All good and everything hot, just the way it should be, as many other places get this wrong which spoils the food and experience. Second time I've been there and will continue to do so.

Wonderful beef and chicken dishes, excellent cripsy duck, good service, restaurant could do with with a complete upgrade, tatty walls and stained ceiling

Lovely food. Come here often, but not often enough (couple of times a year at least)! Menu is great, enough choice for everyone. The all you can eat (but order as you want it, rather than a buffet) format is really good. As always, struggled to remember what I had previous time (don't go often enough!) but it's Chinese so everything tastes amazing anyway! We were here for a family occasion, so several of us. Everyone had a good meal and no one had any complaints. I just wish I could eat more before I get so full!!! Bigger group meant we could order more and share thus try more things! Had the ginger chicken main this time, and it was lovely. The lemon chicken the time before (I think!), also great! Also had satay skewers, spring rolls, prawn toast, singapore noodles, among others, all amazing. In all the times I've been here don't think I've really had a bad meal. Highly recommended!

We turned up they checked our booking off asked us to sit down and then gave our table away!!!! Awful customer service!!

Great food and service 7 family members for a birthday food was lovely and hot very tasty and lits of it we had the all you can eat.

Went there last night. 1. Very poor value for money and poor quality food. It was Tasteless. 2. Service totally confused. Kept bring the wrong plates. 3. That is the last time we go. It has gone downhill steadily. To the point they should be paying us. 4. Whilst paying i watched young man putting candles in a cake. Birthday? He was moving the toppings ( chocolate?) about with his bare hands. Rubbing hands in clothing. This has to be a no go. Better to stop charging the public big bucks for very poor food and service. It was t even hit in some plates. E. G. Singapore noodles.

Came here for the first time with work friends; thought the food was gorgeous & the service was very fast. Came back this evening for my dads birthday, again the food was so delicious and service was super fast, it’s very clean there and the servers are very polite Would recommend, to sit in :-)

Takeaway delivery. Just received our first new yangs delivery, unfortunately I won’t order from here again. The chicken curry was tasteless and very runny, chips hard. The popadoms were put in the same bag as the food and were just limp. The only positive is that the delivery was on time. Such a shame as I have heard so many good things, just wish I had read the first few Tripadvisor posts????

Had several takeaways and sit down meals, all excellent. Ordered takeaway last night, June 16th 2023, unfortunately not good. Food was tasteless, Luke warm, and not up to their usual standards.

Food is so full of onions and little of anything else rang to advise them of this but apparently the chef said this is his recipe, have used Yang's for many years but I'm afraid no more, if you love a box of stewed onions this might be the place

I’m writing this review for the Takeaway food. Ordered chicken chow mein, kung po chicken, chicken and pineapple and egg fried rice for delivery. Chicken chow mein had hardly any chicken and didn’t have much else apart from noodles. Bland, no flavour at all. Same with chicken and pineapple, I don’t like peppers so didn’t have them but again no flavour, very bland and made up more of pineapple. Kung po chicken for my husband was awful, no taste again, lacked spicy taste, filled mainly with onions, carrots and very watery gravy, very bland again. Arrived in good time considering it was New Years Eve but was lukewarm. Really disappointed as have eaten in the restaurant a few times and always enjoyed the meal. Have now received 2 takeaways from there and the same. Thought the first disappointment might have been a blip. Won’t be ordering from there again.

Having eaten here a few times previously, we booked in advance for a familly celebration. Having arrived spot on the timeslot we were told we had to wait for a table. Twenty minutes passed without any update so I approached a member of staff. She was abrupt to the point of being rude telling me I'd have to wait as the table hadn't paid. In the meantime others were arriving and being seated. Some of these hadn't booked and wrre being given priority over us. Another 15 minutes passed without update or apology, so I informed the staff that we weren't prepared to wait amy longer and we would be leaving. At this point the member of staff shouted that I was being fude. What a cheek!. This venue is certainly on a downward spiral. We will not be hurrying back.

