Kian the bar back/ runner is brilliant. He’s fast and efficient. The bar staff need more training on awareness and small attention to detail as we were waiting and were skipped twice. Being in hospitality for 11 years I’m not suprised, the customer next to us had to notify the bartender we were next. HEADOFFICE GIVE THAT BOY A RAISE and look after him!

Visit the pub regularly when I'm staying In sutton Coldfield. Pub is lovely and spacious and plenty of tables. Staff are all friendly had one lady in particular (lexi) always smiling and always happy to help and actually makes an effort which you don't get in some places so was nice to see. Definitely a great member of the team they have there. Look forward to my monthly visits

I was trying to enjoy my night here to celebrate my Irish heritage on saint Patrick’s day, and Lexie was incredibly rude while I was quietly singing, she told me to shut up and I was taken aback, she completely ruined my night and I will NOT be returning 😠😠😠

Had a disappointing experience at Wetherspoons. The bartender, Lexi, was extremely rude to customers. If you’re having a bad day, that shouldn’t be an excuse to take it out on paying customers. Awful attitude and unacceptable service. Staff should be professional and polite—basic customer service! Won’t be coming back anytime soon.

Had a lovely sausage sarnie on white bread with butter delicious . Quite busy for a weekday morning. Enough to be pleasant not rammed like it can be at weekend evenings -

It’s a spoons so yes it has some bargain food and really good cheap beer. But it is a spoons and occasionally attracts spoons customers.

Lovely pub, great service, nice and clean. Had an issue with our hash browns but was quickly rectified

Great bar with great staff..my only issue is the camera in the gents toilet there is no warning signs about it which should be on display it's right above you it can see my sausage..I understand if theres a lot of drugs or fighting but every time I've been it's a good atmosphere and don't see any of that happening

Terrible service , the bald security guard is rude and aggressive. I went a few weeks ago for a friends birthday and one of the people I was with decided to get alcohol from aldi and proceeded to pour that alcohol into the pitcher he had , I did not partake in this and was on a completely different table to them at the time but the security guard came over and checked my friends bag seeing there was the alcohol bottles and he proceeded to shout at us all to get out , he even came over to the table I was sat at and screamed/shouted in my face to get out , I tried calmly explaining to him that I was trying to get some water to sober up as I was feeling ill and he screamed at me to leave and wasn't very understanding. Also yesterday I went back after watching a show at my college my friends were in , for drinks and celebrating the show and I had just ordered my drink and food that i paid £13.35 for , however the bald security guard came over to serve our drinks and immediately shouted at us to get out (we didn't realise we were banned from the incident before as he hadn't explained that to us) so he made me go to the bar and cancel the food and drink I ordered - and said id get a refund - before rudely telling us all to leave. He was very passive aggressive towards my friend and hes just in general not a nice person. Has anyone else ever encountered rudeness or aggression from him? He also once screamed in my friend (who has autism) face after we were trying to explain to him that we were just taking our friend to go wait for her lift/pickup and coming back.

It’s a typical Wetherspoons and does exactly what it says on the tin. The service at the bar is good and you can order at the table using the app

This place used to be great but after an experience with one of their staffs Lexy, I won’t be coming here again. She is extremely rude, impatient and has a bad attitude. After we made our order, she rolled her eyes at us & got the orders completely wrong. After I asked her to repeat the order again, she snapped and gave us so much attitude. I got food poisoning the day after from being here so I won’t be coming here ever again.

Area we sat smelt of a dirty ashtray so we moved. Breakfast came out barely warm and hot drinks are not hot however what was alarming was the morning barmaid walking in the gentleman's toilets without knocking before hand to “open a window” while giving my fiancé a cheeky wink! Now imagine that being a man walking into the ladies toilets without knocking staring while their mid peeing! No acceptable or professional at all!

Clean well run pub. Good atmosphere.

Met up with friends here for some drinks in the evening. It's a spoons, so it's pretty much cheap and cheerful. Staff were pleasant. Evening went ok, until it got later around 10pm, and all the 'youth' came in all drunk. Toilets were a right state with urine and vomit all over the floor and all over the toilets, and blocked and overflowing.

Always decent food here, you get what you pay for, good service, good atmosphere.

