Now live near Manchester but every time I visit the area I pop into Stuart's shop in St Andrews. Top of the agenda are the unbeatable steak pies which are vastly superior to the offerings down South. I always end up taking several to converts near where I live. They have been enjoyed as far away as the Isle of Man!! My work colleagues always ask when I'm coming up to Scotland so they can savour the pies that cannot be had down here. Remember Stuart and his dad from Tayport over 20 years ago. Definitely the best butcher around with very helpful staff.

What a way to start your day. The setting is perfect. Look out to the Old Course. Staff super helpful. You may see them after golf at the One Under Bar. Many options for breakfast. And they are accommodating for changes.

delicious, super healthy food. got a combo of 3 salads - lentils with roasted carrots, roasted potatoes and third was brussel sprouts with chick peas and a yogurt sauce. Will definitely return!

Been to the restaurant a few times and the food is always great. Staff are attentive and is reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend and will be back.

Ice cream amazing as always but it's lost the ice cream parlour feeling I loved. Hardly any tables, bar style seating, too high for my grandchildren. Missed the menu with Sundaes..trying to figure out your own sundae is tricky when there's a big queue behind you.

Great find: unassuming great wee place with friendly staff and decent nosh. Great value especially for St Andrew’s. We will be back.

Fun experience to visit this iconic pub. Been to the town many times but never managed to visit before now. Had eaten so did not sample the food but lots of happy diners around and food looked decent. Drinks on the pricey side but expected due to location. Nice outside area which I imagine would be packed in summer. Great addition to the old course hotel.

Takeaway. Haddock was meaty and tasty and not greasy. Chicken goujons were enjoyed but the chips were pretty bland, soggy and presentation of it all is just poor. Fish slapped on top of chips. Service good. Still a wee bit expensive due to location but better than Cromars

Typical Scottish service ! Employ young inexperienced staff and don’t bother with training. Wines that are hugely marked up but NO sommelier to advise or serve. Steak selection - Fillet or 🤨Fillet ! I find amateur service a common theme in supposedly top end restaurants/ hotels in most of UK. In Europe you can visit a revisit a restaurant after 10 years and probably be welcomed by same professional staff. Sommeliers who are sharp and knowledgeable offering great wines at reasonable markup’s. It doesn’t happen in UK. There was a young server at breakfast who looked like he still had the shirt he slept in that week on for work. My wife and I always come back from ‘5star’ UK short breaks with the same conclusion. No wonder we cruise ! Long live Seabourn , Crystal and Silversea they are worth every penny. Unfortunately unlike hospitality in our own country.