I e been coming to this restaurant for years and visit quite often. I went with both my children and family members. My son who is 5 never eats here as he’s very picky. When we ordered food he asked if my son would like to try some rice and chicken style nuggets, which was basically salt and chilli chicken but plain. When going to the till he charged me £12 for his food. When I asked why it was so expensive when it’s only £8 for a child to eat on the all you can eat he said ‘as it’s a special order it’s from the main menu’ my son didn’t eat the rice as it was one big ball stuck together. There was no customer service what do ever. Definitely lost a loyal customer

This was our second visit. First time we loved it. This time not so much! It's an 'all you can eat' so when we order a few starters you would really expect more than 1 of each item. For example we asked for spare ribs and literally 1 came out on a plate ! So be warned if you are ordering you need to tell them to bring approx 4 so you are able to share. The mains were very bland and tasteless. We didn't think it was very good value for money at all. At £17.99 per person I expected better. Sadly would not reccommend and won't be returning.

First of all the tables were screened off so you felt safe. Service was extremely satisfactory. The food is very reasonably priced, well cooked and served attractively. We had an exceptional meal and were very pleased with the cleanliness, the service, the presentation and of course the food was delicious. Wholly recommend. We did note people ordering from the "east as much as you like" menu were ordering enough to several more people and wasting it. Maybe the owners should look into that because it's such a shame to know that at least half of what people were ordering would end up wasted.

Worst Chinese food I have had for a long time. It was tasteless the chips were limp and cold, the popadom was burnt. I would not recommend this food to anyone. It was a take away not sit in. The staff were really polite.

Old decor and definitely in need of a refurb but The food is beautiful and the place is clean . Plastic screening between tables isn’t the best looking . It’s hanging from the ceiling but it does the job . I will definitely return .

I have visited New Yangs previously and always had good food. On this particular occasion we had the all you can eat option, I had the same as my wife and baby, plus I ate lemon chicken and prawn toast that they didn’t have. Later...

Always lovely food, starters are the best. Lettuce wraps and chicken satay are favourites. Always nice staff. Better to go with a big group so you can try lots of different things. Would recommend

This restuarant in Barry serves really tasty chinese food and opens at 5pm for those who dont want to eat too late. Yes as previous reviews suggest the decor is a little dates but what they serve make up for that and the staff are so helpful We will be back soon.

We had a rare night off from being grown ups , we decided to give new yangs a try .... I rang first to reserve a table for 2 .... we turned up , got seated and ordered the all you can eat option .... food was plentiful , nicely cooked .Ok it looks a little dated but this shouldn't take you away from the purpose of your visit " to eat " . If you'd like a value for money evening , at least 2 of you .... Take a punt and visit .... we had about 9 courses 2 beers and a bottle of wine worked out @ £55 ish .....

Came here on 24 January 2019 for a meal with work colleagues, 3 of whom had been before & highly recommended the place. Was not disappointed, 16 quid for all you can eat, not buffet style, you order & they serve your table. We tasted every starter on the menu & then had loads of mains. The decor in there is quite dated but the food & service more than make up for that.

Our friends had raved about this restaurant when they went there a year ago and they could not wait to take us. we eventually went the weekend between Christmas and New Year and was very disappointed. We asked for spare ribs for 2 people we got two spare ribs, we asked for chicken satay for 3 we got 3 skewers and it did not improve as the order was placed although our friends had said that when they attended the meals were so large they could not eat it all. Dont know if it was a breakdown in communication or what but all in all for a buffet type restaurant the amount of food was insufficient. Needless to say we will look at other restaurants next time.

As a relatively new resident to Barry it sometimes takes a while to seek out the good places to eat.

I had previously left a rating of 4-5 the food used to be outstanding and I would never contemplate going anywhere else for Chinese food. This year they have either changed ownership or changed chefs and it’s now taken a complete nose dive. I have ordered a few takeaways over the past year and unfortunately they have been consistently very poor. The food is always cold and taste and quality below sub standard. So disappointed as we always used to look forward to eating from here as it was never anything other than perfect.

visited here for the first time and found it to be lovely, food was excellent and plenty of it, good variety on menu and staff very attentive, would definitely recommend. Prices are also very reasonable

With two friends we had a really nice experience regarding our meals, good food and friendly helpful staff .... what more do I need to say?

