Really good atmosphere, friendly staff

We had our work closing down party here last night. The buffet food was amazing. Everyone loved it especially the sausage rolls The staff are always friendly and the service was amazing. Thankyou so much to Rhianne and the team for making our night stress free and enjoyable . Would definitely book with you again xx

Brilliant pub Had our xmas party there and leaving do great night

I took my kids on a weekday night for some food, they have a great kids corner with lots of toys which kept them very entertained. The refurb looks great also! It took a long time to be acknowledged at the empty bar to order the food to begin with. The food was absolutely appalling, I have never been given such disgusting food after paying for it. I had to send my daughter’s burger back as it was charcoal, the second one came out slightly better but still inedible. The kids tomato pasta was hard, rubbery and plain with a table spoon of watery tomato sauce dolloped on top- my son still ate it as his not picky and often tries to eat dirt. I ordered the chicken tikka masala, the naan that it comes with could have been used as a frisbee and smashed a window. The curry was very watery and the rice was awful. The side of chips we had were lovely! Can’t fault the chips. My partner had the Korean burger, the bun was burnt and the chicken was overcooked! He didn’t eat it. We could not get our head around after the long wait for the food to start with how the chef even thought its acceptable to send out the food the way it was. After looking at the many other reviews it looks as if we aren’t the only ones who had this experience with the food. We were given a refund on both adult meals - although told the curry was up to spec. We were told they wouldn’t refund the kids meals, the pasta was half eaten to be fair but the kids burger was untouched. The waitress and the manager were very polite and helpful and resolved the issue quickly with the refund. Overall nice place to have a drink but have food elsewhere!

Absolutely love it here with the new owners! Hunters chicken jacket potatoe is absolutely delicious 😊 staff are all very friendly and it's a lovely place to eat!

BEWARE! Went for a quick dinner with my family only to be surved what is arguably not food and given unwashed glasses. Thankfully the staff replaced our glasses but appauling that it occured. The tables were not cleaned forcing us to have to clean our own table so that we could even sit down. All the menus around us where covered thoroughly in dirt. My sandwich came out 99% bread (see the photo) and everyone else's food was undesirable at best. I'd really recommend driving down to somewhere somewhat respectable such as the the one up the road. In response to their comment (see photos) While I understand and can sympathise with being busy do you really feel as though it's my job as a customer to ask your members of staff to clean tables? That mess was there for excess of 20 minutes with no signs of it being cleaned up, hence my comment. As for the sandwich the complaint isnt around the fill, rather the sheer unquantifiable amount of bread you lobbed onto my plate. I couldn't manage more than a singular bite as there was so much bread that the fill was inaccessible. While I understand that the gammon and chips was up to standard, I would like to point out that it was one of three meals shown and a 1/3 customer satisfaction rate isn't really something to gloat over. The curry was appauling and inedible, it looked off and disgusting: personally i would have never handed it out. As for my comment about up the road I would say either directions, I'd rather go anywhere else.

Booked a 1.30pm table for Sunday lunch. When we arrived there was hardly anyone there so booking wasn't necessary. Went to bar to order food and drinks and asked to open a tab for table 31. They weren'tallowed to open a tab even if you are eating there. When I asked for food I was told by barmaid that the Sunday food menu was off. I asked for Rose wine, they didn't have any. I asked for a pint of bitter shandy, the bitter was off. Needlessly say we beat a hasty retreat. Your reply Rhianne is beyond belief. Wrong on all counts. I did not order a "cask" bitter. Just a plain good old pint. I was not offered any other bitter. I was told there were no bitters available. I was also told you had no Rose wine and no mention of needing a card to set up a tab was discussed. "We are not allowed to set up tabs. You have to pay now at the bar" is what we were told.

Nice pub. Won't be going again. Due fined for parking when their was no parking signs. In the car park . 2 weeks ago

I didn't expect to get a £100 fine for visiting the recently refurbed pub on a visit a few Friday's ago. Visited in good faith. Didn't see the sign at the rear of the pub. It was dark and there were lots of people milling around. Apart from the fine, the refurb looks great. My family would like to try the food, but we won't be going back unless the fine is rescinded. Not a great story to pass on to other potential visitors, is all I can say.

Hosted my son's surprise birthday party here a couple weekends back. Rhianne,Dwayne and the rest of the staff team behind the bar and in the kitchen were simply amazing. My son and his guests had an amazing time. I honestly can not thank you all enough. Literally salvaged my initial "garden party plans" last minute.

Came over Wednesday lunch time for some food with my family. Food was lovely and staff amazing especially Charlotte and Kelly. Would highly recommend.