I had Alexander serving me he’s a great manager very efficient service and very friendly. However he’s a bit too nice.

Great service by Alex, went above and beyond to provide the best service. Sometimes he made jokes that were not funny but I applaud the effort.

Really nice location, tons of seating both upstairs and downstairs. The staff are really friendly and the drinks are reasonably priced.

Amazing!!! I go every Sunday with my family I live here I always get the nachos I would rate more but I wish they had tacos or burritos or more pastas because they only have lasagna and spaghetti in the kids menu but other than that amazing

What can you say about Witherspoon's good beers and good prices

This was a lovely pub for drinking, spanning a massive area that maintains a vintage feel! The canopy gives glorious views outside especially in the sun, accompanied by a very nice green area. Seating is plentiful of course, counter is well presented at a good size and staff were friendly. I had a refreshing pint of Stella Artois, appreciating the comfy seating and cleanliness!

Vame in to have a few drinks. Sat upstairs. App did not work so had to order at the bar. Staff rude

Very busy pub in the heart of Royal Sutton Coldfield. Staff were good and the beer is cheap.

A very nice pub with a great atmosphere , sells really good food , a nice pint fair priced aswell . Easy access for the disabled . Worth a visit .

Refused entry as the lettering on my ID was apparently “not raised enough”, perhaps if the bouncers removed their gloves they’d be able to feel that the lettering is in fact raised. Bouncers then proceeded to swear at my girlfriend and make us feel incredibly uncomfortable, meanwhile they allow young girls to enter with a passing glance. Would not recommend to anyone looking for a warm or welcoming atmosphere!

The only time I've been turned away from a pub because the dishwasher was broken,🤣 Bouncers looked like terrified school kids.

A lot of very young kids wandering around quite pissed at 9:30pm ,....... That's a tad off putting

Absolutely disgusted 3 times I've ordered steak medium well 3 times its come out blue or raw they need to learn to cook never eating here again its not just the steak the can't get right either nit the only person to complain

The decor was outstanding. Served by a young lady called Willow, great attitude and service with a smile and a chat. We ate upstairs on the balcony that looked over the bar downstairs. The wall art is cheeky and clever at the same time. The BBQ chicken melt was filling, and the portion of salad large with a tasty dressing dip. After food, we had drinks outside, which was different from any other Wetherspoons I have been in. Toilets were clean with soap in all and fresh smelling. A small carpark to the rear, possibly 5 spaces. Loved the Bottle of Sack, we will return.

Ordered some shots someone was too drunk around me and I got my shots taken off me after I had paid and been promised a refund. Haven't got anything...

Closed the bar 10 mins early. Called last orders at 23:45, went up for a a half and was told “we’ve closed the bar, we called last orders at 23:30 and closed the bar at 23:45” I know this is rubbish as I looked at my phone when they rang the bell. Also why advertise that your open til 00:00 if your not? I was meeting a mate tonight but my local spoons stays open til 00:00 no matter how little customers are in as they advertise that they are open till 00:00. Let yourselves down here

Last 3 breakfasts not as good as normal

Stopped the night in Sutton Coldfield after a gig at The NEC and decided to nip across to The Bottle Of Sack for a traditional breakfast. As you do. It's what Wetherspoons was put on the planet for. The Bottle is named safter a quote from some bloke called Billy Shakespeare. He was very famous for an almost endless stream of plays that countless 14-16 year old children would sigh at the mere mention of when studying for English exams. I think it's what Shaky would have wanted. Anyhoo, the traditional breakfasts were eerily similar to the actual pub. Not that great, but did the job. Like any other 'Spoons, the staff were OK, the pub was adequate, though improvements in cleanliness were required, particularly in the toilets, which were a heady mix almost empty toilet roll holders and soaking wet floors. Average, but passable.

Great place for a drink and meet up not over priced, food basic but good enough 😉

Our go to pub for a cheap lunchtime meal.

The Bottle of Sack in Sutton Coldfield offers a superb dining experience. The ambiance is a bit intense at times due to some inebriated individuals that like to go over the limit, but they accompany with great quality meals. Their menu features a delightful array of dishes, all prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients. I particularly enjoyed their perfectly cooked steak and the rich, flavorful sauces that accompanied it. The drink selection is impressive, with a great variety of wines and craft beers.

