Miller & Carter Steakhouse in Birmingham

Harry was our waiter. He is a lovely lad. Nothing was too much trouble . Excellent service from him. Great food. Only complaint is that my daughter in law wanted an alcohol free cocktail as she is pregnant but she got asked for I.D. Why do we need I.D for a non alcoholic drink. ?

Mixed bag of a dining experiance this one. Went on a thursday evening. We were a walk in and they couldn't sit us for 20 mins which was fine. Had a drink the very comfortable bar/lounge area next to a log fire! On going to our table we noticed a server apologising profusely to other diners. The restaurant seemed busy even though there were still few empty tables, we arrived at 8.30 so we felt we were a bit later than peak time. Took 20 minutes before and server could come and take a drinks order (we ordered food at this point anyway!) The starters took 35 minutes to arrive and when they did come, they were luke warm. The poor server did come and ask if all was OK and we explained that while we had eaten because we were so hungry, the food wasn't warm enough. She was apologetic. Mains arrived hot, steaks cooked as ordered and everything was tasty. My 1st time in a Miller and Carter - the wedge of lettuce is a bit weird for a more up market restaurant but hey ho. Desert was also very good, again a little slow coming out. It was 10.40 by the time we finished eating. It was hard to flag a server for the bill. The server was apologetic. They had clearly had a manic day and were short of staff. They took the price of the starters off without needing to be asked in fairness. So our server was lovely, albeit clearly tired and had obviously spend most her shift apologising. Clearly management have failed to get enough staff or allowed over booking to the detriment of the experiance. Wasn't very clear if there was a manager on hand trying to pull the team together and organise or help the team out. Overall a disappointing 1st time at a Miller and Carter.

Warm atmosphere and attentive staff. The meatballs in marinara were delicious, though a bit salty. Still, everything else made up for it. Worth another visit.

Was abit annoyed that the delivery man called to say road was closed so had to walk 10 mins up the road to meet him but when I got there he was knocking my door! Could have told me I didn’t need to go meet him an he even laughed when my daughter told him I had already gone to meet him! Not impressed at all!

Me and my husband visited Thursday night, the restaurant was very busy but our waitress Carly was amazing. She never failed to make sure we was ok and if there was anything we needed, a very polite and attentive girl. Will definitely be returning!

Me and my husband visited miller and carter Sutton Coldfield for my birthday and the waiter hubby was ever so lovely and she was very accommodating she even brought a cake out for my birthday as a surprise and the place was very nice and chill

We attended for lunch during the week and the atmosphere was lovely and calm, great window view. Service was brilliant served by Hubzy was very polite and professional and friendly. Timing of service was great and will be going back. Food was lovely we had 3 courses all perfect portion sizes and good quality. 4 stars for the food as I feel the min desert could do with either a small scoop of ice cream or cream on top. Overall meal was great.

Arrived and sat at the lakeside window, looked lovely. Ordered chicken bites with chilli jam for starter, that was really nice. Fish and chips for main, fish had no taste at all, chips were raw not cooked through. Would have expected more, don’t think I’d visit again, staff were polite though.

Had a lovely meal yet again in millers. Big shout out to Jayne she was fantastic lovely professional lady and looked after us. Steaks yet again amazing. Gorgeous views over the water. Would have been lovely for the outdoor area to be open on such a gorgeous day but we heard it’s out of use till possibly next year. Thanks agsin

Usually the food is very good. Unfortunately, at our last visit, they did not have some menu items that we wanted (which is unusual and probably because of a busy bank holiday weekend), and our steaks were not cooked as we asked (first time this has ever been a problem).

Very sticky carpet's on arrival and the smell of piss by the bar and toilets, pretty low key interior and very over priced food and drinks, please avoid, upsetting.

Very dissapointing. Had to wait for our table to be ready despite having a booking and plenty of empty tables. Sold out of 5 different options on the menu including the vegetable sticks on the kids menu (not sure how you sell out of vegetable sticks when other dishes have the same vegtables). The food lacked any presentation it looked as if the food had been thrown on the plate. The kids chicken main was overcooked and didn't come with the bbq dip or the peas so was just fries and chunks of burnt chicken. My brothers food the steak was undercooked and had to be redone. There was no great taste to any of the food as a whole. The desserts were also missing raspberries and mint. The waiter seemed nice enough but forgot our drinks and the kids menu and called my mom and daughter sir 3 times. Used to be quite nice and now it's really gone downhill I would not recommend especially considering the price

We visited to celebrate my Grandad’s birthday, and had a lovely time. The service was excellent—Jess took great care of us throughout. She was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything went smoothly. Would definitely recommend for a family celebration!

I have eaten in numerous M&C restaurants across the UK, thus restaurant was the friendliest so far.. and most are very good. I was made to feel so welcome by everyone but especially Hubzy. She also gave me directions on walking home ensuring I was safe as I didn't know the area and was walking. Such a beautiful place to sit too overlooking the lake.

Luke was our server on Monday evening for our team Christmas party….. yes in April as we work in hospitality! We were a very large party and they all know how to let their hair down 😂 Luke had the patience of a saint with us! He couldn’t have done more for us, despite sometimes not getting everyone’s full attention! Luke…. We were the party that we would have hated to serve! But you were so patient and we can’t thank you enough. First time visit to to celebrate my hubbys 50th for lunch.. I got say was not disappointed the view of lake from the window, food was excellent and service can not fault.. Luke who looked after us from start to finish was superb nothing to ask for as he took care of it all! We came into miller and Carter Sutton for a small bite of lunch forgetting it being a Sunday and there being no lunch menu available after we had sat down however despite this our waiter Matt P was extremely accommodating and helpful and we decided to stay and have some starters to share his energy made for a really enjoyable lunch

Just got home from miller & carter Sutton Coldfield (Friday 25th april) not busy in the restaurant but short staffed, we had the 2 course set menu, no starters, had to wait 45mins for our mains, when you get to a certain point in time when it occurs to you that you've been waiting a long time for your food every minute seems like 20. You get your food quicker when the restaurant is rammed than in the week when it's really quiet. They don't put the staff on when it's quiet to save on wages but that means that if you want to eat there midweek you could be facing a long wait for your courses. Count me out miller and carter.

Had a fabulous lunch at Miller and Carter today. We were there to start off the celebrations for our gorgeous niece's 21st birthday coming up this weekend. We plumped for the lunchtime menu. Starters included chipotle chicken, a firm favourite with niece, and the creamy cheesy mushrooms are a must. Both myself and niece went for the 7oz steak which were juicy, tender and tasty. Hubby's tomahawk pork was a big hit as well. Everything was piping hot when served. Thank you to 'Hubzy' (Emma), our lovely waitress. Friendly, chatty and attentive. She made a fuss of the birthday girl and bought out a special birthday treat to round off our visit. Will definitely be going back.

Came here to celebrate the husbands birthday and it was such a lovely meal to say the least. I've never had steak before so my lovely waitress Jess helped talk me through the options and even gave me a few recommendations. First time at a Miller and Carter too so she explained the lettuce wedges to us excellently. It was excellent and we would definitely come back again, just wish we'd had room for dessert!
