A Hidden Gem! Every time I visit Ireland, my first stop is always A Bite Above in Ballymoney, and it never disappoints. This cute, cosy café is a true hidden gem, offering comforting, home-cooked food that feels like a warm hug. Whether you're popping in for breakfast, lunch, or just a snack, the menu has something for everyone. The customer service is top-notch. You can really feel the warmth and care of this lovely family-run business. They're always so welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you step through the door. And don’t even get me started on the homemade baked treats! The buttery shortbread is an absolute must-try – it’s to die for! Whether it's your first time or your hundredth, this place guarantees a wonderful experience every visit. Highly recommend!

Enjoyed a very nice lunch in the Clock Tower, very efficient and friendly staff. We really liked the warm, friendly atmosphere in the cafe, highly recommend and certainly will call in again for lunch or a coffee.

Omg. I am an American in Northern Ireland for some golf. We wanted an authentic experience and found this amazing local bar. Trudy was a gracious host. Liam was on point on the music. He accommodated our American music interests - most notably Wonderwall. And then at the end of the night Liam played a nice little prank that sealed our love for this town and people. There was more but I’ll leave that unsaid. Trudy and Liam know what I’m talking about. Thank you!!!!

We stopped here for lunch en route to the North Coast. Will be giving it a big miss next time. Incredibly inefficient, understaffed restaurant. We queued for almost 45 minutes to be served. When we were finally at the check out and waiting to pay next my pensioner husband took a seat at a free table. ( there were very many available despite the queue). He was then subjected to an inquisition as to where I was in the queue, told he wasn’t meant to sit down at a table until served, asked how long he thought I would be etc. The table wasn’t clean and he asked if it could be wiped. We then waited a further 15 minutes to get a bowl of soup and a sandwich which were underwhelming and very average. Won’t be back!

Had a fabulous dinner at bridge bar highy recommend the tapenade to start & prawn stir fry for main Great atmosphere. Staff friendly and attentive. The restaurant has recently been renovated. it's very stylish, & modern but still a country pup vibe.