It is a shame that the Beggars Bush is going downhill. My mother lived just down the Jockey Road, I have been here for a month settling her estate, my uncle and I have been in 2 or 3 times and they NEVER have ale on. Everytime I ask I am told its being taken care of (settling)or that it is very popular and they have run out. Here's an idea, order more. Today once again, no ales on. The tables in the back were dirty, i watched them pick up dishes and glasses but they did not wipe anything down so there was bits of food on the tables and rings from the glasses which made the tables sticky. I know they recently renovated but it looks the same to me just fresh paint and new carpeting.

I was outside with my mom and friends we had excellent food and pudding it was exquisite I would come to this fabulous place again

Since the refurb food is lovely service is great and staff r welcoming and friendly in there most Saturdays always clean and tidy love the shows they have on the Saturdays

I came here with my 4 children to have a meal and I must say the staff were friendly and polite and the food was just amazing, definitely be coming here again 🙂

I rated this pub a 5/5 I was there on Saturday around 4pm we had 3 gammons and it came on time and it was amazing it was hot the chips were crispy and the peas were beautiful it was very peaceful and quiet and the interior was very nice the outside was brilliant I sat outside and we enjoyed the food no complaints and we had 2 honey comb brownie and one Eton mess the brownie was gooey delicious and my friend enjoyed the Eton mess I asked them to personally thank the chef called Danielle and thanked everyone for such an amazing service I would certainly come again

Sadly this evening i was sitting near the bar in one of the high tables having what i thought was going to be a quiet drink! This quickly escalated into me witnessing some very rude staff who did not deal with a very simple situation very well at all, someone’s food was clearly incorrect and not upto standard as i could clearly see, the customer was told that they were not going to replace the food that was substandard and that they will not be receiving a refund. This was not good customer service, it was very hard to watch and very unnecessary… New management and staff required.

I had two friends go for a meal and they experienced a terrible evening here, which is especially bad given that it was one of their birthdays on that day. They ordered a vegetarian taco which was described as having avocado, grilled peppers, red onion, herbs, fresh chillies and lettuce, but what actually came was a taco with brown soggy rocket and peppers. After they asked the waitress to exchange their taco for another one thinking it was an accident they were told they couldn’t. After then asking if they could have their refund they were told they couldn’t have that either, and were even accused of being “harsh” on their wait staff after all they did was ask for better food that was actually advertised on the menu, or a refund on the meal. This waitress I must add had a terrible attitude being sarcastic, outspoken and sassy all the while flicking her hair around ridiculously. From here they found out the kitchen manager refused to cook them another. The actual manager came over and tried to intimidate them being boisterous, essentially telling them they can’t have no refund or no replacement for their food therefore they were left with anaemic chicken wings which were really nicely seasoned albeit skinny, and the halloumi fries which were “mid”. Which for £12 is a shambles. It’s a shame really as they were excited for the pub quiz and the food, but were left hungry and shaken from this experience. I would like to see an apology from the manager for such an upsetting experience and I wish people have a better experience in the future going here. And I’d like to add that petulant staff is not acceptable in any pub and it’s a shame the manager has hired such disrespectful and unhelpful staff.

The pub has had a wonderful refit. The food was lovely and the service impeccable. We were warmly welcomed and treated like highly valued guests all through our visit. Charlotte, our server was fantastic.

Good atmosphere , only one thing need to be improve is the parking. Overall, this is a good pub to go in Sutton Coldfield

Came here on a Sunday and got brilliant service from our bartender Kerrie. Lovely food and a great atmosphere.

Had a meal there today cost over £50 it was vile lasagne was sent back because it was black to replaced with microwaved slop swimming in grease only thing that wernt microwaved were the chips an they were raw in middle side salad was last weeks lettuce Cheaper and better meals at Witherspoon that’s how bad the food was

Have a lovely meal today for my daughters birthday 🎂 There were 10 of us, adults and children., Lovely server's and bar staff, they were all really friendly. Food was really hot and there was loads of it, couldn't finish all my meal (Sunday roast) I was stuffed. 🙂🙂

Wonderful experience at the Beggars Bush this evening, fab service by Reanne and the team. We came for dinner for our dad’s 91st birthday and they could not have been more accommodating. Lovely food and atmosphere. Thank you xx

I love this pub. The staff are so friendly, welcoming and nothing is ever to much trouble. The atmosphere is just something else. I would highly recommend it to anyone. They have some cracking entertainment on for all the family. The food is 10 out of 10 it's all home cooked none of this any microwave food. They do best lasagne I've ever tasted. Keep up the good work guys your all amazing

I came with my elderly parents and family today for the first time . The decor was welcoming and everyone was friendly. Service and attention to detail was excellent. We shall be a regular customers from now as my parents live on the doorstep.

