An oasis of old world charm in unassuming Ballinamore outside Ballymoney. This rambling cottage is totally charming and huge. There were 10 of us, but it could easily have held 20. Brilliant drawing rooms to sit in (complete with grand piano for a sing along), a fantastic well equipped kitchen ( it used to have a restaurant) and plenty of loos (even if we couldn't find the lights for the one near the kitchen until the eve of our departure.) The wall panels in the front hall tell the fascinating history of the place. The garden is really a series of glades intersperced with thickets leading down to the old mill. What a marvel it would be for children in summertime! Heating seemed good though to be fair it wasn't that cold for early October outside. Our bathroom was good with a power shower which I imagine worked well if you were more familiar with power shower controls, which I wasn't. It was fun trying to work it out anyway. This place is well worth the money if you have a large group.

On arrival we were lead into one of 2 drawing rooms before our food was ready, we were allowed to relax and take in the wonderful character of the house and have a wee look at the menu before ordering. One word describes the menu - WOW - Plenty of selection to please everyone! One member of our party was Gluten and Dairy Intolerant, they were accommodated for with lots of choice from their starter right through to their dessert! Once our food was ready we were lead into the dining room and served our delicious food. We were never rushed to finish any course. Definitely s good find and can't wait to return!

We were staying in this country house as part of a tour and ate in the 'country kitchen' style restaurant. Richard is an excellent host, full of chat and banter. The comfortable lounge was welcoming for a pre dinner drink, and Richard talked us through the menu and the various choices on offer. We went through to the dining room(s) and were surprised at the quaint layout of 'booths' providing privacy and a cosy feel. The starters were OK, but the mains were magnificent. Their butcher had supplied a magnificent piece of fillet steak which was perfectly cooked, right up there with the best, really really good. But not as good as the pork which was perfect, and was the best main course of our four day gourmet trip gorgeous sweet and savoury sauce. Dessert was unremarkable, and the cheeseboard was a bit of a disappointment. Nothing actually wrong or worthy of a complaint, but just not matching the standard of the rest of the excellent meal. Wine was good quality and well priced but the selection was a bit limited.

Excellent selection for vegetarians, gluten-free and pescatarian. The vegetable tagine was comparable to the tagines I've had in Paris and Istanbul. The chef provided a gluten-free version in addition to the standard fare. The fish dinner was also superb! The atmosphere was exquisite with Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone and Billie Holiday playing softly in the background at this historic home. Leaving the restaurant, however, feels dangerous as the driveway abuts a busy street with no visibility. The addition of a mirror across from the driveway to ensure safety when leaving would make this a perfect place for a special occasion.

We stayed here for three nights during May and had a wonderful time. It's a truly beautiful house with many period features, extensive gardens and spacious bedrooms. Our room had a mezzanine floor which our children loved sleeping on "away" from us! The owners are very welcoming and attentive, including Paddy, the black Labrador, who makes things feel very homely and relaxed. You can expect a hearty breakfast and a delicious dinner with fabulous wine should you choose to dine in the evening. Thank you for everything. I hope we get the opportunity to return one day! 😊

We have eaten here many times. The quality of the food is superb & the atmosphere is so relaxed. An old house with so much character. The owners, Richard & Trish are so welcoming & very knowledgable about both food and wine. Has to be tried. The bedrooms are very comfortable & the breakfasts are delicious. There is an outside area, undercover to have pre-dinner drinks or after dinner drinks/coffee which is so pretty. At night there are candles lit and a view of the garden. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

Discovered this gem by accident. My wife and I eat out most Friday Nights and this has been our best discovery yet. The food is divine, could not have asked for any better. From when we made the booking till we left for home the service was above and beyond without being to over powering or in your face. This is totally down to Richard and the rests genuineness. We were escorted into the parlour where the big open fire had been lit for us coming. We were then offered drinks and allowed to relax and view the wonderful menu. Once we select our menu choices a short time later we were taken to our dining room. Then the delightful cuisine started, from beginning to end the food was as good as it is possible to deliver. I highly recommend the Beef and the sharing dessert. We were never rushed but in fact the opposite we were genuinely actively encouraged to relax and enjoy our evening. It is our daughter and her new husbands first wedding anniversary shortly and we are going to book them in here to celebrate their first year together. If your looking for fine dining at its best look no further, Harmony Hill is the best available. Will be back to enjoy again in the not to distant future.

We had a very pleasant night at Harmony Hill. The food was very good. The drawing room was pleasant to have our pre dinner drinks in a proper crystal glass. The highlight of the night was the food. Simply as near to perfect as we would want it. The only downside was the rooms were filled with smoke to the extent it stung our eyes. Two old fireplaces had a really bed down draught The owners sister in law was very attentive to us and had avery warm humorous personality..not stuffy or formal. We are having family visit and will definitely recommend Harmony Hill.

