Cafe Revive

Glenaan, Moyle, <20£
09/11/2018: I went in for breakfast again yesterday and had my usual toasted soda bread with poached eggs - complemented with two delicious americanos! This is a small cafe, very comfortable, warm and cosy, home-made food/cakes/scones, always fresh and delicious. Cannot recommend this place highly enough! Try it!
27/10/2018: Came here for breakfast, tea and scone! Was lovely, food was good and the staff where friendly and accommodating. It’s a gorgeous we hidden gem and is like going out for a high tea party!

Sleepy Hollow Restaurant

Mallusk, Newtownabbey
17/12/2018: We had been bought a voucher for Sleepy Hollow and visited on Friday evening. I am sorry to say that it was the worst meal I have ever been served in any restaurant. We ordered the soup to start which was basically water with a few vegetables floating in it in the smallest saucepan shaped dish I have ever seen. For the mains we ordered turkey and ham which has to be the worst turkey and ham we have ever had. The ham was non existant, the turkey was stuffed with a porridge like substance and the potatoes for what we got of them were burnt. The cost was £65.00 for a meal that wasn't worth £10.00. We didn't complain as we had the voucher and so we only had to put £15.00 towards it but the server knew we weren't happy as the plates went back practically full. We just decided not to go back again and hopefully no one will get us a voucher for there again.
11/12/2018: Our work went to Sleepy Hollow for our Christmas party . We had a brilliant night with good food and homely atmosphere.

The Rinka

Island Magee, Larne
14/11/2018: This place without a doubt is an ice cream lovers dream!! The cues out the door speak for themselves!! The ice cream is homemade and the choice of flavours are amazing!! I would highly recommend the honeycomb. There is a small seating area inside and out. The shop itself is full of unusual things, from toys to white spirits! It’s very good value and a must when in Island Magee.
24/10/2018: We were doing the Gobbins cliff walk with some folks there were local and told us to stop here for ice cream! Worth the stop and the ice cream was outstanding! Stop here!!

Kiwi's Brew Bar

Royal Portrush, Coleraine
07/11/2018: Kiwis is great for real ale and their chicken wings! Great burgers and dirty fries too! Highly recommended! Kris who owns kiwis is ace too, full of knowledge , plus he’s always getting in limited edition ales. Little gem on the north coast.
06/11/2018: Sports bar with full movie screen and TV screens.good food freindly casual staff.Bar meals and snacks.Have their own brewed beer.

mclarnons RAMBLE INN

Massereene, Antrim, <20£
15/12/2018: Visited for first time today with my wife and our friend. Cosy, warm, traditional interior with roaring fire, sash windows, beams etc - you get the idea. We ordered a turkey and ham dinner, a chicken dish and I ordered Chicken Maryland. It came with 2 fillets, gammon, corn, peas, char grilled fresh pineapple wedge, tomato, mushrooms and choice of side. Really great quality meal - proper comfort food at it's best. We will be back. Great job everyone.
13/12/2018: We stopped here for a family dinner and were not disappointed, The pub restaurant has a lovely cosy atmosphere and the staff were very welcoming. It is a family run business and the food is freshly cooked to order from the extensive all day menu. I opted for the Turkey and Ham with fresh vegetables and roast and mash followed by a home cooked mince pie and coffee for £11.95. We all enjoyed our meals and will definitely visit again.

Brown's Coffee Co.

Ballyclare South, Newtownabbey
29/11/2018: This is a nice quaint coffee shop in Ballyclare. Their homemade soup is usually great with plenty of crusty or wheaten bread with it. Will definitely be back.
08/11/2018: Absolutely love this place!! It’s the personal touch that makes it!! I go in and they know exactly how I take my coffee! Always friendly and amazing service!! They even know that my mum takes her coffee the exact same way as me!! Would highly recommend!! It’s a must visit when in Ballyclare!! Warm welcome!!

Wee Cottage

Garvagh, Coleraine
20/10/2018: We had lunch here after visiting Dunluce Castle. While this is definitely not a 5*restaurant it deserves a 5 circle rating for doing well what it is supposed to. We had a great lunch of homemade soup and bread. We didn't partake but the scones and pastries looked fabulous and people were ordering coffees that were nice sounding. The tables were comfortable and the space was immaculate. If you want a quick, cozy, delicious lunch this is the place.
11/10/2018: We have eaten scones and tea all over the earth at this point and nothing can beat the experience at the Wee Cottage with its view of Dunluce Castle, the warm welcome at the counter, asking my husband "Shall you be Mother?" on delivering our tea....this is the most unforgettable place and experience. My husband and I had the scones and it was all wee needed for lunch with tea.....our daughter had a bite of them and then a great sandwhich on homemade bread. We bought a few cards, our daughter bought a print, and we left with wonderful shortbread that we enjoyed back home in the US!! Only sad part was that I left behind my beautiful large shawl that I knitted just to wear in Ireland....

