Wonderful atmosphere, great food great service

Unfortunately not my best experience of miller and carter. Nice building, nice furniture, but let down by other factors. The dust along the edge of the table divider was off putting from the outset. Unfortunately after being seated we were not advised of the items which were unavailable, two of which I tried to order. Starters were good, but mains were disappointing with the most fatty piece of steak I've had. Certainly not the best experience of Miller and Carter I've had and will not return to this branch.

Nice meal for my son's birthday however, the lettuce wedges are leafs nowadays days and the cauliflower wings are banging but 7.50 for literally 4 florets is embarrassing. 3 carrot batons when they served the mains too lol. Tight isn't the word. I know prices have gone up but cutting back on basics , behave 😒.

Jade was our waitress for the evening and made it very special. Celebrated a birthday and Jade gave us a surpise birthday pudding and sang with our family. Jade was very welcoming with our little girl and was very friendly. Thank you very much

It was such a wonderful experience. We were looking for a place exactly like this nice, peaceful, beautiful, and with great view to the lake, you can see sunset from there. The food was absolutely perfect. That lettuce salad was tasty. Steaks were really well done. Staff were also nice and friendly with a great atmosphere. There is plenty of parking area. A warm welcome from the front desk. Two almost separate spaces for drink and food, different menu. I took the picture with my phone, enjoying the sunset.

We requested a lake view for the valentines menu which I understand can’t always be granted but we were sat in a corner by the toilets. As I sat down I had to wipe my own seat from food from the previous customer. My partner ordered a rose and raspberry soda which he pointed to the item on the menu too but received a tonic water, after informing another waiter she checked out order on the tablet and I told us it was put down as a tonic water so she went back to replace it and came back telling us that we had the right drink to begin with, she was gaslighting us into believing it was the correct drink when she herself told us it was on the tablet wrong and the man who originally served us came over to apologise as “the tablet messed up”. The way she made me feel already put a damper on our valentines evening. The menu was filthy so i put it on the floor away from sight and the lamp had food smears all down it so i had to cover it up with the salt and pepper as it was off putting. When my starter came my dish was all chipped all around which for “fine dining” I didn’t expect. I also ordered a “very well” done steak which the waiter (the same man) joked asking if I want it crispy which I said yes so he clearly noted down the correct way only to receive pink meat. My boyfriend ordered seasoned fries and go given vegetables. I didn’t want to wait again for my food to be cooked after waiting for the fries which weren’t even seasoned and my boiled potatoes were bland. For £80 it was the worst valentines ever I had tears in my eyes. We did have the valentines set menu but we left before we had desert because the experience was just awful. To top it off, one of the kitchen staff came out to talk to a waiter and they put their hand down their trousers while stood in the corner. My boyfriend also said one of the staff members left the toilet a mess. I was always told miller and carter was the best place to go for steak and everyone raves over the franchise including my sister so I was excited to go for the first time under the impression it would be a nice restaurant. But we were very disappointed. We were told there was a dress code too by others but so many people were in shorts and T shirts and hoodies with bubble trainers, it didn’t feel romantic in the slightest. I left the place hungry, feeling down from the treatment and also £80 down.

Mark was a great server. Good food for Sunday lunch. We had Sharing Board. All lovely staff. Clean toilets. Keep it up & well done .

We waited 20 minutes past our booking to be seated and wasn’t offered a drink when we were finally sat down. The starters were awful, chicken I had looked like it had been sat all day very dry coating and meat was horrible tasting thigh meat, no real flavor whatsoever. The mains were cold on arrival and took 1 hour to arrive, chips cold / onion loaf cold and steak very cold too. The plates were circular that weren’t the usual square or board style and looked like we were eating at a school canteen. To top it off none of the desserts we wanted were available so we were stuck ordering the brownie which was so dry we couldn’t eat it.

We came on a really busy Sunday evening and Harry was absolutely brilliant, made our night. Thanks Harry!!

Our first time at this millers. The service was a little slow but it’s expected when you go at a busy time so it’s understandable and that was fine with us (table booked for 6:30pm). We had an amazing experience, the service wasn’t an issue our waitress was brilliant, the food was delicious, we will return again! We could hear there were a few issues on other tables around us because of how loud they were complaining (unsure what about) but that was their business and not our problem, our night was fab 🥰

Ok , been here tonight with my wife for a special occasion. The service here is diabolical and that's a understatement, the waitresses around us had a couldn't care less attitude. I understand totally that they were busy but why book the place out if you don't have the staff to cope ? My daughter works in hospitality so I'm always aware of how staff should be treated but this mob are painfully unaware of there incompetence.Only one came out with any credit and his name was Matt , he asked us to stay/come back but the damage was done . Matt you are a credit to this establishment but the rest of the staff could not hold a candle to you . We could not get a drink , my wife having to flap her hands about and this was after waiting patiently.one and a half hrs wait for food , I had fillet medium rare came out blue sent back came back out again blue I refused to eat the rest . They left my steak off the bill but I was not after that , I was after a steak . Other table directly behind me complaining about food also , you really couldn't make this up . I know this sounds like a bit of a rant but you pay good money and you would like decent service and edible food . I've had better food/service at a Toby restaurant. I've got pictures of this steak and honest to god I don't know how you can get it so wrong . Hey Matt jump ship fella they don't deserve you there 👍

