The best restaurants serving British food in Sutton Vesey Birmingham West Midlands

Visited the establishment on Saturday morning with my wife and the service and food was excellent staff were very friendly and helpful

Celebrated my daughters 18th birthday here tonight, the kitchen had had some issues and our meal wasn't going to be as we may of expected but in the end we had a wonderful evening, the food was as ever, delicious and the staff couldn't do enough for us to ensure a good night and that the kitchen issues didn't spoil our evening, thank you all so much, we will be back

Mixed bag of a dining experiance this one. Went on a thursday evening. We were a walk in and they couldn't sit us for 20 mins which was fine. Had a drink the very comfortable bar/lounge area next to a log fire! On going to our table we noticed a server apologising profusely to other diners. The restaurant seemed busy even though there were still few empty tables, we arrived at 8.30 so we felt we were a bit later than peak time. Took 20 minutes before and server could come and take a drinks order (we ordered food at this point anyway!) The starters took 35 minutes to arrive and when they did come, they were luke warm. The poor server did come and ask if all was OK and we explained that while we had eaten because we were so hungry, the food wasn't warm enough. She was apologetic. Mains arrived hot, steaks cooked as ordered and everything was tasty. My 1st time in a Miller and Carter - the wedge of lettuce is a bit weird for a more up market restaurant but hey ho. Desert was also very good, again a little slow coming out. It was 10.40 by the time we finished eating. It was hard to flag a server for the bill. The server was apologetic. They had clearly had a manic day and were short of staff. They took the price of the starters off without needing to be asked in fairness. So our server was lovely, albeit clearly tired and had obviously spend most her shift apologising. Clearly management have failed to get enough staff or allowed over booking to the detriment of the experiance. Wasn't very clear if there was a manager on hand trying to pull the team together and organise or help the team out. Overall a disappointing 1st time at a Miller and Carter.

Love the venue. Atmosphere good. Relaxing. Prices ok for boldmere. New refurb grood staff friendly. update i spend alot money in vesey. But weathrspoons as a company need to review policy about pets outside all venues. I get allergies ect. But wen me and mrs sitting outside on side rd minding our own business with Casper and doorman grassing us up by using app sitting in outside in cold yes out side not indoors. Weathrspoons im not impressed

The food was cold the toast potatoes dried up the vegetables hard dried out smash lumps and cold no gravy waited and no one filled it up

Nice pub, decent pub grub and nice helpful staff, dog friendly which is great Thank you

Me and my partner had haddock and chips the fish was really nice and hot but the chips was horrible hard and lukewarm but the pudding was nice .

Used to be a great place but getting quieter now

Had a steak and chicken dish. As was sitting outside we was told it had to be served on a plate not a skillet. All good. I actually preferred the plate as it doesnt continue to keep cooking and therefore no burnt onions. It was a fantastic meal and if i was to eat here again i would request a plate and no skillet again. 5/5 for the food.

I went in for lunch by myself and noticed the floor was sticky straight away, it was empty, I didn’t like the atmosphere. I ordered a drink just to see if it got any better. The service was abrupt, the staff need to improve on communication skills, it wasn’t polite just straight to the point, if felt like I was hassling them, I didn’t order lunch I left and I won’t be returning. Very poor experience.

Been here a few times, food is lovely & staff are friendly. What more can you ask for 😋👍
