Best chippy in Birmingham! The food was top drawer, super friendly staff & was prepared in no time. Kyri even cooked me fries at my request which were nice & crispy. Will definitely be returning.

Ordered a large fish and chips (along with some other bits) but only a small turned up, rung the shop, they immediately sent out another small fish and chips to make up for it (within 20 mins of first delivery), top service. The food itself is probably the best I've ever tasted, will definately come back

A clean inviting place with helpful staff. Nicely cooked large cod with fab golden extra crsipy batter. Ooodles of chips in a cone sized portion. I'll be back ;-)

My wife and myself have used the takeaway on a few occasions, and it is without a doubt the best chippy in the area. We always order online, and the food is always ready and hot when we get it home. The tandoori chicken wraps are absolutely delicious, the chips are some of the best we've had from anywhere. Highly recommended

We have just purchased the worst Fish n chips of my long life, The chips were stone cold and super greasy, the fish was stuck to the paper when unwrapping disintegrated. My wife ordered Mushy peas, which looked radioactive… There was nothing redeem this expensive crap.

I think these are a new addition to the menu - tried them for the first time this weekend - they were amazing! Large chunks of flaky cod, in a really crisp lightly spiced batter - delicious! Massive portion - I will Definately be having these again - 5 stars!

I have to give full marks! Staff are friendly and helpful, I was the only customer & both servers attended to my small order. I can honestly say these are the best chips I've had from a chippy for yonks, they're currently serving new season potatoes & they taste like home made chips at your nans house and the curry sauce is thick and flavourful. It was my first visit but I'll definitely be driving the extra miles to visit again, worth traveling for. I noticed some complaints about having to wait for freshly cooked food but I see this as a plus point. You do always have the option to pre order & collect which would help people short of time but I'm happy to wait for fresh food

Cooked in small batches or to order, so you might have to wait a little while, but you get good quality fresh food. We had fish and chips, generous portion sizes and well cooked.

A lovely range of traditional fish and chip shop fare, with items cooked to order with customers’ individual preferences a really well catered for. Beautiful quality items across the range and a very friendly and interpersonal servers. Well worth a visit.

Consistently first rate quality fish, chips, pies and related chip shop products. Really tasty and always served by pleasantly interpersonal staff, who are always eager to please customers

Very nice and polite staff hard workers work here everytime I go in there flying up and dow giving there customers excellent service everytime. The bad thing is its NOT ZHalal as I only eat halal as a muslim but there food look fresh and delicious they fry all food in same oil which even make the fish Haram.

Although I only visit a couple of times a year, the staff not only remember me buf also my order. Often the fish is cooked ti order and is always excellent.

This place is fantastic, the guy is who owns its is a young entrepreneur who has got the balance between good quality food and good service just right. He is also brilliant with staff and does on the job coaching with staff, which is fab to see. This place and this guy are inspirational! He thoroughly deserves to have a very successful busienss

Like a few people I'd not been buying fish and chips for some while and I was surprised at the cost. But it was not as much as I'd expected! I thought the large Haddock and the large Cod we're a reasonable price and I must say my Haddock tasted delicious! And plenty of chips too! I know it's a difficult time with the prices of fish and oil sky rocketing but I thought the Crown was doing a great job and looking after their customers. Top marks folks. I'll be going back more often now.

Got served stale fish bites and chips, both had clearly been sitting through a quiet patch, (got told this by the staff when questioned) server put down fresh chips and a few pieces of fish as per my order. Got back to the office to be greeted by the 2 stale hard battered fish which was tough and not fit for serving and hot and cold chips mixed in the same tray. Not happy at all as i had to pay extra for the fish. Went back to complain twice but got fobbed off both times asked to come back when the owner was in ,.. went in today and got told there will be " no form of compensation as we've served u fresh food since " Ridiculous.

Cod portions are very small, Chips are tasteless. Kebab meat is terrible quality and too thick. This is also very pricey for a chip shop.

Have used this establishment for 20 years but since it’s recently changed hands I’ve had re heated chips and over heated dry pies. Curry sauce has now the consistency of water. Cut backs are evident coupled with unhappy staff with inefficient service. Take a leaf out of Aldridge chippy and see how efficient the service is.

We have been going to The Crown for around 6 years since moving round the corner. Until last year we (the family) were big fans of the place. The owner and staff were friendly and the food was very high quality.

They've had two good reviews from me but yesterday was appalling. Queue almost out the door and no one being served for 5 mins whilst things cook. No apology for the wait and a tiny portion of chips served. Friday evening at peak time. Plan ahead for busy periods or customers will go elsewhere.

This is a fabulous chippie. There are always plenty of staff working and they serve quickly. The food tastes great and it is clear from the flavour that the oil is changed regularly. There is plenty of choice; including kebabs. Special orders can be called across the counter, as you arrive so that by the time you reach the front of the queue it will almost certainly be ready for you ( though sometimes the queue moves quickly). The portions are generous, so much so, that on a recent occasion one of the owners was concerned that the mini fish was too small, so she insisted that another one was added! The chip portions are also fair. The place is spotlessly clean. (5 hygiene rating)We tried the place in Streetly and it is not a patch on this place. We would never go anywhere else. Try this one, you won't regret it.

There are a few chippies within 5 mins drive if us but we always aim for the crown. Always friendly and lots of staff so you can get your piece of haddock battered and cooking as you enter without interrupting someone in the till. Big portions. Regular chips is plenty for 2.

It's worth making the effort to get your fish n chips or whatever you fancy from this incredibly good chippie. In all the years we've used it, there's never been a bad meal sold to us, the fish is usually firm and white and perfectly cooked, chips simply gorgeous, everything else looks appetising (including doner meat which I have almost been tempted by, but not quite). The shop is spotlessly clean and there's plenty of evidence to suggest the place is regularly deep cleaned. The staff are friendly, quick and efficient. We are very lucky to have such a great takeaway in Four Oaks.
