Roast beef dinner is amazing-unbeatable. Staff are great! Extensive menu and choice and very reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend.

Was in here a couple of weeks ago with a group of us, and the service was brilliant. Staff were very friendly, and the food is a decent portion too! Well worth a wee visit if you're nearby :)

A different experience in what seemed to be a combined clothes and coffee shop - potentially two of the latter as we had our coffees by the street window but it also looked to be a cafe at the back when we left. Pleasant service, an okay filter coffee

A father and son weekend away by the coast and first time visiting Girvan. This cafe was a great wee find where we were warmly greeted and they even satisfied my 3 year old’s demand for a lit candle on his cake despite it not being his birthday! Superb breakfast at low cost, fresh coffee and very friendly and humble local staff. This also seems like a popular place for local residents which is always a good sign. Well done all and thanks for having us. Great to see Harris Tweed products being sold here and at reasonable prices.

This place is always busy. I had the soup and pudding deal. I had the tastiest cream of broccoli and cauliflower soup followed by Eve's Pudding. Delicious!

This is a lovely,cosy cafe at the back of the store, which I have visited on more than one occasion whilst in Girvan. The food here is delicious and all homemade. I had a southern fried chicken wrap and a hot chocolate, and I was delighted with the food. I would also recommend trying the soup and desserts, as I have partaken those on a previous visit with my partner and his father. The ladies who work here are always very friendly and welcoming too 😊

Not a lot of room at the tables and the service was slow, we left after being ignored for 10 minutes.

Have visited this place many times over a long and wonderful relationship with the wee town of Girvan. Can't fault the food all meals purchased were excellent, also they allow dogs which is a great bonus. Have recently discovered most businesses in Girvan allow dogs access, well done Girvan.

What a difference a year makes. A year ago gave 5 star review. Now it barely rates 1 disorganized chaos. Visited today ordered 3 soups , 2 cheeseburgers and ham salad roll with 3 coffees. Rolls arrived first had to remind them about the soup it eventually arrived. So what to eat first soup or roll. Coffees never arrived. Asked for the bill which wasn't available just took card and gave receipt for that. Absolute disgrace won't be back.

Tartans & Tweeds. I'd never been previously, only walked past, my old dad decided to head in for lunch. We all ordered the cream of cauliflower soup with a sweet. Soup was absolutely perfect, salted but not excessively, and the sticky toffee pudding was awesome. Our server was an awesome strapping Scottish maiden too, lovely lass. Service was a bit hit and miss but we all got there in the end.

Christmas Dinner was brilliant and piping hot and quite a plateful, great value for the money. Haddock and chips better than a chippy not greasy and batter was 👌. Will definitely be back soon. 😁

Where do I start? Service: despite asking twice, my latte has still not arrived. Food; I ordered a chicken curry, which is the worst curry I have ever had. It tasted really weird and was exceptionally sweet. The chicken was grey, so I think that means it was either leg or thigh - cheap cuts. The curry was in a deep bowl, which was sat on a plate in a ring of rice, and I was given a knife and fork to eat it with. The bowl was too hot to hold, so I couldn't tip it out into the rice and was forced to add forkfuls of rice to the curry. Why couldn't it have been served all on the same plate? I asked for a diet coke with ice and was told there is no ice but the drink is cold. It wasn't cold and I drank it straight down in one. Service again. When I went to pay and had to tell the lady that I didn't get the latte and that the curry was horrible, she said "I wondered why you didn't eat it", but she still charged me for it. I paid £12.90 for an uneaten curry, a room temperature coke, and a pavlova. The one star is for the pavlova, which was delicious. Would I recommend this place? No.

Friendly staff and reasonable prices in this quirky cafe. Soup and cakes were good and our dog was made very welcome!

Fab excellent service fantastic food

We had a wonderful senior citizens lunch. Me scampi, my wife macaroni cheese. Both delicious and plenty of it followed by two very nice desserts. Such kind and helpful staff. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH. It was far better than the awful roast lunch we had in Alloway yesterday which consisted of a dry piece of chicken and saute potatoes no roasties.