I absolutely love coming here with friends. The food is always amazing and such amazing quality and value for money with the all you can eat. Always a must for us to come here.

Portions were generous and the staff were attentive enough. The place was a bit grotty and could do with a deep clean. What put off our table of four was the near constant ringing of the telephone, interrupting our conversation.

We booked a party of 15 and turned up only 12.

Firstly, I have never had any issues with the staff who I have found always to be polite.

I really don't want to waste any more energy on this experience. Sufficient to say we left after the starter. The guy who served us is in the wrong business would be more suited to serving farm animals. We didn't make any complaint but the food was mediocre. my real complaint focused on the head waiter 5 sat down, 4 opted for the all you can eat menu, too much for me so I went for the chicken with no starter. Food arrived, the all you can eat starters for my 4 fellow diners, the waiter warned me I was not allowed any of the all you can eat (I did think he was joking) but at the end of the first service I noted not much of the duck dish was eaten, I asked grandson the reason he ordered then left it 'it was really tough pops he replied' I leaned over and took a sliver - well if I did the- waiter rushed at me grabbing the plate of duck (which hadn't been touched) and screamed at me in Chinese to the effect I was not allowed to eat it. At this stage the rest of the diners gazed open mouthed at the spectacle. I really don't understand - needless to say we paid up and left. Never again -

Firstly when calling the restaurant I had the phone put down on me twice when trying to make a reservation, took 61 attempts to get through.

Easter Sunday evening meal after not visiting for couple of years.

Our booking was for 7.00.p.m. so when we arrived we were surprised to find the restaurant nearly full.We were seated and placed our order in a reasonable time considering how busy they were (they were also receiving and serving Takeaway orders too !!) Our meal was tasty and there was plenty of it.Thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will definitely be back again soon !!

Interesting to read the last review as we experienced the same. We have been ordering from Yangs for years and have always found it great. Ordered our usual selection last night and were surprised it was not up to the usual standard!! The meal was flavourless and bland, especially the chicken dish. Not sure if there has been a change in chef but sure hope it was a one off or we will have to look round for an alternative!

Large takeaway order for family party. Excellent service, telephone order repeated to ensure all present & correct. Delivered on time and fantastic food. Brother in law and i chose all you can eat menue so when the menue arrived we were asked to chose all the dishes up front so i asked if we could chose as we whent along not happy but agreed most choises on the cheaper food on the menue but the premium choises came as smaller portions heave on the Msg in the sauces service patchy quite a few tables complained about the quality of the food and the attitude of the staff prehaps it was just a bad day but will not returnn

Visited New Yangs for takeaway. As it was early in the evening and very quiet, I only had to wait about 15 minutes for food to be prepared. All was freshly cooked, hot and very flavoursome. It would be useful if their extensive takeaway menu was available online. Will definitely visit again when in the area.

Haven't been for a while and wasn't disappointed. Food was plentiful and full of flavour,best Singapore noodles I've had since when we were in Singapore. The only thing that could be improved is the time between serving main dishes,they didn't come all together,but won't put us off we will go again.

Recently stayed with family in Barry who told me this place was the best for Chinese and it certainly was! Ordered the most delicious food we have had in a long time. Super fast delivery food was piping hot and the delivery driver was lovely to my little one who was trying to pay him. Fab service all round well recommended

We have eaten many times at New Yangs in Barry with friends and othertimes with a large group of family members and we all love it. Recently we went for a birthday on a Sunday early evening the food was freshly cooked and brought to our table. We ordered all the starters initially that we wanted and then the main courses. All the food was fantastic, quite a few of the family love the duck course and the spare ribs but a few of the group are vegetarians and we find there is a great amount of choice for us. The veg lelluce wraps are really really good. We think it is the best restaurant in Barry by a mile.

Nice food but shocking tbh. Food come to £13.30. Gave him a £20 note and I said £5 change will be fine mate. He gives me £3 and try's to walk off and I called him back and said excuse me mate your short. Comes back gives me another £1 and walks off so still another £2.70 short. Was going to give him the odd anyways which as £1.70. Talk about trying to rob you!! Over priced food to!

