Completing a scouting mission for the second regiment of Sol outside of the area we needed some refueling, for the ship and ourselves. After ordering we unwillingly sat at a table that hadn’t been cleaned from its previous occupants, figured they would get to it swiftly. Our food arrived and the table still had not been cleared or cleaned. Offering to clean the table, 50% of it was wiped without much care for apology. Food was average, filling and generous. Staff were friendly but behind the well mannered wishes it was apparent they were understaffed for the demand. Thought about ordering a coffee but with the incessant screaming of the milk being burnt at the frother I thought I could begin hear the cows ancestors in the afterlife, begging for mercy. Archaic propaganda written on the walls about cash only, soon the economy will transfer to universal credits. Might be a shock.

Popped in on way back home on ferry. Ordered a latte, 2 rounds of toast (i.e 2 slices each) & a mug of hot water as we as purchasing a pack of cards. Paid £14 plus change. Cards £4.99, latte £3.40 which left £6.00 for toast & mug of hot water. The woman who served us, the senior member of staff, was rude especially when I pointed out I couldn't drink from that cup as she had handed me the mug not by the handle but by placing her fingers spread over the top of the cup where you drink. Was I overcharged for saying I couldn't drink from that cup? I don't know but what I do know is is that it was an absolute rip off especially when a round of toast on the ferry was only £0.75. If travelling back home on Larne ferry again, wouldn't recommend buying from the cafe.

At Robinsons Costcutter you can always be sure of delicious dishes especially their Pies which are quite expensive for the size but they are well filled unlike Barrs Pies which are very tasty but the meat content is so scant it's like it was smeared on with a knife, these are well filled with high quality beef or chicken.

I booked a table for four people for afternoon tea, as it was our friends birthday. From the minute we arrived we were treated like royalty. The two ladies serving us, (sorry I have forgotten their names), were so lovely and friendly. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. We had endless pots of tea and the two ladies even sang happy birthday to our friend when they brought out a plate with slices of mouth watering victoria sponge cake. A perfect day. I would thoroughly recommend Ballyrobin Hotel and Lodge for their afternoon tea. 5* service. We will definitely be back again. Thank you. 😊

Very poor hotel. I don't understand why it has 4 stars. It deserves 3 at most. The room is quite spacious without air conditioning which translates into discomfort because you have to open the window to get fresh air and outside the window is the Asda distribution center. I had the displeasure of staying for 5 nights. I paid for 5 breakfasts but only used one because they are served from 7:30. The breakfast was disgusting, it has nothing to do with food. No buffet only English breakfast .... the worst thing that can be. There are no taxis and if you do find one, you only pay in cash. When checking out, no one asked how your stay was.
