Just finished eating my “Italiano” bagel (salami, mozzarella and balsamic). It was seriously fresh and tasty. Reasonably priced too for what is quality food.

Really tasty bagels, and their salad boxes are delicious too. Can highly recommend the smoked salmon one.

Easily the best bagel I've ever had. Soft and fresh bagel and the filling was flavoursome. Wonderful little store with equally tasty cakes/flapjacks etc. It's just a shame I'm only in the area visiting, as I would easily make this a regular occurrence.

Poor quality, the kids meal for £4 you don’t get a bagel, a 25p Freddo as the chocolate and cheap quavers Imitation, the lady asked if my child could have quavers, I said yes and she gave us cheese curls whatever they are. Hot chocolate was cold, not cooler as originally requested and just really basic for the price. I wouldn’t go back.

I only had a strawberry milkshake, but it was refreshing with real strawberries and ice cream, and it did not disappoint. Very nice selection of gourmet jams and other cute foods which would make for nice gifts.

Staying in Boltby for a few days and decided to have a day in Thirsk. Came across this place whilst googling places to go and saw good reviews as well as a photo of the menu. My husband was sold the second he saw the description of The Atlantic bagel, and I’m a sucker for a New Yorker. We had a quick look at the menu as we walked past to check it was still the same, and came back round after a wander around the town. There were 5 different types of bagels on offer, I went for the poppy and OH had his on plain. There is a table outside, but we opted to walk to the park and eat by the river. The bagels were so soft and overflowing with tasty fillings, just what we needed for a light lunch. At just over £8 for 2 bagels and a bottle of orange juice, it was definitely good value. Highly recommend.

I ordered a chicken Italia and having never tried before I was worried at what I would think. It was absolutely delicious and I will definitely be going back for more. The price is amazing for what you pay for. I must say the women in the shop were so friendly and made me feel so comfortable. Thank you!

Me and my dad visit regularly for lunches and the food is really great! Generous portions, speedy preparation and a lovely atmosphere with staff who are very willing to cater to dietary needs (I personally dislike raw tomatoes and they are more than happy to sub them with cucumber!) - all of that at very good value too! I strongly recommend it to anyone interested

I have been a regular customer of Bagel and Bakes since I moved to Thirsk in 2017. I follow the shop on both Facebook and Twitter as I am a big supporter of local independent businesses, especially when they offer gluten free food. I have called after the recent takeover, and the food was just as good. During lockdown, I’ve been at my parents so unable to visit when it reopened for takeaway. However, I did manage to call the other day. Although they advertise they do gluten free options and they answered a direct question (by myself) on Facebook saying they would continue to offer gluten free, my mum was told that they do not offer gluten free as there is no call for it and they cannot always get hold of gluten free options. How could the former owners have gluten free options every time I went but not the present owner? Looks like I’ll have to find a new gluten free heaven.

on VE day we decided to have a takeaway tea from Bagels& Bakes after placing our order it was delivered to our door the food was really good especially the home made cake and scones everything was wrapped individually and well presented the price was very reasonable too will definitely be going again absolutely delicious

First time in since change. Coffee incredibly bitter and wraps half size of previous portions which were always fantastic! Step up or loose customers. Will try once more before moving on, it may have been a bad day.

We decided to stop in the market town of Thirsk for a bite to eat on the way to our holiday home and came across this little gem. After a quick wander we went for our Bagel. The taste combinations are so tasty, the bread is the right consistency, the staff were helpful and friendly a total winner!!

Called in the other day for lunch. Very tasty bagel and a *delicious* smoothie. I will be back for another go.

Popped into Bagels and Bakes while waiting for my Daughter. There are only 4 seats in the cafe - all in the window but it's a fab place to watch the world go by. Ordered a drink and caramel shortbread. Lovely pot of tea and the nicest caramel shortbread I've had. Lots of people coming in ordering the most delicious sounding sandwiches and wraps to take out, making wish I was staying in Thirsk long enough to try one. Would recommend a trip to this small but excellent establishment .

Walked past whilst heading to the gallery down the road and felt compelled to pop in on the way back - which was a very good move. Fantastic bagels enjoyed with from the bar stools in the window. I highly recommend Bagels and Bakes.

Brief stop in Thirsk while wife was working close by. Walked past Café Nero and came to this little gem. Coffee was lovely, lemon drizzle cake tasty and also ordered 2 bagels (Federer - ham, Swiss Cheese, mustard mayo, and Blue Fin - tuna, avocado, salad) to take away; both really delicious. Service was super friendly and had a lovely chat with a couple of ladies who were also trying the place out for the first time. Thoroughly recommended.

We came in here to defrost after a trip to Sutton bank. We had coffee and got chocolate and the most delicious rocky road ever. The staff were helpfulness friendly and the service very quick. Really lovely pitstop

Called in for lunch and had the falafel flatbread which was delicious. Sat in the window seats (there are only 4 as this is mainly a take away). They also had soy milk for a vegan cappacino. Lovely people too.

