure the only recourse offered was a credit against a future order!! Seriously, why would anyone order again? I have previously ordered meals without issue but this cavalier attitude to a situation when liability for their own mistake has been made but no refund is forthcoming is unacceptable. This was a treat in an economic environment of rising living costs and to not even get the food ordered and paid for without offer of a full refund is unacceptable. Customer care is non existent here, use your money wisely and go elsewhere where your hard earned cash will be valued.

Quite possibly the worst Chinese I have had in my life. For 2 dishes, it took an hour to arrive, the delivery driver looked downright miserable. The food was lukewarm and the veg was massively undercooked. The black bean sauce dish and garlic dish tasted the same, both lacking any flavour and sauce was watery. Really shockingly bad. Never again.

Yet another amazing meal. Delivered quickly and everything was done to perfection. Well done Happy Wok and wishing you a Happy New Year.

Had another fantastic meal again from the Happy Wok New Milton. Our visitors liked it so much they are going to order their Chinese meals from you in the future.

Disappointing that twice now they cannot be bothered to delivery to full address! Probably wouldn’t order again.

Really good food. Didn’t have to wait long (we collected). Good menu with great range of dishes and all were reasonably priced. One of the things we bought was a great value dish that came in one container (£6.00). You could choose from 3 different dishes and rice and chips were included. Not our usual choice from a Chinese but it did make a good value (and plentiful) snack. Chow Mein was great too. The place looked really clean and there was street parking just outside.

Lovely food delivered right on time and piping hot. Best sweet and sour chicken I’ve had. Easy ordering would highly recommend.

First time I have used then, and wow absolutely fantastic. Nothing had that greasy taste to it, meat was tender, the only complaint I have was the spare ribs were quite chewy, but everything else was perfect. I will definitely be using them again

Had a Friday night takeaway, lady was friendly. Prices are reasonable, and the portion sizes are ok. The problem is the food is pretty unappetising. The spring rolls were like cardboard and only lightly filled. The spare ribs tasted like they were cooked hours ago. This area needs a good Chinese takeaway, the Happy Wok is not it.

Good food at a good price fast derlivery all ways hot

New to area so tried for first time tonight what a mistake. Rang in order told about an hour so one and half hours later rang to see what was happening only said be with you in 5 mins no apology obviously had forgotten. Food arrived incorrect rice had to warm in food in micro. Want bother again.

Good ingredients, nice selection of mushrooms but so very bland, no seasoning or any spice. Had happy family, chow mein and sweet and sour chicken. Good service on phone and delivery guy friendly but sadly would not use again.

We were going to order from a chinese take away somewhere else through a well known food app. App failed, so we happened to look if Happy Wok had a website. Not only did they have a website, but could also order online!! Given 55 min delivery time. Doorbell rang in 20 mins!! Spent less and got so much more food than expected! Hot, tasty and looked fresh. Lovely meal and will definitely use again.

Great food and always reasonable price

Whilst staying at Shorefield park we decided to have a take away Chinese meal so we could enjoy it whilst watching Strictly Come dancing rather than go out for one. The delivery arrived on time & we all agreed it was delicious.

I have not used the Happy Wok for some weeks as they had in my opinion gone down hill. However having used it for the last 3 weeks I have found a vast improvement. I have thoroughly enjoyed each and every mouth full. There seems to be more care taken with the prep. work and a vast improvement flavor wise. Well done and keep op the good work. I shall be back for more.

Good takeaway fast and friendly parking outside

We have been using this takeaway for years and I was shocked to see any negative reviews on here. Funny how four of them are from the same person? Their food is delicious, it always arrives fast and and with a smile. We always use Happy Wok and always will. Hot & Sour soup is incredible, amazing special fried rice and their salt & chilli ribs are to die for.

Stayed at Hoburne Bashley, quick delivery to site and couldn't fault the food.

Beat Chinese In the new milton area..

The food took an hour and a half to arrive despite being told it would be 20-30 minutes !!!!!!!! It was cold when it finally arrived!!!! Poor delivery driver rushed off his feet on crap pay !!!!!

