Kiwi's Brew Bar

Royal Portrush, Coleraine
23/02/2020: I went out with my friends to celebrate my 18th birthday, have some food and some drinks. After about 30 minutes, one drink in and eating our food, the bartender came up to our table and told us to get up and leave while still eating. He took our food from us and said that if we don’t leave he will throw us out himself. Poor customer service and very rude.
12/02/2020: A good small bar centrally located with good beer and the basic pub food is even better and with generous portions. Our numerous visits over a weekend would have been more enjoyable had one

Anzac Bistro

Glentaisie, Moyle, <20£
01/03/2020: Having eaten at the Anzac Restaurant, Ballycastle, it doesn't at all surprise me that the restaurant is the holder of a Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence. I called to the Anzac at 3:00PM, not realising that the evening menu only commences at 4:00PM. Nonetheless, the manager very graciously allowed me to choose from the evening menu, whereupon I ordered the hake in prawns and chorizo, drenched in a beautifully flavoured tomato sauce. The very generous portion of hake was succulent, delicate, and melt-in-the-mouth. Although hake is a deep-sea fish, the Anzac serves Local hake that is responsibly sourced from an ancient deep-trench just off the Antrim coast, not far from Ballycastle Bay. It was easily the nicest hake dish I have been served in years. Service was friendly, with a smile, at all times. I would highly recommend the Anzac Restaurant, Ballycastle, and in particular, my best personal recommendation goes to their hake in prawns and chorizo, served in that a beautifully aromatic tomato sauce.
10/02/2020: My wife and myself had dinner there on Saturday night. Arrived early, so had a few pints downstairs in the bar. The staff were very polite. The steak was unbelievable. I haven't had steak as good as that in years. The sides were lovely too. Really quick service. We were in and out in 50mins and it was reasonably priced. Highly recommend it

Sleepy Hollow Restaurant

Mallusk, Newtownabbey
01/03/2020: Birthday lunch for my lovely lady and this is a must for such an occasion. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and food to die for.Started with the soup and it was delicious (my partner opted for the goats cheese panna cotta - just as good). andf then the braised rib of beef. To say it was tender and cooked to perfection would be an understatement - the meat just fell off of the bone. Mashed potato was smoother than the proverbial babies b.........Just one small comment, perhaps a little more garnish just to add a splash of colour. Will be back again and very highly recommend.
19/02/2020: Excellent food! Great service! And we managed to take advantage of this week special offer on dessert. Will be back. Thanks Sleepy Hollow.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Cafe Revive

Glenaan, Moyle, <20£
21/02/2020: Stopped off for a cup of tea and bite to eat! The owner is a lovely lady very friendly. We ordered scones french toast and beans on toast! The portions were generous and our children throughly enjoyed their lunch! The owner even gave my daughter her own miniature tea party and biscuits when she was finished! Great wee spot! A little hidden gem
08/01/2020: Thanks to all the staff for our wonderful Breakfast today. Great place for the Glens Men’s first meet of the year. Hopefully we will be back very soon! First time for me personally and I will definitely back!

The Rinkha

Island Magee, Larne
11/01/2017: I went here with my two children (aged 6 and 3) and my husband one Saturday afternoon as it is rare both myself and my husband are off work and can spend time with our children together. When we arrived, as children do, they both got very excited about being in a toy shop. Who I can only assume was the manager and his son, were standing glaring at my children. When I noticed this my I alerted my husband who then asked them if there was a problem, to which the manager replied 'can you control your children, there are other customers.' When I turned round there were another family sitting in the cafe area who also had very young children and therefore would understand the excitement. My husband then went and told the kids to come and choose what they wanted and once we ordered everything we wanted we were both totally gobsmacked at the price of a light lunch and this was without ordering ice cream as he rudely told us that transactions for ice cream was at the other till. When we went and sat down the mother of the other family approached us and said she was sorry for interrupting our lunch but she overheard what had happened and said that when they arrived her and her husband were also told to keep their children under control!!!!! For a 'family-run business' this is NOT a family friendly place to be!! Seriously what do they expect when they sell toys and ice cream!! After this experience we will not certainly NOT be back here. To be honest, it's his lovely staff I feel sorry for.

mclarnons RAMBLE INN

Massereene, Antrim, <20£
23/02/2020: We called in off the cuff for a lunch while travelling. Lovely place, helpful staff. The other half had pie of the day, chicken and ham and loved it. My monkey had a hotdog twice the size of his face, chips and ice cream. He had not a chance of eating it (at 3), but very much enjoyed all he ate. I has vegetable soup, which was not to my taste, but I don't think they even charged for it, despite the fact that there was nothing "wrong", I just didn't like it. I could not even identify the thing I didn't like, but the bread was lovely and all in all, we had a good meal. We would go back.
20/02/2020: Friendly staff. Cozy ambience. Entire meal was excellent as was the service. Definitely will be back

Brown's Coffee Co.