What an experience! The food , place and the people . Highly recommend :)! Fresh food, catering food dietary requirements too, healthy protein shakes and yummy cakes too:), quality food and not expensive. The deco and fine unique teapots etc , just brilliant. Worth a special trip to Thirsk just to visit Bagels and Bakes... fantastic bagels smoothies, and cakes reasonably priced, and such a lovely well designed interior with such a wonderful smiley chatty service... what’s not to like!I took my big sis in yesterday and she has lots of dietary issues... no problem at all! They put together a delicious gluten free/ dairy free bagel which she loved. I had a passion smoothie this time, absolutely gorgeous! Well done team!

Went in to this delightful sandwich shop on a Wednesday afternoon and totally exceeded my expectations. It was spotlessly clean and the variety of bagels on offer was wonderful. I hope to return very soon

We were in town for the races but didn’t want anything too heavy for lunch. Bagels and bakes came up trumps as they offer tasty sandwiches many of which are very different.I went for a New York one which had pastrami and Philadelphia cheese on. The other was a Greek based one and both were delicious if not massive. Prices are reasonable and they are made fresh to order. Definitely worth a try.

My girlfriend and I visited today, she had been several times before but it was a first for me. Can’t ever say I have ever been to a bagel shop before so it was a great idea for a change. The service was great and very friendly, particularly as they recognised my girlfriend so chatted to us both. The food was delicious and fairly priced too and they seemed to have an attractive menu. So I will definitely be back.

All the times I have visited Bagels & Bakes, I have never been disappointed with the service and the quality of food I received. Lots of choice, all freshly made in front of you and nothing is too much trouble. The menu is varied with bagels, wraps, salads and specials. The cakes are always very tempting and I sometimes have to give in. I can’t recommend Bagels & Bakes enough - give it try!!

The best place in town to pop into for great food and amazing staff!!

Lovely breakfasts and lunches with coffees . Small seating area in the window to look out on the town. Food made to order and breakfasts need to be ordered by 11. Delicious examples are waffles with bacon and maple syrup. Many bagels wraps or salads to choose from particular favourites are the New Yorker and the Federer. Lovely staff always have a smile .

Called in for a latte. This is predominantly a takeaway sandwich shop, but has a few stools facing the window. The cafe is nicely decorated and had fresh lilies on the shelf which was a nice touch. The staff were friendly and efficient. My latte had a very frothy large topping and the coffee itself was rather weak for me, but it was very reasonably priced.

Bagels and Bakes moved from Topcliffe Road, Thirsk. The staff are fantastic and the choice of bagel fillings is incredible. They also have fresh cakes, waffles, make their own smoothies and milkshakes and brew the most fantastic coffee. You simply HAVE to visit if you are in Thirsk - you will definitely not be sorry - and I'm happy to call myself a regular!

1st visit today, only just found out about it and thought Id give it a look. Staff were friendly and helpful, and service was quick. The bagel was made while I waited and the shop itself looked lovely. I got an Atlantic Bagel (Cream cheese, smoked salmon and avocado) on multigrain as a take out and it was delicious. I will be returning for more awesome bagels!!

Just popped in for a coffee and investigate 'Bagels' for a future treat.Served quick and some interesting treats. We shared a piece of lemon drizzle and enjoyed a coffee.Not many seats but I can cope with a 'breakfast bagel' and a wander round the market.

Oh dear .... it took 10 minutes plus to get two bagels ... not because there was a queue but because lady preparing was so slow and had to keep asking for information already given. Didn’t even know how to produce a receipt from the till. Bagels were OK ... can’t say better than that ... nothing special. I won’t be using this place again .... it’s located in the old Johnson’s butchers shop just off the Thirsk square along from the police station .... far better places to eat in Thirsk.

Brought my son to the new shop in town. We both thoroughly enjoyed it, this is just what Thirsk needs in its town centre 🤗

Visited with friends and kids on many occasions. Friendly welcome. Excellent food cooked to order. The shakes and smoothies are great with fab range of healthy options as well. The waffles with maple, strawberries and cream are wonderful. Try the ‘Spanish Bird’ bagel. It’s lush!

Had the King Louis. Fantastic flavour combo, they really know what they are doing. Left with sticky fingers. Would highly recommend.

Popped in for bagels and drinks for lunch with my 8 year old who was starving after football. Menu was varied enough so we could both get what we wanted. We sat in and enjoyed people watching while we ate. Food was fab and exactly as described in the menu. Prompt and friendly service. Would recommend and will certainly be returning.

Called here for breakfast which was lovely, waffles with bacon and maple syrup were excellent, all the cakes looked lovely as well as did the lunchtime sandwich menu, well worth a visit!!

We visited last month after a walk up Sutton bank and the panini style bagels were a real treat after working up an appetite. There is a huge choice of fillings to suit all tastes and while we took ours away the seating area is lovely and inviting. We will definitely visit again and are looking forward to giving the burger evening a go.
