Rubbish service at the bar over 1 hour for food service atmosphere dull only 4 in whole of pub

Live Sports Bar, that turns off live sport to show news of stuff that clearly isn't live. Maybe change that description going forward.

Had wings here and bowl of them was £6.00 there was 4 wings and had no meat on them and where dry and flavourless. Eating them made me sad.

Visited today very disappointing we were served a well done steak that was certainly not well done and when returned was still not cooked properly. Used to be a regular visitor as the food, service and atmosphere has always been lovely and good value. I have vast personal and professional experience of the Hospitality industry and will not be returning or recommending in a hurry. Aug 2024 Popped in for quick drink to meet brother and his friends OMG the prices are shocking!!

Hi had lunch today not very impressed with the food very high prices and my son had pizza and we had to wait ages as I wanted my steak well done so he had finished his by the time my steak arrived not very impressed xx

Popped in yesterday for lunch, can't believe the new prices!! £15.95 for a burger!! I think they now feel they are a "fine dinning" venue. All prices have escalated. They have a long way to go before justifying new prices,the pub desperately needs new decor and furniture. No wonder the place was empty! Had one drink and went to Horse and Jockey much better atmosphere and prices. Good food too. Sorry Oak always enjoyed food but won't be spending hard earned cash while your prices can not be justified by your venue.

Family function there today, looked after us nicely, good buffet.

Nice afternoon in the sun, really nice food and served very quickly too. Dog friendly, always a plus, will definitely visit again.

Disappointing - no longer family friendly. The new owners seem to have gotten the formula totally wrong here. The local area is full of families and a lot have dogs. You can’t visit this pub as a family with your dog and children - even though they reckon it is family and dog friendly. Dogs can only go into the bar and children only into the lounge so you have to sit separately. Utter madness. We won’t be returning.

New owners - give your head a wobble. If you have a child and a dog you are not welcome in this pub. There isn't an area for you to sit as a family. There's one area for your dog, and one area for children, but nowhere you can sit together. Makes no sense. Won't be coming back to this nonsense.

Had a lovely meal at the Oak last night. The food was good and the service amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for a great night.

Had a great evening at The Oak today! The food and service was excellent! Thank you to the landlord Arran and his team for making our evening extra special! Rebooking again very soon!

Never tried the food. Good beers. Though it can manly be doom bar and John Smiths.

Went with a friend for lunch this afternoon ( first time visiting) The staff extremely friendly Service was 5* The young man was very accommodating And the food was fast and delicious Will be returning in the future lovely spot 😊

Food was nice. Barmaid was lovely. But won't be going again. This place is our local and has always been dog friendly. So in the lounge we went for Sunday lunch 4 of us ,the barmaid bought our condiments to the table and politely told me that since the new owners dogs were not allowed in the lounge only the bar, but she said it was alright this time and it was very quiet anyway, she even bought over some treats and water for them . So unfortunately will not be going in there again

Nice pub good staff. Nice atmosphere.

Reserved table for a family meal. Ordered at the bar. Food arrived quick and hot. Waitress got food mixed up and gave chicken wings to the vegetarians and the cauliflower wings to the meat eaters, luckily we realised and swapped. Pub okay for locals.

Always enjoy coming to the oak. The staff are friendly, always remember what your drinking, fabulous food and a nice relaxed atmosphere. Kids always like coming also a dog friendly. Our rotty is always spoiled when he comes 5 ⭐️

Great place to share a drink amongst friends, the staff are all very welcoming and nice, the fact there’s a sports bar available with pool and darts is the ice breaker for me. Got to say the three key staff members while I was there were phenomenal, Soph, Salina and Rina were a joy and pleasure to be around.

Came to the oak on a Thursday day time had a quiet pint and vhatted to the young bar lady she was amazing company 10/10 would reccomend

Been visiting the Oak a lot recently, it’s a bit tucked away but well worth going out of your way for! £2.25 a pint on a tuesday go on then

We organised a night at the Oak based on the quiz on Thursday, however, despite it being advertised in the pub and us reserving a table for the quiz, we were told the quiz has not been held for a while due to system errors - should get their advertising right - shame as its a nice pub

Great place if you are local or fancy stopping by when you are commuting past or are coming down the canal on boat, they have a big complex, two bars, bar is for all sports, and the other one is just a general bar, also sell hot food so nice place to come for dinner, as you also can sit outside.

Food was good, the service was excellent. Been a while since I've encountered bar staff that polite . Recommend 100%.

We visited here for the first time for dinner, what a lovely pub. Staff were so welcoming, great menu with lots of options, food tasted great and very reasonably priced. Will definitely be back soon.

Only found this place a couple of weeks ago but very impressed. Only had a drink but lovely and clean, bright and airy. The good coming out the kitchens looked fabulous. Menu had good choices and very reasonably priced. Definitely visiting again and will order food.

Estate based local, offering decent beer and food and a decent price pool table in bar.

The lady serving is a really friendly lady has a big welcoming smile.

A beautiful pub. Lovely staff and caring owner. They run this pub like no other. Lovely food and wide selection of drinks. Beer Garden is astounding and a perfect place to sit during the summer with the sun on you all day (unless cloudy). Would recommend to other customers in the area who need a good drink!!

It's OK. Not much of a beer garden. The staff were helpful. Lacked atmosphere. Definitely more of a binge drinking session pub than a casual meal and drink one Edit to add to the owner: it's not that I wasn't satisfied, there were just areas it could have been improved. We will be returning, the staff were very good despite being extremely busy.

This place has good food and the customer service is amazing, the staff are all friendly and make the effort to have a conversation with you and the food was served really quickly. My only issues were that the music was quite loud at 7pm when trying to have a family meal, the space was also very overcrowded, too many covers had been sandwiched in to small spaces which meant it was hard to sit at the table and maneuver while enjoying our meal.

Very noisy between 5.30&6.30pm but the meal was first class cook to perfection.All the staff are very friendly and polite.

Just had an All Day Breakfast. Everything was hot and the Eggs were cooked to perfection. Staff really nice and friendly. Will be returning.

Never disappointed. Doesn't pretend to be a gastropub. Honest, good value. TV screens everywhere. Good, small range of real ale. Widest range of gins I've seen for a long time. Small courtyard 🍺 garden. 🐕 friendly.

Staff both front of house and in the kitchen were friendly and extremely accommodating, made to feel very welcome and the food was chucked in me pie hole with gusto

Found this pub a couple of weeks ago and couldn't believe I'd never known it was there before. Great value for money, the food is really nice and the staff are very attentive and pleasant. Have been in several times since my first visit and always get a warm welcome and really like the atmosphere in there. Also very dog friendly. Great pub

Went 28 August there was 4 of us. First no beef and ale pies so 2 of us choose fish and chips. No coley but we could have cod which would cost £1 extra. So my sister's paid the extra £1. Tried to order 3 coffees only to be told they had run out of milk. Unbelievable. Need to get they act together. The other 2 meals were good.
