Celebrated my daughters 18th birthday here tonight, the kitchen had had some issues and our meal wasn't going to be as we may of expected but in the end we had a wonderful evening, the food was as ever, delicious and the staff couldn't do enough for us to ensure a good night and that the kitchen issues didn't spoil our evening, thank you all so much, we will be back

Joanne our waitress was excellent, she was kind, friendly and helpful. We are staying at the Travel Lodge and she helped me with my son who’s blind to take us round to the entrance. I appreciated her kindness towards my son. We were welcomed back warmly when we went for dinner. Food was good, atmosphere a bit noisy, but it didn’t matter, we enjoyed it and will go for breakfast in the morning!

Lovely meal, great service from Justine, me and my daughter had a lovely time and will be back soon.

*Disappointing Experience at Toby Carvery Streetly Sutton Coldfield* I'm writing to express my disappointment with the service I received at Toby Carvery. Despite being flexible with seating arrangements, the real issue arose when I asked a waitress (neck bob blonde hair) for cutlery. She responded aggressively, questioning whether I'd paid for my food in a manner that made me feel disrespected and assumed I was dishonest. When I asked for her name, she refused. After paying at the bar, I reported the incident to the manager, but he claimed not to have witnessed the exchange. Given the conflicting accounts, I felt my concerns weren't adequately addressed. While I understand mistakes can happen, the staff's attitude and lack of accountability left a sour taste. Perhaps additional training on customer service and conflict resolution could enhance the overall experience. *Rating:* 2/5

Food overcooked, meat small portions of meat but Yorkshire pudding lovely.

Got the ultimate breakfast Yorkie wrap and a side of hash browns for delivery. One it took longer than usual to get my order, I could see through the app that the delivery driver was there on time but just waiting. When I received my order the hash browns were missing, and the wrap was ridiculously messy and barely warm. I have ordered this exact order last year and loved it then, it was way more presentable and perfect. Not sure what happened this time but it was incredibly disappointing.

The food was great, we had the Carvery. The 40 minute waiting in the queue for it was appalling. They really do let themselves down at times, so badly organised.

Served by the lovely pleasant young lady Molly, made our visit a good experience, all the kids enjoyed their food too as well as the adults, will be back soon.

Held our wedding reception yesterday and wow, they couldn't do enough for us. Didn't require deposit, set our tables up and everyone had an amazing evening. Disappointed with my visit to Toby Carvery Streetly on 12/04/2025. My family and I have been regulars for years, but this experience was really poor. I asked the female chef at the carvery counter a simple question about the £1.99 king size upgrade, and despite being next in line, she raised her voice and told me to “wait my turn.” There was a language barrier, which may have contributed, but it didn’t justify her reaction. When I asked not to be spoken to like that, she became defensive and said she was doing her job. She then came round to the front and continued confronting me in front of other customers, involving staff and people who had already been served. It felt completely unnecessary and unprofessional. Sadly, it’s put me off returning. I’ve submitted a formal complaint to head office and hope to hear a response soon.

As always the food was good and tasted fresh. Our sever Molly was delightful and attentive and the lady carving was lovely.

I ordered 2 suprise bags of "too good to go" for £3.50 each, the food was hot and delicious, staff was friendly would definitely recommend!!

We booked a table on ground floor near to the food service counter as my wife has mobility issues due to MS. Our request was met and our table was ideally situated. We were greeted and served by Jodie who was very pleasant and efficient. We promptly helped ourselves to the carvery which was cooked well and a good choice of meat and veg. Our drinks and deserts were served promptly and again there was a good choice and they were very enjoyable.

Jodie was friendly and couldn’t have done anymore. Good fresh carvery!

Went for mothers day lunch. Very nice carvery choice of 5 meats good quality veggies lovely staff quick service. Only criticism was the self serve refills were quite a walk away from where we were sat.

Usually very nice, food and carvery server was good. Other floor staff not very polite or friendly. Waited a long time for drinks which we had to ask for after 15 minutes of waiting. Other patrons were seated and drinks provided straight away. Quite disappointed. Usually very nice and welcoming.

Been to several of these. This one in particular is one of the best. A constant flow of fresh food (unlike some, with dried out offerings) definitely worth a visit

Food was OK veg was dry and hard and the customer experience was non existent no one severed our table after we were seated not explained that they didn't use tickets ended up having to find a group of staff together to pay our bill after waiting patiently

Not familiar with Toby Carvery but I had a lovely first time visit! The carvery portions are hefty, if your hungry this is the place and the meat is good quality with unlimited trimmings. My server was Sam and she was a treat to have been served by, Great time all round and I will be back soon!