Anzac Bistro

Glentaisie, Moyle, <20£
05/12/2018: The second time we have visited. From the service to the starter to the main course the food was superb a definite recommendation for anyone.
28/11/2018: Was over in Ballycastle with some friends who were visiting Northern Ireland for the first time. Had some drinks in the bar on the Friday night and then some food afterwards. We selected from the dinner menu and bar menu and ate at a table beside the bar. Everything was absolutely fantastic, my Philly Cheese Steak was the best ever and with garlic fries and onions etc only a tenner. Everyone else was more than satisfied with theirs, so much so that we decided to eat there again on the Saturday night. One of my friends tried the hake, which he had never tried before and wouldn't have done so had he not had such a lovely meal the night before (chicken parmigiana). He was not disappointed, it was delicious as was the rest of our meals. Very reasonably priced, and very good and friendly service. Will definitely be back

Rumours Coffee House

Killycrot, Carrickfergus
22/09/2018: This little coffee/pastry shop is across the street from the Carrickfergus Castle and serves good coffee. Didn't try the pastries. He even put some whipped cream on the top of my coffee for me in lieu of skim milk.
27/08/2018: 3 rd visit - the best scrambled eggs and bacon anyway. Staff very friendly and efficient and relaxed atmosphere.

The Cosy Chair

Rostulla, Newtownabbey
11/12/2018: Called in today for an afternoon treat. This place has a warm cosy atmosphere. It wasn't too busy and we were able to choose where to sit. There is a lovely choice of home baked goods - cakes, traybakes, scones and shortbread. As a coeliac, I knew they usually have a good choice of gluten free items and I wasn't disappointed today. There were several different types of scones, shortbread, and choice of traybakes. I chose a peanut butter blondie traybake which was delicious. With a large pot of tea, it was a perfect remedy for a gloomy day.
26/11/2018: Introduced my future daughter inlaw to the cosy chair and she loved it and went back of her own accord with her mum.

New Society

Central, Coleraine, <20£
14/11/2018: We heard about this cafe from the Taste Causeway Festival booklet and went to look for it. The menu and specials were interesting and the local ingredients were appropriately credited. We enjoyed the dishes we ordered and the prices were very reasonable for the quality of the ingredients and cooking
28/09/2018: New Society breakfast is made to please with the likes of scramble eggs with smoked salmon on toasted bread of your choice, omelette as you want it as there is a vast selection, smoked cheese with ham and mushroom or curitso mushroom and onion. My father in-laws favourite is the Ulster fry and a pot off Belfast tea. Food is one thing as it can be the very best but unless you have cheerful staff who attend to you with a warm smile and nice banter in my opinion both complement each other.

Montys' ballymoney

Route, Ballymoney
02/10/2018: Popped in for a cheer myself up full barnyard breakfast and I was not disappointed.
17/08/2018: A delightful, old-style cafe serving satisfying portions of well-prepared food to a loyal (mostly local) clientele - and the odd visitor like ourselves. The staff are very friendly and efficient. They have a comprehensive menu, including vegetarian options and kids, all at extremely competitive prices. A lovely place to visit while in Ballymoney and highly recommended.

Marys Bar

Glebe, Magherafelt
17/12/2018: Was at Mary’s yesterday for a booked group dinner. It wasn’t busy. 3 of our group sent dinner back to be reheated, they all should have been sent back. Dinner was mean & disappointing - one person had 2 Brussel Sprouts on their plate & there was no cocktail sausages on any plate. The highlight of the dinner was the extra roast potatoes we asked for because they were hot unlike the rest of the dinner! Very disappointed - won’t be in any hurry back!!
14/11/2018: Lovely place, helpful friendly staff. Delicious food. Generous portions. Caesar salad is the best I’ve ever tasted and I can’t wait to visit the area again so I can have more!

Season Coffee Shop, Grow Garden Centre

Eden, Carrickfergus
07/11/2018: Food and service both very good. Very retro in furnishings but makes good use of the old warehouse building.
06/11/2018: Location a bit of track, poisoned behind the recycling plant. However don't let this distract from this wonderful all Season cafe and boutique shop. The staff are welcoming, fit selection ample & quality enjoyable. Drive up the road pass the tip & enjoy this hidden gem!

Crusoes Coffeeshop

Castlerock, Coleraine
29/10/2018: We decided to stop off in Crusoes Coffee shop after a lovely spa visit to Bellisle spa. Have to say the ghostly rocky road and rice crispy pumpkin where lovely and the staff as usual where so helpful and friendly. A lovely place to chill out and relax, thank you.
08/10/2018: Great breakfast in a lovely setting. Inviting staff with fast and lovely service. Granolla was super tasty!
