Sleepy Hollow Restaurant

Mallusk, Newtownabbey
10/06/2019: Great spot for an evening meal with the family. Great drink specials and the food is very good. Fast friendly service. Delicious dessert menu. Worth a try. Ring ahead for a reservation.
07/06/2019: Not often I’d want to give a 6 out of 5 but this was it. Great setting, lovely cosy ambience and stellar food. Main courses all fantastic. Not one morsel of food left between the 4 of us. Deserts were divine and with ‘mini serves’ we could have two each. No more agonising about what one to choose . Not a scintilla of disappointment

Cafe Revive

Glenaan, Moyle, <20£
11/05/2019: As holidaymakers based in Cushendall, we had tea and scones on 2 days and breakfast on another day. The service was very good and the owners and staff were very friendly. The food was very good and was value for money. A great place for tea, coffee and scones or a light meal.
08/05/2019: Very welcome meal in the middle of the afternoon, but that wasn't a problem. We had delicious soup with homemade bread, and the desserts were very good too nice little place !!

Morelli's to Go!

Portstewart, Coleraine, <20£
21/05/2019: I make it a point to try ice cream in all the countries we visit. We have traveled around the globe and this is by far one of the very best ice creams I have eaten. I always get plain vanilla so I can be sure to truly taste the ice cream and be able to compare with other countries. This ice cream is so good - it is worth a trip back to Ireland!
13/04/2019: Great selection of home-made ice cream. Every flavour you could want and all delicious. Newly renovated. Staff very pleasant and welcoming

Anzac Bistro

Glentaisie, Moyle, <20£
02/06/2019: This was by far our favorite dinner spot in Ballycastle. The restaurant is clean and comfortable and the service was very good. The manager checked on us several times to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. The food was excellent. I really enjoyed my chicken parmigiana. My parents said their meals were great as well. Nice selection of beers and wines. Reasonable prices.
30/05/2019: We both chose the king prawns to start and what good choice! Plump, fresh and soooooo tasty! The accompanying home made bread was equally delicious. Our mains of steak and mussells were beautifully cooked and presented. Service was excellent. A geat meal for our last night in Ballycastle.

The Rinkha

Island Magee, Larne
28/05/2019: Staff friendly and helpful, coffee and food expensive. A small vanilla tub of ice-cream with one scoop is almost two pounds. poor value.
19/05/2019: Travelled over 30 miles to receive the most appalling customer service. We arrived more than 10 minutes before closing time and the staff were obviously itching to get away. The staff member at the ice cream counter had to be prompted to serve us even after I had asked her personally if it was too late to get ice cream (to which she unenthusiastically said "no"). Won't be in any hurry to come back.

Wee Cottage

Garvagh, Coleraine
31/05/2019: While on a full day tour from Belfast, our wonderful guide Michael Lyons from Tours by Locals, called ahead and arranged for a table for our group of 6. Really enjoyed the homemade tomato soup, chicken salad sandwich, and the scones! Very friendly staff and great service. Such a great addition to an already unforgettable day!
26/05/2019: Soup of the day and the fresh made scone are wonderful, never had these before. Home feel environment. Should come again.

mclarnons RAMBLE INN

Massereene, Antrim, <20£
20/05/2019: Was our first visit but will certainly not be our last. Nothing whatsoever to fault. FOOD-ATMOSPHERE-SURROUNDINGS-CLEANLINESS AND STAFF ALL FIRST CLASS !!!!! All at a reasonable cost.
18/05/2019: Stopped in after the North West 200. Service was prompt and food was fantastic. Chicken Caesar salad, chicken curry, and goujons. All were cooked appropriately and very tasty. Friendly staff. A gem.

Kiwi's Brew Bar

Royal Portrush, Coleraine
01/06/2019: Guinness in a plastic glass?! There should be a law against this. Travelled the length of Ireland & have never been served this before.
29/05/2019: A must stop when visiting Portrush. Great pub food and staff and a great place to watch your favorite team on the TV!!

