It has all the classic Scottish bakery favourites and tere is always a massive selection of savoury and sweet items. A pity the sit in cafe has gone since covid.

I visited the tea room today and was left bitterly disappointed as it has now closed down and they only have a small shop the little cafe was a fantastic place to sit you could catch up with the locals and chat with visitors or just relax and have a cup of tea the place had a good sense of community about it this is now sadly lost such a shame perhaps Mr Tunnock could focus a bit more on the local community that helped build his business to what it is today.

Came here out of nostalgia for my childhood. The sit-in tearoom is currently closed, so what you're left with is a standard bakery. I got myself some Tunnocks Caramel Wafer Biscuits and cream bun. The truth is that without the tearoom option, it's just like shopping in any bakery and I could've bought the biscuits from a supermarket.

Tunnocks Tea Room is full of the wonderful history and care of a family business that has stood the test of time. The love of Tunnocks can be felt in every mouthful. The staff obviously love what they do and it comes through in the service. Nothing was too much trouble.

I would imagine that with the Tunnock brand name and excellent products people will want to visit the Tea Room for the experience. Unfortunately it is very dated, the chairs are fixed to the tables so that for larger people there is not enough room to sit comfortably as you can't move the chairs back. The tearoom is extremely basic and feels more like a roadside truck stop - certainlly could do with some modernisation and TLC especially since Uddingston has many other eating options. I think the main draw is the food which is really quite good but the poor sitting and surroundings makes it the last choice in Uddingston to drop in for lunch or tea. Pity they have not moved with the times as a few small changes could make a big difference.

It might look very basic but the Tunnocks Tea Room is very clean, plenty of space, very efficient staff and delicious food! We had steak pie and chips. This was no ordinary steak pie. Tonnes of beautiful steak under some stunning flaky pastry. So unexpected, so delicious - what a lovely surprise! Then there’s the baker shop at the front. Heaven! And loads of Tunnocks nostalgia. Heaven! Keep up the good work! Loads of parking nearby and easy to find.

Located on Uddingston Main Street, and only a hundred yards or so from the main Tunnock's factory, the tearoom today is probably the same as it was 40 or 50 years ago in terms of décor and furniture (and menu !), and you need to be a certain age (I'm 63) to fully appreciate it - ie. it's now old enough to be 'on trend' again !! 'Front of house' as you enter is the shop, with a good range of 'retro' cakes, biscuits, pastries etc, all 'fresh from the factory' just across the road - and through the back is the tea room, where you can 'sit in' or 'take away' and enjoy any of the treats from the shop, hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, steak pie, macaroni and cheese etc etc. The food is nice, the staff are friendly and helpful, but it's the décor and the ambiance which make this place so unique - by the time you reach your table, you've travelled back to the late '60s/early '70s - a strange novelty for younger visitors perhaps, but definitely a trip down memory lane for anyone 50+ !! :-):-) I love the place, and have highly recommended it to many friends and family - and now to a much wider Tripadvisor audience too. Most towns had their own version of this back then, but there are very few left now in the same format - but Tunnock's Tearoom in Uddingston will definitely feed your hunger and your soul !! Enjoy your visit, your food, and all the memories the place will evoke......

My husband and I visited the Abbeygreen Cafe today for lunch enroute from Elgin to Warwickshire. It is ideally situated just off the M74 motorway. We had a warm welcome from the friendly staff and the food, drink and service were excellent. Prices were very reasonable . We would highly recommend. !