While staying at Shorefield recently (November 2018) we had a meal from this great takeaway. The food as usual was very good and the takeaway is nice and clean. We look foreward to our next meal from here when on holiday next year.

We thought we would try here as very local. Never again cold greasy food curry was solid and the sweet and sour chicken in breadcrumbs was about 1mm thick and never seen a bit of chicken!!!!! Back to China at Lees they never disappoint. Honestly look at this place before you order and then don’t !!!!!!!!

We had a takeaway from here and I ordered special curry it’s one of the best Chinese curry’s I’ve had it was hot plenty of mixed meat and the chips were excellent if in the area again will certainly visit this takeaway again

Good food, good portion size, and hot.

Waited 2 hours for a delivery we were told would be 30 minutes. When it finally arrived it was cold and the order was wrong. Lucky none of us have a seafood allergy as they delivered sweet and sour prawns instead of chicken. I’ve since learnt their hygiene rating is dreadful !!!!!!! Don’t go there !!!!

Check New Forest District Council food hygiene rating before using this takeaway. So disappointed as previously praised Happy Wok.

They only take cash, no signs on the windows or inside telling you this. Also checked out their food hygiene rating and its terrible.

Always really good quality and amazingly quick delivery. Never had a bad dish from here and I have never had a Chinese delivery that comes close! Perfect every time.

We used this take away for the first time last night. The reviews were mixed but we thought we would give it a go. Ordered a variety of dishes including curry, chow main, prawn satay etc. They said it would take an hour to deliver so we went and collected it within 20 mins! Don’t accept cards but a free cash point is close by. We all loved the food, it was tasty, not greasy, chicken was moist and all the dishes flavoursome. Will definitely use them again. Great value for money and you get crackers for free! :)

we decided to treat ourselves went in ordered sweet and sour chicken special chow main with a extra sweet and sour sauce, got back home. Not only didn't I have my extra sauce we never got any sauce at all this made our treat very dry shan't go back again we shall stick to our local Chinese in future at least the give you what you ask for !!!!!

This is our local Chinese takeaway so we go here probably once a fortnight. The food is delicious and made very quickly. They only accept cash but this doesn’t matter as there is a cash point at Nisa which is a very short walk away. There’s nothing more to say really apart from the food is very tasty and reasonably priced.

Had a spur of the moment need for a Chinese. Normally have sweet and sour king prawn Hong Kong style but thought I would have the chicken for a change. BIG mistake!!! The chicken was so dried up it was inedible!!! The pineapple was ok though. It is the first bad meal we have had from here so we will give it another go just definitely won't have the chicken again.

Waiting since 7.15. To be told at 8.30 another 15 minutes it hasn't left the shop! It is now 9.15 and still no food! What a joke. A delivery driver who asked where we were only to wait another 15 minutes when he said he was here!

Visited while staying on holiday. Really good food. Excellent satay, sweet and sour, mixed starters. All great food amd wishing our local Chinese food was as good.

I had chicken curry and egg fried rice from here. The curry sauce was the same consistency as water and tasteless. Good Chinese restaurants make the sauce slightly thick. The fried rice was very poor. Okay I know fried rice is fried rice, but most Chinese restaurants made it with the same characteristic flavour. Not this one; the egg fried rice was utterly tasteless. I ordered on the telephone and arrived at the shop 3 minutes later. To my surprise my order was already on the counter in a bag. They certainly couldn't have cooked it to order in two minutes, it must have been cooked bulk in a big pot beforehand and reheated in a microwave; a common practice in low class takeaways. I don't know where they source their ingredients from but everything in it was devoid of taste. I'm being generous giving it two stars, I'd never come back for more. I see the reviews are generally good; which made me wonder if there's been a change of ownership and a plunge in the quality. That often happens with these sort of eateries.

The staff are friendly and they have a fast delivery service. This is easily our favourite in the area. They are happy to adjust dishes to your requirements where possible and the quality of the food has always been excellent.

Superb! What an amazing find. High quality food, with no grease,generous sized portions, freshly cooked. The staff were friendly & helped me with their menu.
