Its not often that you get someone who actually does care about the food he puts out... Mr D really does. Its his own business so its not some employee that couldnt care less. I do highly recommend the burgers but to be quite honest everything is good.

On Saturday, May 20, 2023 we were on our first day out of Dublin with our rental car. We were looking for The Dark Hedges but could not locate it on our in dash car GPS. So we stopped here for directions. We asked to use their private WiFi so I could look up directions n my phone and they kindly obliged us. This small place was quite busy with people eating breakfast. They also sell quite a nice assortment of pastries and fresh baked bread. The lovely aroma of the bread made us decide to buy a loaf. Thanks so much to the friendly staff here in helping out a couple of strangers. I highly recommend anyone traveling in this area to stop in. Very nice place.

!!*When the bar owner waves you in, YOU GO IN!*!! Local watering hole with the friendliest owner Daniel. He and the patrons were welcoming and shared the history of the bar est 1913!!!) and offered wonderful advice for travels. Best Guinness in the area! Drop by to say hello!!! 👋🏻

Nipped in on a Thursday night in February on way back home from Ballycastle. Haven't been in this bar for years in fact long before it was refurbished. Margo behind the bar was a great host and we enjoyed the banter with her. Bar clean comfortable and toilets spotless. Will call again

An oasis of old world charm in unassuming Ballinamore outside Ballymoney. This rambling cottage is totally charming and huge. There were 10 of us, but it could easily have held 20. Brilliant drawing rooms to sit in (complete with grand piano for a sing along), a fantastic well equipped kitchen ( it used to have a restaurant) and plenty of loos (even if we couldn't find the lights for the one near the kitchen until the eve of our departure.) The wall panels in the front hall tell the fascinating history of the place. The garden is really a series of glades intersperced with thickets leading down to the old mill. What a marvel it would be for children in summertime! Heating seemed good though to be fair it wasn't that cold for early October outside. Our bathroom was good with a power shower which I imagine worked well if you were more familiar with power shower controls, which I wasn't. It was fun trying to work it out anyway. This place is well worth the money if you have a large group.

A Hidden Gem! Every time I visit Ireland, my first stop is always A Bite Above in Ballymoney, and it never disappoints. This cute, cosy café is a true hidden gem, offering comforting, home-cooked food that feels like a warm hug. Whether you're popping in for breakfast, lunch, or just a snack, the menu has something for everyone. The customer service is top-notch. You can really feel the warmth and care of this lovely family-run business. They're always so welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you step through the door. And don’t even get me started on the homemade baked treats! The buttery shortbread is an absolute must-try – it’s to die for! Whether it's your first time or your hundredth, this place guarantees a wonderful experience every visit. Highly recommend!