Oh dear! My partner and myself went for breakfast this morning (Sunday 16th). Booked for 10.40. When we arrived hungry were told there was no bacon... We struggled to find a table that had been cleared?! When we went to get our food folk were waiting for sausages. A lady said the ones that were there were barely warm. When a fe did arrive they were swimming in oil. The food looked very limited. No black pudding, the beans and tomatoes we in far too much sauce/juice hash browns soggy. One of the staff was stood there making paper serviettes look pretty whilst customers waited for food?! My partner who never complains said the coffee was stewed. No pepper on our table or lemon available for my drink. Our experience at best - WOEFUL! This was such a shock as I had breakfast there with a friend for the first time a few weeks before. It was fabulous (and I told the manager this and I raved about it to my partner and friend). I couldn't wait to return... However today, I was embarrassed..(egg on my face)! Carveries have also been very good indeed. Come on Toby. I will give you the benefit of the doubt this time. You clearly had a bad morning but someone could have gone to Tesco/wherever nearby to purchase bacon. Bottom line; You need to do soooo much better. There's nothing wrong with your customers hard earned cash. If this becomes a regular occurrence it won't be good for your reputation.

Had breakfast here this morning. I couldn't believe the audacity from the woman in purple with a white cardi on behind the bar this morning. Her attitude stinks. How she works in hospitality is beyond me. Zero people skills.

Food was good! Was expecting slightly more food as it was a help yourself, all you can eat breakfast. It's not table service at that time in the morning either which was confusing. But it was lovely. Both me and my family loved it there

Early sunday evening. Managed to grab a non waited table. Staff were helpful although it would have been betterl if they informed us of a choice of a waited or non waited table else we may have waited another 40 mins for a table to free up. Fine, drinks selection standard commercial brands. You go up to queue for food, had to wait probably 10 minutes to get served. Meat - turkey, pork, beef. All fine, nothing spectacular. Very small portions served on a standard plate. Roast potatoes- Those golden roasties with slightly browned edges? No, think more burnt outer and mush on the inside. Biggest disappointment of the meal. Yorkshire puddings - good size, good flavour and texture, though disappointing you only get 1 as standard. Stuffing - it was weird, slighty mushy, bland. Peas/carrots/greens - boiled veg, looked far gone, didn't try any. Surprised no roasted carrots, but looked lifeless and unappetising. Gravy - plenty of it, ok flavour, again nothing spectacular. Sauces - nice selection of apple, cranberry, mint etc... although running low at the time Overall, The staff were good, maybe overstretched, but the food, even for the price...very poor. Maybe the kitchen was having an off night, overstretched too so standards were slipping? But I dont want to return to find out and I won't risk going to any other Toby either.

Only rated 2 stars for atmosphere as there was only a few people there when we got there, but got better as the afternoon went on. But the food was lovely with a good choice of meat and veg. We will be going again in the near future, when it's not the school holidays

Had an absolutely cracking experience at Toby Carvery, all thanks to the delightful Molly! From the moment we walked in, her infectious smile and upbeat attitude made us feel like VIPs. She served up our roast dinners with the precision of a surgeon and the charm of a stand-up comedian—seriously, if Toby Carvery had a reality show, Molly would be the star. The food? Perfection. But Molly’s service? Next level. She had a way of making you feel like you were the only table in the restaurant, even though it was packed. And let's not forget, her ability to make sure the gravy boat was never empty was a true skill. In short, if you're ever at Toby Carvery, ask for Molly. Not only will you get an epic meal, but you'll leave with a smile on your face and a story to tell!

Birthday meal with family. Food was very dry, inedible, lamb, beef were just scraps, turkey dried out, burnt roast potatoes and mash was stuck to spoon it was so dry A thoroughly disappointing afternoon

Great , efficient service at a busy time , but Waitress Molly Fz was quick to ensure a well needed drink was on table once I'd collected food. The food is as always quality . Plenty of meats > pork , gammon , beef and Turkey to choose from together with a wide range of fresh green and root vegetables ... a great food experience after a long day at work .

Great service very friendly. The food was fantastic, it would be nice to have brocolli as an option and the gravey could have been hotter but the chef gave lots of meat to all of us which was great. Recommended for sure.