Went with 6 members of my family for a 7pm booking. They had no steaks so we ordered other things. Food came out without the onion rings and there wasnt any vegan cheese (also we paid for this). When we finished our food approx 8pm we tried to order deserts but was advised chef had gone home and werent taking orders. Was a lack of information from the cashier so would think twice about going back for food again. Establishment was clean having just had a refurb. Was very surprised lack of steaks onion rings and cheese as theres a tesco superstore directly opposite!

Newly refurbished, Menu had some interesting meals as well as the pub favourites. Service was good.

Came an orderd food which was sent back twice mash was grey when issued rsised was told all mash like this offered chips took plate again come back veg cold wjen we raised the issue the male manager hat on backwards was making excuses for the food we then stated we were going to leave a reviiew at this point he said well i am not helping you now i was going to resolve this but im not helping you at all now an walked away shocking customer service from him waited over an hour for pudding at this point cancelled it not the same managers or service anymore this will be the last time in here the male manager needs to learn manners

Had a wonderful meal & dessert, wonderful helpful staff,only downside in my opinion, the disabled toilet was without any sort of hand dryer also the toilet handle is broken so doesn't flush properly, real shame because let's pub diwn

I very much enjoyed my time at the establishment. The food, atmosphere and overall service was astounding and really made the highlight of my stay in Birmingham. My server Zach was a particular asset and made the atmosphere that much more enjoyable. He was kind, attentive and always seemed to be willing to fulfil our every request.

Had an amazing time. Went in today, great atmosphere with the new refurbishment the pub already being quite electric when I entered. The bar team were amazing and very friendly, and all other staff that were working had made an effort the whole time I was there. Food was amazing, and I would order from there again. Overall amazing time and pub and hearing about all the events and shows happening I definitely will be returning!

Well what can I say the food was amazing the staff and the manager were really friendly and very helpful I can’t wait to attend one of the weekend events all I can say is I will be back!

A very nice pub , disabled access & good food at decent prices .

I ordered a steak medium done when it eventually came after quite a wait my plate looked empty, the steak was well done with a handful of chips, half of a small tomato and 2 skinny onion rings when I checked the menu I should have had rocket so I asked for my rocket and some English mustard when the 4 pieces of rocket came I was told they didn't do mustard or brown sauce, every pub or restaurant I've ever been too has had mustard. Every steak I've ever had has come with peas, my mistake for not checking menu properly, I used the pub on a number of occasions before the refit, I'm sorry to say I won't be using it again Ps my partner had a senior meal and it looked larger than mine ☹

Came into the pub after it has been refurbished and it is amazing, looks better food is perfect and there are so many great value deals. Will be coming back again!!

Came here a few days ago and what an amazing atmosphere the beggars bush now has. New management and team are amazing and very welcoming, nothing was too much trouble for them. Will definitely be returning.

Ordered onion rings got charged, didn't get . Side of chips 9 of . Staff not all trained up . But that will come right in time . Staff pleasant polite courteous. For this type of venue, a small portion . Not value for money.

As a local thought we would try the refurbished pub for a weekday meal .. Starters arrived . Ok. Main course of steak arrived. It was clear to me that the steak was not a rump steak medium rare as ordered but a quick fry steak . When questioned, the manager/ chef came out with the meal that I had retuned to tell me it was what you ordered . ( clearly it wasn’t ) I was refused a refund so we left and I will not be returning. Customer service is none existent.

Went for a quiet pint and no such thing in this crèche, kids playing pool and screaming there heads off. Place is like kinder garden for the 6 weeks holliday. Shame as new to area and looks a decent pub. Wanted some food but ended up going to Wetherspoons in disgust

I’ve grew up in this industry, worked in many pubs, visited many more and I have never seen a pub with so many staff but people not being served! 4 staff members stood talking at the end of the bar, 1 refilling the fridge with bottles of wine when it already had many, while customers are stood looking at each other trying to remember whose been waiting longest to be served as the 2 staff serving, 1 clearly brand new tried their best, the new staff member was probably the most attentive. Once we were finally served and this was only because another customer told the staff member we had been waiting longer than them, we were told they were no longer taking food orders at 8.10pm. But menus and condiments were still on the tables and there was nothing on the menus giving certain times for food. We had been there for a couple of hours so would have ordered earlier had we known. (I’ve since seen they state here the kitchen is open until 9pm, but that wasn’t the case). Very poor visit to the newly refurbed Beggars Bush. It looks better than before, shame we witnessed a guy peeing up the wall outside in the seating area and then falling into it, and people using drugs outside too while security stood by and watched.