Good place for a cheap drink in Sutton. Occasionally gets overrun by youths but overall a decent vibe and I keep going back so must be doing something right 👍

The usual Wetherspoons bonus of cheap drinks and a great range of beers. Nicely furnished pub with a good outdoor area.

3 for £14.93 nachos, bbq chicken pizza and chicken strips. You get good value definitely. Only problem is the pizza is more of a pitta bread than pizza dough. Avoid the mens toilets at all costs they stink of stale piss. I had to hold my breath when using them it was that disgusting.

Tried the app & ordered from our table rather than face the huge queue often experienced at a Spoons establishment. Really easy to navigate app & fastest service I've ever recieved. Well done spoons. Ordered chicken bites & a pizza, both with a pint, good Guiness pour. Food was good, can't go wrong with their pizza. The young lady on the floor was really polite helpful and extremely hard working, didn't catch her name but she reseated us from outside to in. She literally didn't stop fair play to her, seems like a real asset. I'll update if I find out her name.

Good basic Wetherspoons reasonably priced

If I could give no stars I would. I've now recieved food poisoning twice from eating here...most recently yesterday as it being the only thing I had eaten before getting poorly. Now I won't be able to go on holiday because I'm ill.

Shopping in Sutton, went in for a drink ended up having lunch (and another drink). Cheapest for drinks and food.

3 of us went for lunch. Instead of lemonade, my daughter was given soda water which was replaced later. The ale i had chosen had run out. My daughters desert had a caramel sauce added as the chocolate sauce had run out, she wasn't asked if that was an acceptable replacement. Unfortunately she does not like the caramel sauce so a replacement was given without any sauce. The major complaint would be about a very loud group of middle aged women, where every other word was the 'F-Bomb', On a outdoor terrace on a Saturday afternoon, where there were many families with young children, this is not acceptable & i felt that a member of staff should have asked them to tone down their bad language.

Food was very quick and tasted very fresh. Service at bar and food delivery both excellent

Went for an early tea ordered the classic jalfrezi curry which should come with rice naan and poppadoms food arrived only curry and chips sent it back came back with no rice a naan and 2 poppadoms which were drenched in oil and still with chips cant blame the waitress but as for the staff behind the bar who were obviously not interested in customer service and the so called chef it amounted to the worst pub meal experience I have ever had and this doesn't include my wifes meal which wasn't quite as bad but still not good we wont be going back.

Yes, it's cheap. we all know that. But there are not many places you can get refillable coffee for under £2.00. You must try the smashed avocado on a muffin it's absolutely delicious 😋.

I went to a friend's 60th birthday drink and it was a perfect place to hold it,lovely atmosphere and lovely staff too.

Love this place, great value with food and drink

Food came quickly but I had to send my steak and kidney pudding back as it had obviously been over microwaved. However the replacement was excellent. The pub itself needs a refurb. Tables and chairs are old and it shows.

Ok. Instead of making an insta dedicated to spoons I'm leaving reviews. Probably one of the first spoons I went to before I had this whole spoons dedication. Great for a local spoons. Has a great outside to sit during the summer. good inside for winter. could be hotter but it's all glass extension makes sense to why it isn't. It could play some music of an evening but is alright for what it is. I rate this average of a spoons scale.

Very slow service. Food not very warm. I've been to various JD Werherspoon's for food in many different areas and this one in Sutton Coldfield is by far the worst one. I definitely will not be returning.

Both breakfast came out near cold .They was replaced with new meals and red hot plates

The food is usually tasty here but always has problems with the temperature of the food. I always have fish and chips but the curry sauce or the chips are so cold. It's a shame as the food is tasty. Alot of the time the staff are run off their feet and doesn't always seem enough running staff so maybe thats why food is cold.

Door staff more interested in smoking there vapes outside the entrance than seeing how drunk gangs of lads were inside the bar! Drunk patrons, falling into other members of the public, obnoxious behaviour and language being used and no one about to say or do anything about it!

Had a pint in there at lunch time very popular place especially with the senior set, no wonder as they had coffee, hot chocolate etc at £1.50 bottomless what a deal wow. Definitely go there again when in the area. Well worth a visit.
