Monty's in Ballymoney

Completing a scouting mission for the second regiment of Sol outside of the area we needed some refueling, for the ship and ourselves. After ordering we unwillingly sat at a table that hadn’t been cleaned from its previous occupants, figured they would get to it swiftly. Our food arrived and the table still had not been cleared or cleaned. Offering to clean the table, 50% of it was wiped without much care for apology. Food was average, filling and generous. Staff were friendly but behind the well mannered wishes it was apparent they were understaffed for the demand. Thought about ordering a coffee but with the incessant screaming of the milk being burnt at the frother I thought I could begin hear the cows ancestors in the afterlife, begging for mercy. Archaic propaganda written on the walls about cash only, soon the economy will transfer to universal credits. Might be a shock.

Salad sandwiches came with unasked for big lumps of pineapple included. Bizarre. Very 'wet' and messy with loads of mayo, not 'a bit' as asked for. Dried herbs sprinkled over everything, sandwiches, soup, that's a new one on me. Veg soup was 'ok', found the greyish diced potato unusual. We left a lot of it uneaten. Might be alright here if you're a meat eater. Staff were nice enough but what was coming out of the kitchen.. hmm. We wouldn't go back.

Pretty average. Service as very pleasant and helpful when you have kids. The food is pretty plain with your burgers, sandwiches etc.

tasty food. good portion sizes, reasonable prices. friendly place. homely. definitely a little gem of a place and will definitely be back.

Decent range on the menu, and there's no problem swapping something from the fryup if you don't like it. Staff are efficient and have a good set up. Place is always busy too. Just a shame they don't take card payments but there are ATMs across the road.

Took advantage of the govt eat out to help out scheme - lunch for two was only £5.67. Just as plentiful, just as tasty (really good food as normal) and would have been more than well worth full price

Want a really great breakfast, cooked to order and served by friendly professional staff? Then you should be going to Monty's. Just cant fault this place. Easily the best breakfast in town right now, I can't tell you about lunch as I've only been for brekkie, but I'd imagine it's made with the same care and attention to detail. Keep up the food work, Chris & team!

Love Montys and I am giving it 5 stars great place for breakfast and the street parking Friendly staff and the place is spotless now for my gripe twice now I have been in and the 2nd time I left due to a very loud Gentleman who shouted to all in the cafe his conversations and chat was so loud On tgec2nd occasion I left because I couldn't even speak to my friend as the noise from his table was so bad it's a shame really as this is a place you want to go to and sit have a chat then go about your day and it's very off putting when a customer holds reign like this and I wasnt the only 1 an elderly couple left as well they spoke to me outside and said they stopped going into another cafe previously because of his behaviour saying that Montys is still getting g 5 stars for the staff and the food well done on your move from the main street.