Visited last Saturday about 10.45am. Was relatively quiet and attended to very promptly and service was quick. Waitress was very pleasant. Ordered scones and coffee. Coffee was good but scones were not fresh.Would say they were leftovers from Friday!! Even a wee ten seconds in microwave would have made a great difference. Being a scone maker myself,it is not hard to tell fresh from day old.

This has to be one of the best places to eat in Girvan. If you like Macaroni and Cheese then try theirs - in my opinion the best I’ve ever had when eating out. Brilliant kind, helpful and lovely staff. You certainly won’t be disappointed if you decide to eat here!

We always go to this lovely shop and café in Girvan. Wonderful team. They always work so hard to give a good customer service. Coffee and cakes are always fresh.

Excellent place to grab a Scottish meal, buy clothing and shoes and enjoy a cup of coffee. Great staff that will serve you well. Highly recommend 👍🏻

Just sat down to the most amazing cheese omelette with fries salad complimented with coleslaw which I believe is homemade 😋 I'm normally a fussy person who eats but today's visit has blown my taste buds. Well worth 5 stars and I'm definitely coming back for more

Stopped here en route to Portpatrick and had a breakfast. Great food and big portions. Well cooked and presented. Good value for money. Have recommended this restaurant several times for lunch but this was the first breakfast and it didn't disappoint. Staff were all friendly and helpful.

Very cold sitting at the table, staff disorganised, running from the back to the front of the shop carrying trays if hot drinks and food, via the clothing and shoe department is not ideal, it's an accident waiting to happen, tea in the tiniest teapot ever, @£1.70 is plain ridiculous, the cups are tiny. Very cold shop, won't be back, staff not overly welcoming either, don't recommend, if in Girvan find somewhere else for lunch..

So Very disappointed with service, unacceptable time waited over 35 mins for a simple panini, whilst my other guest got her food 10 mins before me. Will not be back!

Always stop off for a coffee and a freshly baked scone on the way to the Larne/Belfast ferry.

Just went here for a treat and it was delicious my mum got a fish tea and the fish was that fresh the fish was falling apart I got the chicken rap and it was good 👍I do recommend this cafe

As usual all one could ask for. Truth to tell don't think I have been in any establishment I didn't enjoy. There was one but wouldn't be fair to name it as it would just be my opinion. Plus as we are all aware we can have our off day's. Enjoy Oor Welly ☕🤗🌹

Parking at back of shops. Level access. Tea room as well as selling shoes, bags, accessories. Great selection. Food is always very good but 1 criticism, the tearoom at the rear needs an overhaul. The floor and tables are sticky. I think it's the stuff it's cleaned with leaves a residue. Tables and floor are wooden, perhaps time for an upgrade. Despite this, it's always been busy when I've visited and food has always been plentiful and very good.

Family break away and we were looking for a cafe that was dog and wheelchair friendly .. and found here . Great find … staff helped to switch tables around to help with the dog and wheelchair .. as well as the best homemade soup tastes for a very long time ( mum said it was even better than hers) … dog biscuits and water at the ready ! So … I’ll f your visiting the area .. you won’t be disappointed . Took home some homemade strawberry tarts as well .. which were as good as they looked !

Nice friendly place and glad we can take the dog in enjoyed the food and drink could leave some water for the dogs at front door.

Good tasty food, not overpriced, friendly staff

I visited tartan and tweeds this afternoon yo have a bit of luck before returning to work. There was 2 tables available and I was refused one because I was on my own by the owner. I was very embarrassed as it can take a lot of courage to sit and eat on your own. Also every surface is sticky because of the cleaning solution they use I think it's time they changed their products. I won't visit there again.

Lovely wee cafe. Delicious coffee and sweet treats. The breakfast looked awesome too but we didn't partake. The staff were lovely and coped very well with the sudden influx of customers.

Cheerful long established coffee shop within an everything shop!

Some of the staff are polite and very helpful but one thinks it’s ok to swear at customers if she doesn’t agree with your comments and the boss allows her to get away with it and certainly not welcoming. My daughter made a complaint and I got alot of verbal abuse and this particular member of staff has a very low working of hygiene practice.