Me and my family over the years have been frequent visitors to MnC and have always had great service and food. Unfortunately our last few visits we have left the restaurant hungry and dissapointed. Myself and husband visited on Thursday, the restaurant was understandably busy. Our server firstly got my husbands drink mixed up we asked for a Guinness but received a Madri. My husband really is not one to make a fuss so accepted it. We then ordered and that was all good our starters came out and they were fine we then waited 25 mins for our mains. Half rack ribs no slaw and dirty burger. Our mains came and my ribs were under cooked, tough and cold. Fries were overcoked and cold on both. I had slaw. No steak knife either. Dirty burger the burger and steak both cold and onionloaf soggy. I ate 2 ribs and left the rest. My husband had 2 bites of his burger. We asked for the bill the server did not ask why we hardly eaten anything. We paid and left and came home hungry and disappointed. So not worth the money if food can not be served hot and cooked and if the staff don't care. Will be a while before we return If we do at all. Used to be such a good place but standards and staff have slipped alot.

Had a fantastic 3 course meal, we came for valentines but was a few days early to avoid it being too busy. The server/waitress was great, everything was done in great time and the food was cooked to perfection. If we asked for anything it was done very quickly. Would go back regularly but couldn’t justify the price, we will go back, but only for special occasions

Visited on Saturday 8th as a couple for a celebration. The food was excellent however the service was really poor, the environment seemed chaotic and the team were rushing around our server seemed extremely stressed.Two young females virtually slammed our mains on the table. This for us was a very disappointing visit which didn’t help with younger clientele smelling of weed near our table.

Excellent food. Nice atmosphere. Warm on a cold winter's evening. Great service from the lady who looked after us - good rapport with all of our party, from the 10 years old birthday boy to the octogenarian great grandparents!

The second time we've been served by Matt P and have to say, he's incredible everytime! Very rare you get such a warm welcome and service in big places like M&C, he's an absolute credit to the company. This branch is becoming a firm favourite because of this guy - see you again soon!

Jayne our server was brilliant. She timed everything really well, never being too quick or too slow to allow each course to flow. And she was Avery kind and friendly person which makes the whole experience that much better. The stand out apart from a simply amazing steak was the truly awesome beef dripping sauce, OMG I could drink a pint of it.

Our server Mat P was exceptional and he is a legend. We always ask for him. He made my sons birthday really special.

The food was good and cooked to perfection The service was very slow and i noticed a number of servers just walk past our table without removing the dirty plates, which sat there until we left. We asked for the bill with 1 server and then waited nearly 15 minutes for this to be brought over. We were charged incorrectly, as we had ordered off the lunch menu but were charged the regular price. The server was unable to scan our app for the loyalty stamp. Rather than go and fetch another machine she just said it could not be scanned. A manager came over with a 2nd machine and he was able to scan the qr code Our server was not very attentive and it was very slow. Food was great service was poor.

We were welcomed most warmly and taken to a table overlooking the lake which was very nice. The young lady was very pleasant took our drinks order and left us with the menus to decide on our order. We were not left waiting very long before she came back and took our order and we chatted to her about her career in hospitality. Our meal arrived, was very well presented and both steaks were excellent. At no time were we rushed or made to feel we were not important. An excellent experience.

Had a lovely lunch, prawn cocktails and sirloin steaks which were cooked to perfection. Our server Carol was really helpful and pleasant , we will be back soon!!! 😊

Awful experience, main meals were inedible. Waiter disappeared, left sitting at a table of dirty plates for over half a hour. Another waiter tried to help but ended up physically going and finding the manager myself. Restaurant itself noisy and excessively hot.

We were a table of 14, celebrating an 18th birthday. Courtney served us and she was absolutely perfect. Yeah food was nice and that, but it was genuinely made better by her attentiveness, helpfulness, and just being a genuinely nice person. Nothing was too much trouble, and it felt like we were her only priority for the couple of hours we were there. Please give her a raise and a promotion and her own parking space or summat. Thank you.