Came here today to eat with a friend for a catch up. Whilst here bumped into my daughter and grandchildren also eating. After 3 attempts to get tacos they finally got them the way they was ordered. Meals took forever to arrive. I proceeded to order my lunch of cod and chips and my friend ordered the gammon and chips. How disappointed was I to receive the meal below. Looked great in the plate till you turned the batter over which was all split down the middle and the small amount of fish the fell out was disgusting for the price I paid. Will not be ordering the fish again as it was greasy and very bland. Photos before I started eating them to show context of fish to batter proportion before I attempted to eat it.

Has just been refurbished its nice and bright new tables and chairs etc lovely places to eat a meal very comfortable very friendly staff lots of seating outside good spaced car park could do with a few more lagers as there is not a great deal of choice but what there is is good quality will definitely recommend this place and a big shout out to lily in the bar staff thank you for being so nice 😀

Turned up at the buggers bush pub not knowing it had just reopened as we turned up. I ordered my food and it was delicious. The lady behind the till saod the food is on the house as a promotion. No complaints from me. Staff were very friendly

Visited on the re opening and it's better than ever. Menu has improved and the layout is much better

Be very very careful . Car park charge but signage is almost undetectable in the dark . They have very misleading signs that are almost invisible .

AVOID AVOID . This is not a review of the pub but their parking . I accident ally parked in their car park with a medical emergency as my 98 Father who has sever dementia and was feeling ill. . I thought I was in Homebase car park . The sign is directly under Homebase’s sign . I believe placed there to mislead . I never received any penalty notice and now am to appear in court with a penalty fee of over £270 to be paid . They passed it onto a debt collecting company . I can show there was no notice at the entrance and insufficient lighting to see any pay signs . I had a disabled pass as well , but I have been pursued for nearly two years for this debt . I do hope no one else has been mislead by their signage under a six foot Homebase sign and no notice of private parking at the entrance .

Has a friendly laid back atmosphere and the staff are lovely. Will be undergoing a big refurbishment in May 2024 so will be well worth checking out once that is complete. They will be updating the beer garden area, adding a polycarb roof to shelter people from the elements and a new timber pergola. Two full height windows will be installed to enhance the view into the bar area. The steps at the rear will be improved to create a more attractive additional entrance into pub with some new lighting.

Limited menu Meal arrived quick no cutlery or condiments no serviettes pretty poor for a Friday evening is it half way thru makeover not sure won't cum agen poor menu choices

Nice food,sizzler pub so refund if steak etc not sizzling hot on the plate.Quick service at the bar,good range of beers ciders spirits etc.The only thing when me and my wife visited one evening unbeknown to us it was a casino evening so a big group of men came in and rearranged all the tables and chairs very close to where we was sitting and they was staring at us as if they wanted us to move also,I think that is unacceptable especially as my wife is disabled.Also we lost a pound in the toy dispenser machine the manager was supposed to come over but just ignored us so we just thought forget it.Also tv on full blast cant have a conversation,not everybody wants sport shoved don theyre throat and earholes.I like certain sports but i dint need it so loud its deafening.

Great pub for day time pint massive beer selection, staff absolutely lovely. Big TVs sport horse racing, reasonably priced beer. Look forward to next visit. 🍻

came to the quiz on a Wednesday evening, had a fabulous time ( but didn't win) the host of the quiz was brilliant with a good varied selection of rounds, there was also a spin the wheel game which was fun. Overall it was a great evening with a fantastic atmosphere.

The Drinks atmosphere everything is electric all staff are brilliant and are up for a laugh 100% recommend

Been in the pub a few times and it can only be summed up as a missed opportunity. The bar service is terrible and they generally only have 1 of their own Greene King beers available. For reasons best known only to themselves the music is generally extremely loud and prohibits any kind of relaxing drink or conversation. Very much a locals only kind of pub and very much best avoided if you're not one of the regulars

Me and my family have been here a couple times this month and both times was served by Charlotte. She was very friendly and had a laugh with us. Food was delicious and we all enjoyed our meals and had a great time here and will be coming back again

Nice pub nice atmosphere been three times this month. However this I’ll be my last due to nobody informing us that you need to register your car. Now we have three £100 parking tickets.

Lovely place , Charlotte was super helpful and friendly , Tasty food an spicy piri piri sauce, bring back the mango chicken.

Stopped off last night with Friends in Sutton Coalfield. Were from Plymouth on a visit, had a great time in the Beggars Bush, the staff were really professional band friendly.. lovely evening.