My boyfriend and I stayed in Cardiff and we went to the Pleasure Park nearby for the evening and thought to get some food. We found this restaurant by accident, but it gave us such surprise!

Came here for a family meal. They are great with young children. The food is really quick to arrive, which is great for my kids as no waiting around and them getting impatient.

Lovely food and made a refreshing change from our usual Chinese takeaway. Quoted 1 hour, came within 3 quarters of an hour - not bad for a Friday night. Would highly recommend although food could have been hotter. Hygiene score is rated 3 out of 5 according to the establishment's latest inspection.

Tried this place after hearing many good reviews. It was a complete and utter dissapoitment the decor is what I would expect from something in the 80's. Plastic like table clothes and very hard chairs. The food came out way too quickly for my liking. Service was poor expecially when we asked for plates rather than small bowls (if looks could kill). I am not one to leave reviews but this was by far my worst experience. As i was sitting eating the average food i noticed that the soy sauce was dated 2009 when asked I was told they refil the bottles. Regarless if they do that, the bottles will have picked up much bacteria over the years, makes me wonder what goes on behind the scences if this is what they do for everyone to see. In my opinion Yangs needs a make over, new staff and drastically improve their hygine standards!

Some dishes were really tasty such as the S&S Chicken but other like curry very bland. Prawns and duck were good to see on an all you can eat buffet.

Quality of food outstanding, great service when extremely busy. Only ever come here for a chinese dine in experience, as no where else in south wales comes close on quality of food and service. Drive 20 miles to eat here its that good. Decor inside could be better but the food makes up for it.

Really fab buffet meal at this restaurant, really great quality food and service was amazing, must try the lettuce rolls! One bit of advice was to change the music, was 4 awful songs on repeat but apart from that, top notch!

We love this restaurant! Everything is cooked fresh and it's really tasty. If we are having Chinese this is our go to place on the rare occasion we can get a sitter we love to eat here too! Have taken the kids and they've always been catered for too! Worth a trip definitely all you can eat made to order can't go far wrong with that!

We had a take away delivered from these guys on Saturday night. First they forgot the rice and seemed upset when I insisted they sent it. Then upon eating it we were very disappointed. 2 things in particular were the "Curry Sauce" more like a yhin cabbage soup with salt then there was the "Chicken Balls" this term should be used lightly as out of 10 only 4 of them even had a bit of chicken in them once we had gotten through the cm thick batter. Even that chicken was really tough and tasteless.

Firstly told order would be an hour, in fairness after hour lapsed they did call to say it would be another 20 minutes because they were busy, did not wants to wait an hour 20 minutes would have gone somewhere else because we were hungry its not my problem they are busy! would have been happy if they told me an hour twenty in the first place.Food arrived, crispy duck to start fine, chicken curry horrible, are they using real chicken or thin sliced chicken roll its disgusting, watery, tasteless and chewy. Chips and rice cold.not going to have a take away again sorry owners because you are lovely people!

I have had one or two 'iffy' experiences here, but they are far outweighed by the good ones. I think if you visit too close to closing you are rushed and the food is not up to the usual. I will return.

Yangs is definitely a favourite with our family, we are never disappointed. The food is always very tasty, piping hot and never greasy which is hard to find these days. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Was pleasantly surprised to see Thai dishes on the menu and was not disappointed. Ribs to start with the crispy lamb, delicious. Thai chicken and a chicken rice for main course. Absolutely delicious but a big portion. More than enough to takeawaym

Don't be put off by the look of the place when you arrive. It looks very basic but the food is amazing. Other reviews mention a buffet menu but this is not really the case; there is a menu for £17.99 per person and you can order as many dishes (yes really!!) as you like as many times as you like. The food is really very good; great variety, tastes really fresh and piping hot. After being quite dubious about this place I'd go back like a shot

We have had take always from New Yangs for many years but never ordered early. We ordered tonight for a special occasion, my daughter her partner and our new grand daughter were coming for a Chinese. How disappointed were we , stale food, I think it was the previous nights regifted . The papadom, chips, butterfly prawns were stale. I rang to complain about the food and to be fair they did say they would send fresh but as we had already begun a the meal it would be too late. Won't be ordering early ever again.