Marys Bar

Glebe, Magherafelt
30/05/2019: I don’t even like mushrooms as they remind me of dead slugs, but these garlic mushrooms are like little morsels of heaven smothered in the most tasty, creamy, cheesy, garlicky sauce that is making my mouth water at the memory. Dunking sweet potato fries in aforementioned sauce is just off the charts amazing and I would highly recommend it. If you don’t like sticky toffee pudding then quite frankly there is something wrong with you psychologically, but this is the best I’ve ever had, laced with lashings of toffee sauce and ice cream. I left feeling about a stone heavier but oh so satisfied. It’s a five hour drive from Kilkenny but don’t worry, in the words of Arnie himself...I’ll be back.
12/05/2019: Excellent food, staff and entertainment last Friday. Our party was made up of friends who had never been out in Magherafelt-they loved Mary's and were very impressed. A fabulous night! Definitely will be back.

Killycrot, Carrickfergus, <20£
16/04/2019: Sozo's food is excellent and the staff cannot be more helpful. Really great spot for a small function, Christmas party etc. Very accommodating.
08/04/2019: Used to work here, went back a few days ago to have a coffee and scone with my friend and was surprised at how down hill it’s gotten. The soya cappuccino had no flavour and was lumpy??? Either cheap soya milk or it was out of date, I’d rather die wondering which of the two it was. The foam had clearly been spooned out of the jug and onto the cup. No design, but rather a mountain of frothy out of date milk with chocolate powder to try and mask the mess (I’ve attached images). The plain scone was homemade but had been sitting a while so had gone stale, but it was then microwaved so the outside was like a rock and the inside soft and gooey, farrrr too moist. The interior of the shop was dirty and really untidy, not sure when it was last cleaned? Certainly not that week anyway. What was supposed to be a peak time for the shop (12pm-1pm) was dead, there was our table and one other table in the shop. Only complaint about the staff is the new girl? She’s English I think, has no customer service skills and was rude to us the whole time. Maybe a vendetta against me, who knows lol. £9 for, frankly, two coffees I couldn’t drink but rather chew, and a scone which was somehow rock solid and dry yet soggy and soft in the centre. Wish I had went somewhere else lmao.

The Cosy Chair

Rostulla, Newtownabbey
19/03/2019: Called here for cuppa and got a really big muffin it was gorgeous the place is gorgeous and staff lovely would reccomend it well worth a visit ..great value for money ..
12/02/2019: This is a lovely quaint cafe. We googled anywhere for lunch close by and this did not disappoint! Despite it being more a cake, scone and sweet place they did lovely home made soups with delicious breads. Good find. Thank you

Brown's Coffee Co.

Ballyclare South, Newtownabbey
31/05/2019: There is plenty of choice for coffee shops in ballyclare these days but this one remains my favourite for its intimate interior, friendly staff and the best coffee!!! You also won't get a nicer scone, caramel square or almond bakewell slice in the country. Don't miss it.
10/05/2019: The staff, the people, the food and the obviously the coffee is fantastic! I use browns for business meetings and on a social basis. The best in Ballyclare Also great wifi

Mauds Ice Creams

Killycrot, Carrickfergus
16/05/2019: As per title. Though over the years they've been forced to change the name - I still cannot pass by when visiting and asking for my dose of Pooh Bear ice cream. Always wonderful. 😁🐻❤️
06/05/2019: Four years since last visit but still up to the high standards I've come to expect . Choice of ice cream was great and Pooh Bear still as Good.. can't wait to go back....

Adelphi Bistro

Royal Portrush, Coleraine
03/06/2019: We have eaten here quite a few times and food is always pretty consistent. As with many Northern Ireland restaurants, pretty much everything is fried or battered, the restaurant is always busy so I guess that’s the food locals like.
29/05/2019: The restaurant was ok, as we were staying at the hotel we had breakfast the twice but also eat there the both nights we stayed. We visited the bistro on our first night staying at the hotel. Service was Not good, the Waitress got my son’s meal of chicken nuggets, chips and beans totally wrong. I had chips with my meal, yet half of them were burnt to a crisp. Order more drinks, waiter came with them and said here’s the bill. we said, no we haven’t paid yet and they should be added to our bill, the waiter seemed very put out that we didn’t want to pay separately.

griddle bakery & coffee House

Portstewart, Coleraine
13/03/2019: Pick up a few sausage rolls cakes and pasties on your way back to the house or caravan....nice. Sit in too, for a coffee and a nice bun...or two!
21/02/2019: A little hidden gem that we frequent when up in the area. Good cheap food - cornish pasties, pizza on soda bread (if you're not from Northern Ireland, don't ask), sandwiches, soup, lots of lovely buns and good tea and coffee. Small sit in area. On a side street off the west side of Portstewart main street, opposite Dominican.