This was our first visit to Harmony Hill, even though we live a five minute walk away! Upon entering Harmony Hill my partner just loved it, on the walls are pictures and clippings of the old mill in Balnamore. Richard made us feel very welcome and the pre-dinner drinks in the drawing room was a lovely touch. Now the food was delicious, my partner had a fillet steak which was cooked to perfection and my meal was lovely to. Even though we live so close I would love a stay for a over night.

Ate here twice while staying at the hotel. On both occasions the food was exceptional. The starter of home grown courgette stuffed with mushrooms was very tasty.Meat and vegetables were cooked to perfection. A good choice on the menu along with a good choice of wines at a reasonable price. The cheese board was one of the best I have tasted in a long time. It was served at the right temperature with a good selection of Irish cheeses with varying blue bits. Definitely eat here again.

My husband organised my 40th birthday party here with the help of Richard and his staff. I was made to feel welcome and valued from the beginning. As there were children in the party it was suggested that we avail of a separate dining room where we would be on our own to celebrate. All dietary requirements were adhered to and all effort was made to ensure all guests felt at home. On arrival we were shown into a separate living room with open log fire with double doors leading to what I can only describe as the most elegant dining area I've seen in a long while. The staff had gone to a lot of trouble to make the evening special from the start. The food was absolutely wonderful, everything cooked to perfection. The service was second to none Amanda was amazing a real credit and Richard made us feel at home. The children were extremely well catered for. I can't say enough about this restaurant and would finish by saying its a hidden gem and a must visit. We have dined here in the past and will definitely be returning. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

I've the last decade or so, we've only eaten here half a dozen times.Only real reasons for that is..... its only opened for dinner a few nights a week and It's a bit dearer than our usual dinner budget. We love this place though. Every time we go, we end up with another fantastic story to add to our anecdote collection. The hosts are so passionate about what they do, it's very easy to get swept along in the whole Harmony Hill experience. The menu is never a large choice. It's always a few dishes, whatever is in season, whatever is at market, whatever is at the butchers that day. But you can be rest assured that those 'few dishes' will be cooked to perfection. The food is amazing and will make you go wow. The bill will also make you say wow....but what the heck ......life can be short. We did book a room and stay over once. It was fantastic. It was winter time and the hosts had lit a real fire in the bedroom.I only recommend this place to friends of a certain ilk. It's a unique place and some folks get it but some folks are too narrow minded to see the specialness of the whole Harmony Hill experience. The folks that we've recommended it too......They love it as much as we do.I reckon we must be due another visit soon.......

Eaten here a couple of times over the years but went there last night with a family group. Cosy, shabby chic surroundings and an excellent menu. Thoroughly enjoyed by all. Will be back again without hesitation. Nice to find somewhere else to go on our doorstep. Grown up night out.

Went out for the first time in years to Harmony Hill, lovely secluded building in its own grounds. We were there for a 'special' meal for our wedding anniversary. We were greeted at the door by the host, transported into a relaxed lounge area - and settled into an ancient comfort first sofa and given the menu and drinks. 5 minutes in and already relaxed. The menu, whilst small, was worded like an adventure novel and filled us with anticipation. A drink and some storytelling later and off to the bijou dining room. Food was superb - couldn't be faulted. Pork cooked so well im not sure ill eat it anywhere else and a chicken dish that literally looked nearly as good as it tasted - it tasted good! Cheeseboards and desserts out of the way and we barely noticed wed been there nearly three hours - It was exactly what was wanted - an evening out with no stress. Now - Its not cheap, not even remotely, and there's no apologies made for it But i wouldn't hesitate to go back - the difference in quality for the sake of a few quid was apparent.

Loved the whole experience. A really beautiful, atmospheric old house. Lots of narrow passageways. Hidden doors. The host was the best thing on the menu. I asked for a glass of Chardonnay only to be informed that he didn't like it so didn't serve it he instead brought me a glass of another white wine which he informed me was a white Zinfandel and that if I didn't like it, I didn't have to pay for it. I had the steak which was beautifully cooked exactly as I liked it. The dessert was a simple apple crumble and custard but totally melted with great taste. Earlier I had asked for a Calvados and was told they only used that for the pork dishes in such a cheeky way that we were all in stitches. I thought I was going to burst with laughter when the host actually produced half a bottle of Calvados, liberally coated with flour, and invited me to help myself as the pork tenderloin had not been ordered that night. Completely enjoyable experience, great food well cooked, fantastic atmosphere and a superb host. Have added it to my special list of favourite eateries.

A unique experience. The menu is innovative, well presented and delicious. Much of the food is sourced locally and some even from the restaurant garden. The owners and staff provide a warm welcome for all with a fire glowing in the hearth in the sitting room, a good selection of wines and drinks from the bar and lots of local knowledge and craic. The dinning room has a cosy informal feel to it and the food is devine. This restaurant also has the advantage of bed and breakfast accomodation so no need for a designated driver! We have not yet stayed overnight but will be sure to take advantage of this service in the future.