Every item on the menu is delicious esp the lettuce roll, the aromatic duck, the ribs all of it is so nicely cooked and the owners are very nice too.

This Chinese has a good eat as much as you like buffet menu. The food you order is cooked fresh and brought straight to your table by the friendly staff. Their is a good selection of starters and main courses. The only issue I had is that the food rating certificate was not displayed. Great value at £15.99 per head

First time ordering from new yangs (home delivery), and was pleasantly surprised. The food was on time, hot and very tasty. Only quibble was that the chow mein was a little bland. Will definitely order again.

Love this place either take away or eat in! Eat in is all you can eat and is all cooked fresh to order which is amazing as usually you have the food on a hot plate and no one is really sure how long the food has been sat there. Staff are happy and friendly. Never leave here hungry and the food is delicious

Been going here for years, never once had a bad meal, meet up with friends every other month and eat off the all you can eat menu, not like your usual Chinese all you can eat where the food is left out on cart to go cool and manky! Everything you order is cooked fresh and delivered to your table piping hot, you can order many times over and each dish arrives perfect. Even our takeaways come from here ,best Chinese in Barry by a mile.

Visited yangs with my partner for a birthday celebration and can honestly say I wasn't disappointed. As mentioned in other reviews don't be put off by the decor the food more than makes up for it. We chose to order from the buffet Menu at £15.99 a person it's well worth the price. I love the Crispy duck, chicken satay. Chicken with chilli and salt and not forgetting amazing lettuce rolls there's so much filling you'll have some left over. Only thing I wasn't keen on was the coke comes from a bottle not draught or can bit thats just personal preference. Be prepared for a wait especially as weekends as this restaurant offers delivery too and the phone rings off the hook.

My wife and I decided to try here after reading some of the review's, what a shock we got, we both wanted to try the buffet but at £14.99 per person and you get charged for any food not finished we thought this to be overpriced, then to top it all you are charged £1.00 for a jug of tap water we left quickly, won't be going back.

As always great food in here but if you go on a busy night expect a lonnnnng wait. Had table booked for 7.30pm. Arrived and was shown to our table. We were given the menus and left alone. About 5mins later a girl came and took our drinks order. She came back with the drinks and took our starters. 5 items. 30mins past n nothing 45mins they brought out 2 dishes 10mins later another 2. We didn't get to see the 5th plate. They took our order for the mains and another 40mins later they brought out 2 more dishes thankfully it wasn't long before the remainder.They did compliment us our deserts and as I've already said the food was lovely. Just go on a quiet night cos it's much better service

Have visited Yangs onseveral occasions. The food is always being reasonable and have I have always enjoyed it. I do find the starters much more enjoyable than the mains but the food is plentiful and is a good atmosphere.On the all you can eat option there is duck pancakes which is unusual for this type of menu and this always feels like a treat.A nice little restaurant with a plentiful menu

Have been to "New Yangs" a good few times, Love it! Ignore the decor, the food is really nice. They offer a menu buffet, £14.99pp , If to go with more that 4\5 friends, ask for a round table, it`s a lot more social. Very helpful, friendly staff. Looking forward to going again, highly recommended.

It could be a fluke that the night we went the food was so-so. The beef dish we ordered was dry, so weren't very impressed by that. Service was ok. Can't say its totally bad though so next time we are around, I will probably give it another try and hopefully it will be "amazing" -- as most reviews about the place say!

We have been visiting this Chinese for years both eating at the restaurant and also takeaways and I can honestly say it is the best Chinese restaurant for the freshest food I have ever experienced certainly in my opinion the best in Barry & Cardiff whilst maybe the restaurant is a little tired in the decor trust me the food & the staff more than make up for it most definitely one to visit if your in the area and even if your not worth making the trip to Barry to experience the food you won't be disappointed
