The best restaurants serving British food in Stocksbridge and Upper Don Sheffield Yorkshire and The Humber

It was wonderful to see the Ruddy Duck re-opening, albeit temporarily in the library - which was decorated beautifully for the evening. The 5-course tasting menu we enjoyed was exceptional, my particular highlights being the beef cooked two ways which came with a scrummy potato gratin and our dessert, a superb creation of rhubarb and ginger, showing off the best of local produce. The kale even came from the walled gardens at Wortley Hall! Our servers David and Brogan were both warm, friendly and knowledgeable about both the menu and the venue and we'll be delighted to dine here again. A week later and I'm still thinking about the homemade rhubarb cocktail that David created for me!

Fue genial estar de regreso para una comida en el interior aquí, la primera desde marzo, justo antes del cierre de Covid. Escuché que este lugar ha estado haciendo un buen trabajo al mantener a los comensales locales alimentados en casa durante el cierre y espero que ahora estén en un buen lugar para dar la bienvenida a sus clientes habituales. El personal es muy agradable y amistoso y me sentí muy seguro con sus estrictos procedimientos seguros de Covid y el buen espaciado de las mesas interiores. Esta vez probé su desayuno grande que viene con tostadas y té incluido en el precio de alrededor de 7. 50. Una vez más, todo estaba caliente, de buena calidad y cocinado a la perfección. Consiste en salchicha, tocino, huevo frito, morcilla, frijoles, champiñones, tomates ciruela y hash brown. ¡Seguro que volveré pronto!

We had a lovely Sunday lunch and pudding which tasted just like home cooking, Lovely Obliging Staff 👍had a few meals here already and always been tasty and highly satisfied.

Popped in on Wednesday evening for a mid week carvery, very good value for money at only £5.95. Very friendly couple running the pub, shame we are not local as we would come in every week. If we are in the area again we will definitely be popping in.

La comida estaba bien, pero no mucha comida vegetariana o comida vegana. Sin ensalada con opciones como queso, verduras asadas, pollo, pawan, salmón, filete (ect) sin platos de pasta. En otro pub he estado para tener un menú vegano, vegetariano aparte no hay información sobre lo que hay en los platos mucha gente tiene alergias y no te dice lo que hay en los platos tampoco hay cartel diciendo si tienes alguna alergia por favor ven a ver a un miembro del personal. Pudín bien, pero desafortunadamente encontré un pelo en mi pudín labrado un miembro del personal y nada se hizo al respecto decepcionado 😞. Bebidas muy caras en comparación con otros pubs. Incluso cuando John y Ben eran dueños del pub, siempre tenían una buena ensalada con todo lo que contiene más extra y siempre proporcionan para los veganos, vegetarianos ahora no es realmente nada, a veces simplemente no hay algo simple.

Great Sunday lunch, choice of 5 different meats. Roast potatoes, mash, carrot puree, broccoli, parsnips, Yorkshire pudding, stuffing. Great value for money. Good choice of starters and sweets. Friendly staff, both servers and bar staff.

Absolutely disgusting landlady needs manners attitude absolutly stinks don’t go here if you want friendly service , she needs to get better attitude towards people staff are friendly but her attitude stinks

Typical Costa. Nice staff on today but a bit busy with only 2 of them.

Nice place to stop for quality fish and chips, needs bigger parking but amazing if you're on foot locally or a walker, highly recommend.
