What a lovely country pub. All the staff are friendly and chatty and such a warm atmosphere. The food is absolutely delicious. Very well prepared, cooked perfectly, and well presented. The mushroom and brandy pate was a great choice. Sunday roast was perfect. The pork loin, veg, and roast potatoes were absolutely lovely. Cannot fault the food at all. Will definitely be doing a return visit.

Lisa's is the least pretentious restaurant but serves really staggeringly good food. Whatever ever is ordered it's always perfect and served by cheerful people. Excellent food and extremely good value. Thank you Lisa

This is a beautiful little gem of a garden tea rooms. They have a fabulous selection of cakes and other savoury and sweet baked goodies and are excellent for gluten free and always have a really good selection. Their afternoon tea is amazing!

Lovely hotel, nice helpful staff. Food was great, good selection available on the menu. Good value for money not too expensive. Room had good facilities, tea & coffee , TV, on suite. I had a great nights sleep on the bed. Room made up every day. I would definitely stay there again.

After having a drive around Redcar and Saltburn on Saturday 28/12/24, my wife and I fancied fish and chips for lunch, so rather than pick a seaside chippy, we decided to go to our absolute favourite chip shop on the high street in Great Ayton. Sadly, neither of the two lads were frying and you could tell because the fish was overcooked and dryer than an Egyptian camel rider’s flip-flop. This is so unusual because normally the cod is cooked to perfection, beautiful brilliant white flakes of cod, cooked in a lovely golden batter. On this visit however, it was such a disappointing experience and made worse as the price of fish and chips is not cheap these days. This one bad experience won’t put us off but I think next time we’ll make sure it’s the lads frying as they tend to concentrate on the cooking and not gabbing as was the case I think yesterday.
