The Hidden Tearoom in Selby

We took a bit of a detour from our journey South to visit The Hidden Tearoom, and what a great choice it was! So many delicious homemade goodies and a very warm welcome from Edi. The Scone-wiches (cheese scone with bacon, onion marmalade, cream cheese and salad) were fabulous and there were too many lovely cakes and puddings to choose from. Highly recommended.

Found this place on the Internet as some where to go out on the trike. Staff very friendly and informative. Food excellent, we had the sharing platter for two. Take out box required. Definitely a lovely find.

Visited a number of times before and always been good but not this time, maybe an off day? Soup was watery and no taste, chocolate brownie was dry, toastie was ok. Overall I didn’t think this was good value for money.

Can highly recommend The Hidden Tearoom Whether you are on your own or with family and friends there is always an amazing welcome from Edi and her lovely team The food is second to none ~ no matter what your dietary requirements are !

Perfect breakfast every time. The full English sets you up for the day. Staff and owner make you welcome and prices are very competitive.

Superb hidden gem for breakfast instead of stopping at a service station .Breakfast was freshly made with lovely thick cut slices of bread .Teapot was refilled to give us 3 cups of tea each Superb value for money .Staff were so friendly and welcoming.The nursery has closed but the tearoom hasnt.Menu looks appealing for other things

Four of us and Izzy the Black Labrador went here to celebrate a 77th birthday. 3 of us had the afternoon and the other 1 a sandwich. The food was lovely and fresh and beautifully presented. The tea room was busy which is good to see. Plenty of car parking.

Visited with daughter and granddaughter for birthday treat. Booked table previously. Lovely atmosphere and good layout of tables. Very friendly staff and nothing is too much bother for them at all. Food was lovely. Fresh and hot and not too expensive. Really good menu choice and also specials board. Certainly recommend this tearoom and we will definitely go back for more. This is one of our local cafès and it is our favourite place to go for lunch, afternoon tea or a spot of cake with a hot chocolate. Always welcoming. Edi and the team are friendly and attentive. The food is always fabulous and its great value for money. Always lots of events happening throughout the year too so something for everyone.

Wonderful meal again at this lovely tearoom. Had the farmhouse platter and homemade desserts which were gorgeous. Fab food and fantastic service from all staff

A wonderful place to Eat and Relax. Food was exceptional, staff were very polite and efficient. The Room itself is set out so as you don't feel cramped with plenty of Spacing between the Tables. The whole place is spotless and very cosy. It was our first visit but will be revisiting.

Booked in for an Afternoon Tea for our wedding anniversary. Welcoming, friendly staff. Delicious selection of sandwiches and homemade cakes. We were quite stuffed, very satisfied, couldn't manage all the cake selections brought them home in a doggy bag. Thank you to Debbie who looked after us, and all the staff busy in background. Recommended, will visit again. Advisable to book!

My husband and I went yesterday.I asked if there was room for two and a mobility scooter,and they were so helpful.The food was delicious,and a lot of choice.There is a disabled toilet,and easy access for scooter.We will be going there again soon.Would definitely recommend.

nice staff, the cafe could do with softening a bit with the furnishings. its very echoey and sounds very noisy when a few people are in.

Visited today, all three members of the family had something different. 1. Large salad bowl with ham 2. BLT on brown and 3. Ham and cheese melt. Presentation was excellent and ALL ENJOYED their lunch. Will DEFINITELY visit again.

There are some places which maintain standards despite the effects of COVID. Having visited and eaten here last year, I had to resort to takeaways to get my tearoom fix. The cakes are incredible, in particular the cherry and almond cake, and the hot food...

I have visited more than once to this lovely tearoom its friendly inviting and a delight to visit the food is all homemade and delicious I have also used as takeout with the food been well boxed definitely a 5 star from me

We visited The Hidden Tearoom this weekend for the first time and had Afternoon Tea. It was very tasty and had a variety of sandwiches and cakes, aswell as pork pie & sausage roll. We will definitely be visiting again❤️