I go to various Miller & Carters around the country, this is my first time to this one here in Sutton, and I must say, me and my partner have thoroughly enjoyed our visit here tonight. The food was splendid, drinks were on point, and our server Matt P made our night. Thank you very much for your kindness and humour. You are a credit to your company. I am not a person who usually complains but the treatment my family and myself received this evening can not go unchecked. We booked for our daughter’s 16th birthday and had a high hopes due to us using Millar and Carter in Sutton Park. We placed our orders and explained our youngest daughter does not want any vegetables or any other accompany food with her sea bass fillet. We joked with the waiter about this. Sea bass and chips only. We also ordered starters where we ordered garlic toast with no cheese for my youngest. To start. Garlic toast arrived with cheese, this understandably can be mistaken. Main meal and the sea bass came on top of the full regale of green and potato. We asked to have this changed and they did but what they did was inexcusable. They took the fish off the top and put it on a plate and delivered it back with all the veg etc on the underside. I complained and they changed it. I then asked to speak to the manager who I was told is Micheal. He came to our table with a total disrespecting attitude. I explained the above but did not listen and kept saying ‘do you want a fresh fish’. I said again and again no it’s been swapped but his face was so angry it made us feel uncomfortable and everyone started looking at us. In the end he walked away. Everyone kept starting at us. My wife and myself couldn’t finish our meals we were so annoyed. It was an evening for our daughter. I do not want a free meal of refund. If this is the way your managers operate your restaurants I will never darken your food again. Please note I will also publish my complaint all over public media. I/We have never been treated like this before. The pictures show what we left and what we always spend in your restaurant, your Manager ruined our daughter’s birthday. This is the email I have sent to Millar and Cater after our treatment this evening

Lovely experience, our waitress Abbie was excellent and went above and beyond. Would definitely visit again. She was really helpful and assisted us with all our needs.

Our family has been using this place for over 5 years. This is the first time we have had such bad service from a manager. Each time we spend at least 250 pounds. This time it was really bad. Our family will never use this place again. The manager has a terrible attitude towards us.The manager is name Michael, I don’t know if I spell his name correct but he never said sorry, he just gave us a dirty look. My family and I couldn't finish our steak because of this manager. We checked the bill and left the restaurant. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

This was our first visit to the Sutton Park restaurant, and we loved it the location is nice and scenic. (we usually visit the one in Burton upon Trent). Food was excellent an the service was attentive, polite and friendly.

I dropped a star just due to the long wait - we had a table booked for 8.30pm were only brought through at 9.10pm, grabbed a drink in the meantime. Abbie our server was great! I'd give her 5 stars!! A couple of mishaps with our order, which of course happens, but she sorted it quickly so it was no bother at all! Steaks were wonderful, cooked exactly as we both wanted. Obsessed with the onion loaf. Shall be back!

Came here for my Birthday meal with friends and family and it was amazing! Luke, our waiter, was fantastic. As a group of 7, we had a lot of food! The highlight of the meal was the Sunday sharing platter! It was so good! The meat was cooked to perfection and I loved all the sides that came with it. We also had: Mushroom starter Camembert starter Bone marrow Chicken wings Calamari Burger Sirloin steak x 2 Kids pasta and meatballs Onion loaf Halloumi fries Chips Macaroni cheese Garlic mushrooms Cheesecake Vanilla ice-cream Chocolate brownie Overall, a fantastic meal, good atmosphere and excellent service.

Our first time here tonight, great food and a really great experience enhanced by our sever Ellie. Ellie went above and beyond, nothing was too much and had a smile on her face at all times. Ellie was lovely, polite and patient with us. A real credit to you. We will definitely be coming back after such a warm welcome from Ellie.

Have been to this Miller and Carter many time before and always have the typical amazing service and food. Went for a date night last Sunday as wanted the Sunday sharing roast, unfortunately we’d left it too late and they had sold out, still waiting to try it. However it’s not a bad place to be to have to go for a second choice. As always with Miller and Carter the steak was incredible. Unlike the usual Miller and Carter experience our server didn’t seem as if he wanted to be there. Luckily this won’t deter us and we will deffo be back. This is a very nice location for luck also if you can get a table with a lake view.

Very disappointed the beef dripping gravy was left out of order.

Went there for our anniversary. We were 40mins early and was seated straight away. Place looked clean and a lot of couple were present. Our waiter however, appeared new and didn't know how to answer our questions. Service with food was a quick. I loved my fillet steak and cooked the way I wanted Will go again

Visited for Sunday lunch with my husband to celebrate my birthday. The restaurant with a view of the lake was perfect. Our waiter was a lovely young man, Luke. Our drinks order on arrival was taken by the lady at the desk and Luke got our drinks and helped us with our order. My steak was lovely however my husband's was a little fatty but everything else was perfect as where the additional side orders. Our dessert order was taken and what a lovely touch because my dessert arrived with happy birthday piped on the side of the dish with a candle, which Luke said for me to make a wish and that he hoped it would come true. He even wrote happy birthday on the bill. Made my day. So definitely will be revisiting and well done all. served us today and what a lovely young man. Food was good would have been 5 stars but one of the steaks was quite fatty, however everything else was top notch.
