Unfortunately I asked for a gluten free meal and it was absolutely not what I received. I have coeliac disease and eating out is difficult enough without requesting a meal and being basically poisoned. I had the eggs Benedict and I’m pretty sure now that the eggs were cooked with malt or distilled vinegar and I doubt the sauce was gluten free. This is a serious health condition and if you are unable to cater to gluten free/coeliac do not advertise that you can. I’m ill after my visit.

Been going to the George for more years than i care to remember!! Mostly with friends …always enjoyed the food but this time felt food not same standard any more, But main issue which means we wont go back now was the fact that we had 4 dogs all around us…..now i am an animal lover however i have no objection to having dog in place but they shud be in a designated area!!!! not where food is served!!!, Nor allowed to be on the seats!!!

Couldn't believe a Chip shop in troon is cash only I have bought food from snack bars that have Chip and pin food was ok

First I ordered scrambled egg on toast, they brought out scrambled egg with bread and butter, rather than replace it all as the eggs would get cold they replaced the toast. When I ate the eggs they tasted very salty and of fish, I believe this is because they cooked it in the same pan as my friend’s fish and chips and it was truly horrible

Regularly go for breakfast. Great value for a buffet breakfast. Staff are always very nice and helpful too especially Anya.

Recently had our wedding at Cornhill Castle. The location is stunning. The castle is also to a high standard and the rooms were amazing, luxurious and comfortable (especially the honeymoon suite). The staff went over and above and made sure the wedding went smoothly and that we were looked after at all times. We can't thank the staff enough, they really added a personal touch and made us relax knowing everything was in hand. Rooms, service and location all 5 stars. Unfortunately I have to remove 1 star as the food was not good. We paid extra for the beef and the majority of the guests have given feedback that it wasn't good. Groom was served an overcooked end piece which was barely edible so it was sent back. The next piece was edible but for a beef fillet at a wedding, just being edible is not really what we were hoping for. Other guests did say theirs was overcooked, tough and tasteless. The veg and brownie were also not to a high standard. We regret paying the extra charge for an upgraded meal. We advise future weddings to stick to the standard menu.

Popped in for a late lunch on a Friday. It was a beautiful day so we sat outside with the dog, though I'm assured they are very dog friendly inside too. As soon as staff saw the dog they brought a water bowl without being asked (top service for the dog). Food was lovely and atmosphere very welcoming. Prices were very reasonable and portions generous. We'll definitely be back.

Visited here with my husband and dog whilst on a weekend break. Staff were extremely welcoming and even supplied my dog with some ham and water. Food was delicious highly recommended

Booked a table for 3, after waiting to be seated for some time we were given a table for 2 persons. Asked for 3rd set of cutlery ended up taking them ourselves from another table. Ordered wine which came some time after starters and having asked twice for it. Waitress plonked it down beside us never offered to open it or pour it. We had asked for water for the table it came with a mysterious object in it which looked like a slater, returned it and glass with lipstick on it. Starter could only be described as ok, main course were pasta dishes, we asked for black pepper to be told they could find it, no Parmesan even offered. Whole experience was shocking from start to finish, we were told the bar was busy. Friday night and only 2 staff members who clearly needed a lot of staff training. Definitely not worth the money as service, food and cleanliness very severely lacking. Hotel management need to have a serious look at what is happening in this hotel.

It has all the classic Scottish bakery favourites and tere is always a massive selection of savoury and sweet items. A pity the sit in cafe has gone since covid.

Duncan served us with an excellent meal He personally advised re menu and did not disappoint. He was helped by a very professional young waitress.

Kelly has the best cafe inside here, if you’re looking for food in Ardrossan then this is the place to go!

We regularly use the chocstop for desserts! The best dessert place in Ayrshire. Reasonably priced, always a quick delivery and the sundaes are delicious! Great value for money highly recommend this place!
