Lovely friendly cafe offering a good variety of sandwiches, paninis, coffee, drinks and cake. Nice views of valley and golf course. Seating inside and out. I had a nut butter beetroot carrot panini, my partner had local ham and cheese sandwich. Both came with fresh salad. Parking area. Glad we spotted this by chance!

Took my 10 year old today. She loved it. Made quiche & Jan tarts from scratch. Excellent teacher, patient, informative & very encouraging. The quiche & Jam tarts are delicious. Can’t wait to go back next week. Would recommend!

This shed is miles down a single track road, in a beautiful setting but hardly in a commuter belt. It is so well stocked. Cakes - so many to choose from, hot and cold drinks, ice cream, fudge tablet. The caravan park further down the road must help with trade, but it is a great place and I hope it continues to flourish and the baker continues to bake (Oh and the cakes and tablet were fab).

Thank you for an excellent time at the Hide. I was very lucky to win a prize for the use of the Hide for the lunch 12-4 . we opted to bring our own food and myself and 9 friends enjoyed a lovely time. Mr B and Becky gave us all the help and support we needed and the barbecue was ready to use and we had a fabulous time. The views are amazing and the place is too ! We would defo recommend and we will be back to visit again

Now live near Manchester but every time I visit the area I pop into Stuart's shop in St Andrews. Top of the agenda are the unbeatable steak pies which are vastly superior to the offerings down South. I always end up taking several to converts near where I live. They have been enjoyed as far away as the Isle of Man!! My work colleagues always ask when I'm coming up to Scotland so they can savour the pies that cannot be had down here. Remember Stuart and his dad from Tayport over 20 years ago. Definitely the best butcher around with very helpful staff.

South side of Glasgow is starting to get a great vibe for fantastic independent coffee shops, but problem is almost all of them are on Victoria Road or Polloskshaw Road. I was walking from Glasgow Green to Queens Park, and was wanting to grab a morning cup of coffee, but all the usual places head to all mean taking a large detour, but when looking around I noticed a coffee shop appear on Cathcart Road. Great little coffee shop that is really inviting. Staff are excellent and will make your order fresh on the spot for you. Most certainly now firmly one of my top go to coffee spot in Glasgow now.

This small café/bistro operated varying limited hours and we were never entirely sure when it would be open. They also held bookable “themed” nights offering a taste of food from differing countries on occasion. Sadly having only recently discovered their very nice coffee and cake we followed this up with a lunch visit on 30 August 2024 only to discover of their plans to close the place permanently at the end of September 2024. It’s a pity since the food we had on this occasion was very good indeed. We both had chicken skewers Morrocan style, the tender juicy chicken pieces coated in a very tasty sauce which included fruit and all accompanied with a fresh salad with a lovely dressing. A very flavoursome dish overall. We followed this up with a giant decorative pot of tea for two served in china cups and some cake. My wife selected a “Lammington” - sponge cake coated in raspberry and coconut and served with double cream, whilst I had a portion of Blueberry & Lemon Tart with double cream. My wife was very happy with her choice and I found myself almost licking the plate despite it seems having been given 2 slices of the thin light pastry tart which was oozing with a delicious topping. Total cost was a reasonable £34. The owners in our experience were friendly and chatty and are moving on to other ventures based from their home. The place was busy at our lunch visit and there was a pleasant ambiance with satisfied customers enjoying their food and drink. Seems a pity that it won't be available in future. The single unisex toilet was very well maintained.

Just popped in for a Feta Salad. They accidentally put avocado in it, but asked if that was OK before serving it. It was more than OK - it was delicious - took the slight edge off the feta. Very tasty.

We have a delicious afternoon tea at The Snug today. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. The food was absolutely amazing. Lots of thought is put into the afternoon tea with a great choices of sandwiches, yummy homemade sausage roll, scone and lots of delicious sweet treats. I would highly recommend this just make sure to book in advance because obviously this needs to be prepared. Excellent value for money. Great atmosphere too.
