First time to this restaurant and most definitely the last. Went on Saturday night with grandson and girlfriend. First impressions looked good, bright and colourful with a busy atmosphere. We were taken to a booth which was nice, I noticed though looking up at the gold coloured wall that it was very very dusty. This place is not worth paying your hard earned cash on. The food was just about average, nothing to rave about. When the bill was presented at the end we were shocked to see the total. The bottle of NZ Sauvignon Blanc alone was £73 ! So ok on checking the wine list it was priced at that, my fault for not looking, but who would even expect to pay that in a grubby basic restaurant that had bare tables, no tablecloths, paper serviettes and on arrival given the menu which is a piece of paper and a pencil to tick your choices in the boxes. No niceties here, we noticed written in red on the top of the paper that they reserved the right to sometimes ask for payment before the meal is served too……what’s that all about! On top of paying the price of a bottle of wine that one would perhaps expect to pay in a more upper class restaurant, paying £27.90 for two of the starters and being charged for four extra bowls of rice which we never ordered they then stuck a further £22.40 service charge on. We are totally against paying service charges choosing to tip if and when we get service that goes the extra mile, we had that charge removed.……..then removed ourselves, this is one grotty restaurant we will never be returning to!

Disgusting! Fried chicken wings were awful , the batter was thick and inedible! Baked ribs were not baked they were deep fried in batter, very weird! Could go on and on about the order, but won’t! Ordered £30 of food threw it all away ! Complete waste of money !

Salt n pepper wings were swimming in oil , curry and soup was tastless no flavour to curry sauce prices were alright

The food is amazing .I’ve used Happy View for almost 10 years and not once had any problems or issues with the food . As for the delivery drivers they are ALL so lovely and friendly , I cannot praise Happy View any higher ❤️

This is my favourite Chinese restaurant in Edinburgh. Excellent food from mainland China with a lot of authentic dishes. The owners are very friendly and welcoming and very child friendly too. The hot and spicy crab and the steamed seabass is especially good.

I have been using Taste of China since 2010, and the meals are always amazing, with good service and affordability. Thank you for always welcoming us in like family. If I could, I would be in every week. My uncle, who is hard to please, always raves about your meals. My mum always loved your prawn toast, and your crispy duck is always perfect and full to the brim, with the rice and noodles always well packed, giving us more for our money. Counting down the days to eating one of your meals again, cash permitting, due to family upheaval. Will pop a photo on if I have one here if not will pop another next time.

Been going weekly food has been great, the staff are lovely, would highly recommend especially on the all you can eat offer, very good value for money

We arrived and we’re not greeted warmly , I had booked but a table was not ready. It took an age to get a drink and then we were informed that the main courses were £2 more than advertised and all the rest £1 more it felt like we were being ripped off The food was ok but too much salt , cash only that tells you about the restaurant. The toilets were sticky and unclean . First and last visit

Hemos estado en este restaurante varias veces y me gusta el ambiente tranquilo. La comida es un poco más caro de lo que normalmente para así que tienden a reservar para ocasiones especiales. La característica excepcional para nosotros es la voluntad del chef para adaptar platos para la cena y son siempre servicial en tratar con mi intolerancia gluten.

Delicious, healthy, and affordable food. Polite and friendly staff. Highly recommended – definitely give it a try!

Ordered chicken curry, fried rice and a portion of noodles. Rice must have been sitting for some time as it was like 'mush'! Noodles were just okay. Chicken curry had a strange flavour and I couldn't eat it. We usually go here every couple of weeks but recently it has been a 'hit or miss' experience! Think we'll try somewhere else.

Awful manager and attitude I’ve had delivery many times from this place and she states they don’t deliver to my address, shocking attitude from her as well