Whilst on lockdown, they have managed to keep going by serving wonderful takeaways. We have been a number of times and never disappointed. The quality is great. The quantity is enormous. In fact sometimes we could have shared one meal between two . Look out for specials, we had two roast beef dinners for the price of one, about two weeks ago. Marvellous. If you like good honest well cooked food, this is the place to be. Enjoy.

Lovely staff and very nice food

We stopped here on a very rainy day and the food soon cheered us up. It arrived piping hot, I had the lasagne which was served with salad, coleslaw and chips and my husband the roast beef dinner with roast potatoe, mashed swede and turnip (all fresh not frozen). He said it was the best he had ever tasted in a meal out. There was a great atmosphere with several locals there enjoying their food and the service was very quick. It was also good that we could bring our dog in with us. Note it is cash only payment.

Had a lovely meal there today with hubby.. Was lovely and the staff are super hardworki ng and friendly and polite... A joy to have a meal there...

Choice a late breakfast or soup and a baguette... we chose the latter and were glad we did. Soups were delicious and the baguettes were well filled.. and they make a fantastic cuppa... highly recommended!

Lovely wee cafe and restaurant on the main street, amidst a wee treasure trove of things you may want rather than need! Our second visit was as delightful as our first, and the coffee, tea and cake were just fine on a wet and gloomy afternoon. We were welcomed warmly, and were pleasantly pleased that our dog was welcomed too! We will certainly be back again!

Cafe filthy tables. display fridges with food surrounded by dirt. watched a customer complaining and OMG the staff ganged up on the poor woman 3 if them against her alone. the older women with the glasses and dark hair was telling the customer to get lost and don't come back I have never seen anything like it won't be back in here EVER

Foods lovely n staff are very nice

I can see why others bemoan delay in service. We waited over 20 minutes for our brunch that said the meals were stunning and the plates heaped with quality freshly cooked produce. The cafe was busy and all food is freshly made. If you want a quick turnaround then I kindly suggest that you look elsewhere (precooked and reheated food) we will be back and when you consider that two full Scottish breakfasts and hot drinks were under £14 the place is superb value!We loved the fact that we we were asked if we wanted our drink served with the meal and also if I wanted a mug not a teacup for my tea (as if I am a dainty type l!)

My husband and I had a nice coffee and cakes in this cosy cafe in Girvan. The staff were very hardworking and friendly. The cafe, also has a little shop attached to it. It was very convenient to browse some nice pom hats, scarfs and gloves while enjoying our coffee. They have a rich and good quality collection. Our coffee had a nice flavour and the cakes were also fresh and tasty. Affordable prices. This is definitely our favourite place to go and have a break every time we are in Girvan. Thanks.

I never feel compelled to write reviews, but today I feel I have to let others know about the incompetence of this cafè. I sat down with my two children and ordered food that was a issue itself but I am willing to let that slide. It was nothing complicated the kids ordered soup and tuna sandwich and I had ordered soup and cheese onion and ham baguette. This is a very simple order. We waited for what it seemed like forever for one of the soups to arrive without the sandwich. I asked my daughter to wait for ours to come so we could eat together. After about ten minutes of waiting my daughter finally started eating her soup and sandwich. I asked staff where the other two were and they said they were just coming ...... fast forward another ten minutes we were still waiting and my daughter had finished hers the lady come over and asked what we ordered and took our order down again. We waited about another 15 minutes before I decided enough was enough and got up and paid for what we had and left. They were all apologetic but offered no refunds. I WOULD ADVISE NOT TO EAT HERE!. It was chaotic they had no idea who was getting what. Two other tables were waiting on orders and got food out at separate times. We were all looking at each other shocked. Hope you find this honest review helpful.

This was a real find on our holiday in Ayrshire. It's an unsung hero in the main street in Girvan, the restaurant hiding behind a façade of good quality shoes clothing and accoutrements. The staff could not have been more helpful. The place welcomes dogs, at tables placed just outside of the restaurant and there is a varied menu. The food is very well prepared and very tasty - and the prices are extremely reasonable. We met many of the locals, all of whom spoke to us on their way by. This is the place for a good light lunch or a main meal at lunchtime.