Ballyclare South, Newtownabbey
15/05/2020: I always think the menu here is a bit limited, but it is a small place and I guess you are better doing less and doing it well that having lots of options. I particularly like the sausage roll and the coffee is always good. They don't open on Saturday, which is a little strange for a coffee shop, but I guess there is a reason for that.
11/02/2020: Love Brown's for their coffee. We can book the cosy meeting room which is comfortable and private for my staff meetings. Look forward to going on my own as well. Staff are lovely.

Royal Portrush, Coleraine
03/10/2019: Morellis is an institution and rightly so! Great ice cream, friendly staff and quick service. Quite expensive but definitely worth a visit
24/08/2019: Not been in Portrush in 35 years, popped in for a post burger dessert, wow, truly great gelato, very enjoyable, maybe their ice cream (double cream vanilla and chocolate, chosen, about 16 flavours available) is more creamy than that made in Italy, but equal to it in every way, good value too, 15 or so outlets in the North East, recommended.

The Cosy Chair

Rostulla, Newtownabbey
25/02/2020: This delightful coffee shop will be sorely missed It was a pleasure to visit the cosy chair - the selection of freshly baked scones, cakes, and tray bakes was second to none - served on pretty china in lovely homely surroundings. As one of your many wonderful genuine reviewers said - a little gem !
04/12/2019: I used to frequently visit here and loved it. Simply amazing scones. Unfortunately in the last month or so the scores have not been anywhere near as nice and have been quite dry. The portions of jam you get are decreasing.I'm hoping things pick up again otherwise I will have to look elsewhere and I will miss the nice scones.

Wee Cottage

Garvagh, Coleraine
27/12/2019: Run by local lady who has plenty of local people visiting her non stop. amazing homemade veg soup . its inside a converted tiny cottage with old fireplace and decked out with vintage bric a brac. lovely
23/09/2019: Initially just wanted a coffee but ended up having a scone too. Have to say it was the best scone I had ever had, so much so I went back for another a couple of days later!

Babushka Kitchen Cafe

Royal Portrush, Coleraine
03/01/2020: I have been a regular customer at Babuska for years. I absolutely love the food. I was in today with my daughter who got her usual pancake breakfast and I got smokey beans. I was served by a girl with long dark hair. I have read some negative reviews about the staff and I know there were some small problems earlier in the week due to stock but I am also aware that George and the staff has suffered a bereavement of a close friend and I believe that may have contributed to These issues. George the staff couldn't have been more helpful today and the girl who seemed to be running front of house was excellent and sorted me some extra requests with a smile on her face. Keep up the good work everyone Jill and Sarah
29/12/2019: I have been coming here since it opened. In spite of myself at times, I rave about it to everyone. I tell guests that rent our property, yards from the front door, that this is the best eatery in Portrush....and it is. However, the insistence on refusing to add the most basic of additional items to their dishes is the most frustrating thing. The menu indicates that this will only be a problem at "busy times" but both myself and others have been left slightly dumfounded at the till at times when the place is half empty and there is a refusal to place a slice of bacon on top of their gorgeous sourdough with avocado and cherry tomato toast. Today, this peculiarity was further exposed when I overheard a customer request precisely that - a slice of bacon on top of the sourdough and avocado toast only for the guy to be told, not that they don't have any bacon, but that their stocks were low and so they were keeping the bacon for other dishes. The customer, whom I recognise as a local and doubtless therefore a regular, clearly thought twice before staying and ordering something he didn't in fact really want! I realise that chefs and proprietors are proud of their dishes but it always feels in this place like the customer isn't right. It genuinely makes me think twice about coming back and recommending to others. I have addressed my frustration with staff before on the issue but it seems like they don't have any appetite to change (no pun intended). I will go back, because I love the food and the coffee is the best on the North Coast. But I just wish the "attitude" would shift a little.

Adelphi Bistro

Royal Portrush, Coleraine
16/02/2020: We were staying next door in the Atlantic who run out of the dishes we had ordered and ended up going to the Adelphi for evening meal. Blessing in disguise as the food was great and a superior menu compared to next door, great portions and desert was 110%
12/02/2020: Dined here last weekend. Food was excellent, very generous portion sizes too. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Very nice relaxed atmosphere, very comfortable lounge for a few after dinner drinks.

Mauds Ice Creams

Killycrot, Carrickfergus
19/12/2019: An impromptu visit but worth the effort. Coffee and cakes all well done and well served. Didnt't try the ice creams. Too cold.
06/11/2019: Just called for a "take away" with my grand daughter, the staff were excellent and patient as my grand daughter couldn't see the forest for the trees of flavors . When we decided on our choice the wait was worth it, the ice cream was absolutely delicious.

The Vines

Garvagh, Coleraine
14/02/2020: Stopped off at The Vines today, it was our first visit. The food was beautiful, generous portions & varied menu. The staff so friendly and accommodating and the surroundings modern, warm and welcoming. The owner Brenda is a lovely lady. We will certainly be recommending The Vines and will be back.
01/02/2020: We had a lovely meal! Declan looked after us & went the extra mile to ensure our enjoyment. I would certainly recommend this restaurant. 🙂
