A France meets Ayr night at The Bistro-gorgeous cocktails;interesting menu- onion soup, duck, bourguignon and fish were beautifully cooked; service was,as always, immaculate. Thanks to the whole team for a really lovely evening- looking forward to the next one.

Unprepossessing outside. Lounge closed but public bar open & lively. Everyone seemed gobsmacked that we were walking the ACP. Even more that we'd swam both days, and amazed that I'd skinny dipped. Customers & barmaid pointed us to the beer garden, but in a friendly way. The BG was v basic, just a yard. But the beer was good.

This was such a pleasant surprise. We were staying in Glenapp Castle and expected traditional fine dining in the main building, but not a Michelin-quality modern restaurant in the grounds. I was sceptical at first and had to be convinced by my partner to try this place, but I was certainly glad I did! The atmosphere on arrival is beautiful - you have a welcome canapes and drink in a green house area with pools, fresh growing herbs and other greenery around you. It was very special. Afterwards, you are treated to a fantastic, modern cuisine dinner that is exceptional with an excellent selection of wines. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are staying in the Ballantrae area. Just lovely!

AMAZING food and outstanding service at The Harbour! Fish Finger Butty and BLT were absolutely gorgeous 😍 Staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly without being intrusive. I'm in a wheelchair and they were so accommodating: I often feel an inconvenience to small independants but not so here! Oh, and it's dog friendly too 🐕

Aside from the gentle ribbing the queue, there was a plethora of options. A tuna sandwich here does not mean a sandwich with just tuna, think again! Cheese. Coleslaw. Salad. The bread could barely contain itself. Haggis slice, sausage roll both great. Cakes the size of your head, well worth the type 2 diabetes. Would return.

We went to Lochgreen recently for a special family meal at night. I was really looking forward to it, as we hadn’t been before. The Taxi driver mentioned it was really busy on the way- a wedding on, but we got a nice welcome from reception when we arrived. The decor was quite a wow, and white linen tablecloths a nice touch, though a table with comfier seats near the window would have been nice if offered . The loud saxophone background musak was also a bit jarring. Waiting staff were nice and attentive however And the food and drink initially came quickly. It’s expensive and so there’s quite a big expectation. But the food though tasty was just lukewarm and we had to send our main course back to be heated up. My partners food came back with a ladle full of an unasked for sauce. And it all took a time . We were offered our coffees for free but I don’t think it made up for it or we’d go back. Toilets were nice but a wedding guest was changing a nappy on the toilet floor as she said there was nowhere else. So positives but a few negatives too

We came here to celebrate my dad’s life. The two bar staff were so fantastic, we were a group of 25 family and all received wonderful service from the staff at the bar. Service was quick and our cocktails were so delicious, it was a shame that the Manager/owner was quite stressed and rude. We were told that we were in the way and that cocktails were cancelled because they were too busy. There were tables reserved inside for only people who were eating, these tables remained unoccupied all afternoon. We would have eaten there however the Manager/owner was not very welcoming which is a shame. Big shout out to the bar staff well done and thank you for making us welcome. I think the owner should be a lot more welcoming and friendly it would have made such a difference.

Was ferner ärgerlich aufstößt ist fehlende Transparenz.
