Best flat white I’ve had in a long time- what a gem. Brownies are excellent, staff super friendly and knowledgeable and it’s a cosy oasis. Jealous of anyone who’s got coffee on the crescent as their local!

Fantastic hotel. Very clean, breakfast to die for, and great staff. Only a 10 minute walk to the town centre.

Here for a wedding anniversary, lovely atmosphere and a nice point too. Really friendly staff

We had a family birthday meal here for 12 adults and 1 child and was asked to preorder food but on the night of the meal 2 adults had to take the child to a&e with respiratory problems and when I told the staff they said I still had to pay for the 3 meals even though they were at the hospital and 10 adults still had their meals, not wanting to cause a fuss on our family members birthday I paid and even though we have eaten there on a lot of occasions in the past we have not returned and nor shall we as the lack of compassion from the staff upset me and when our other guests found out they said they will not be returning either.

Cosy, intimate environment, good food, good friends, great location for aperitifs and short walk into city.

Lovely staff--nothing too much trouble. Tried a cake similar to a fat rascal but more moist with lots of almonds/pistachios.

Food and service are excellent We went early evening for their evening special. The choices were very good. We had the tartlet for starters and it was to die for, the pork was excellent, we finished off with the meringue and we were full up

I have been in Great Ayton for a few days and visited the chip shop twice, I have gave it 5 stars for good reason. Shop is immaculate and so clean, staff are so polite and helpful, but finally the food quality is superb. The cost for the food is also really good, opening times vary but if you are in the area, go visit it, as you will not be disappointed.

Pros 1 Very nice room 2 Big 3 Bath is great Cons 1 No takeaway food in room stupid rule had we have known before we booked we wouldn't have as you on holiday you may like a takeaway but no £50 fine as More cleaning required I'm sure more people would want to eat takeaway in room 2 Freezing we got a extra duvet on night two 3 Window was annoying to much draft and also noisy again sorted for night two some may be just here for a night mind
