The chips were rotten the last time I was there very slow customer service usually a hit or miss 🥴

A cafe as it should be...pleasant surroundings, great food and great staff. Just love it. A real gem in the toon 👍🏻

Sullen, unhappy waitress. Mismatched cutlery and napkins were almost thrown on the table. The drinks order was wrong. The healthy fry was NOT. Definitely will not visit again. I have given 1 star because the toilet was clean and had hot water.

What a lovely friendly place to eat we called I'm today for breakfast. A lady who was taking the orders was so lovely and friendly (did not get her name ) . The food was so good too. Deff would go back again and worth a visit

We've often eaten here and the food is always good. But tonight's pan fried chicken with bacon and leek. Was outstanding.

I go most Sundays for a large roast beef dinner and it is delicious. Even had a rhubarb and custard dessert this week. Can’t beat it 👍👍

We had been travelling cost road paying £23 - £26 for an Ulster fry two drinks. Well here you can double the amount you will get compared to coast road places and the bill was £12.56. Joey's bar down the road opened at 11 am and a walk in the memorial gardens top of a lovey day. Watch out for the Guinness it's smooth and good.

A fantastic eatery it's great, from the menu to the food served to you, the food is beautiful well cooked plenty fully and at a reasonable price. The staff are lovely, I can't recommend this place enough.

The cafe had been redecorated looking well, the staff are great the service first class and food good. If your in Ballymoney give it a try.

This hidden gem is really popular with locals and for good reason. If you're looking for a good lunch/dinner or just a cuppa and one of their gorgeous caramel or lemon squares, then this is the place to go. I got their mini fry; my husband the "healthy fry" and we were well pleased. We've been here several times before and the service and food are really good...nothing fancy, but good down to earth food. They do "pensioners specials" which offer excellent value and on a previous visit my mum (88) loved her (very generous portion of) sweet and sour chicken with rice. There's also a proper "dinner" every day at a more than reasonable price. So, if you can manage the stairs, I would recommend this cafe.

You climb the stairs and you get a great welcome, sometimes you have to wait for a table which is a good sign. The food is delicious and you don’t have to wait long until it comes. The only gripe I have is tablecloths please change them other than that everything is clean.

Staff are very friendly and food has always been good. Great value for money. Sunday lunch is very good and very reasonable. Pensioners can eat here very cheaply. I would definitely recommend trying A Bite Above.

I have eaten here a few times. It's not posh, but they serve good food at a reasonable price. I tend to go for a late breakfast so see the other food options served and they look good!

Looks ok from the outside but when you have climbed the stairs to the cafe which is on the first floor and found a table things start to go downhill. The tables are covered with a greasy piece of vinyl and the menu cards get stuck in the grease if you put them down. The waitresses spend most of their time talking to each other and as a result service is minimal, and mistakes are made with the orders. The food is basic and presentation is non existent. I have had better food and service from a 'greasy spoon' transport stop on the side of the road.

Decided to have tea and toast whilst, my lovely wife visited her hairdresser. The café opposite had changed hands! I walked down the main street and found the A Bite Above café situated above some shops. Took the flight of stairs to the first floor. A clean and homely place, filled with the sound of happy chatter. I ordered a toasted soda scone and a pot of tea from a very pleasant lady. It cost £2 and was served like a banquet! All the time I was there, I noticed that the there was no food left on plates. A good sign!

Dropped in for breakfast one morning. Great Value small fry. Bread fried ( I like fried soda and potato bread rather than toasted) with not a hint of grease. Egg done to perfection with a runny yolk as requested. Good warm tea and coffee to heat you up on a cold morning. And a nice wee touch..... a taste extra to warm up our mugs half way. We were first timers. Staff were very welcoming and all seemed to be enjoying the interaction with customers. Very very clean bright dining space. I think the bill for us both was either £7 or £8. Fabulous value.

Was in here for lunch which was excellent I had chicken and ham pie and chips great portion nearly to much for me and I like my food but tasted so good I had to finish it they do very reasonably priced pensioner specials the staff are very friendly and service is quick the only drawback is their is a large flight of stairs to climb to get into the cafe but the food is worth it and it is always very busy

Great place for a breakfast, good wholesome food served by friendly staff. The place was busy on a very hot day outside and nothing was too much trouble.

As regular visitors to Ballymoney, we always make a point of popping into A Bite Above for lunch. The quality of the food is outstanding, hot and delicious. We love their Ulster Frys - always cooked to perfection and have a real home cooked flavour. The staff are to be commended for their attentiveness and friendliness. Wouldn't go anywhere else in Ballymoney for lunch - the fact that the restaurant is always jam packed is testament to the fantastic quality of the food.

Popped in for morning tea/coffee and scones. Friendly staff but service quite slow. Food average. Am reliably informed by one of the party that main meals are much better.

The food here is excellent. It has great quality food and the prices are very reasonable. Very friendly staff. The dinners are good sized portions you won't leave here hungry. A lot of choices to pick from the menu. The service is excellent and fast.

This is the best wee place in town if u want home cooked food..my partner and myself always go in at any times the good is first class ..the frys are so tasty ..my favourite is the skinny chips gougans while my partner takes the dinner of the day..

Si su buen aspecto comidas cocinadas casa fresca es el lugar, la comida es increíble que he comido aquí muchas veces y nunca pude quejarme. Any time I've eaten here the food has been good, and well priced. Staff are very welcoming. A hidden gem, as if i didnt know where it was, I'd have walked straight past it. Deffinately recommend

Have had both take away and dining in experiences here and on all occasions the food has been tasty and the staff always friendly. The dining area is spotless and the service has always been fast and presentation excellent.

Food here is great quality & very tasty, I luv their Sunday Lunch & ice cream sundaes, my grandchildren luv coming too & u definitely won't go home hungry as the portions are very generous

Tropezamos con esta joya de un café en un frío, gris domingo por la tarde. atraído por el delicioso aroma de cocinar en casa. La cafetería está sobre tiendas de Main Street se accede por un tramo de escaleras, pero la subida es bien vale la pena. Suspender cualquier reserva que pueda tener con respecto a la decoración, es pintoresco, impecablemente limpio y la comida es deliciosa, sabrosa, abundante y excelente relación calidad-precio. El personal es amable, sonriente y atento. En la tarde comimos aquí estaba lleno con diners. Muchas personas no pueden estar equivocados. Dan a esta cafetería. No te decepcionará.
