Food: - Fries were the only thing to compliment, which isn't a compliment in itself as it's not hard to cook fries properly - Fajita salad bowl was comprised of salty mush avocado, a ball of coriander, marinated peppers that contributed to how wet everything was, black beans were the only nice part, shredded cabbage and sloppy rice at the bottom - everything was just so wet - Chicken added onto salad bowl was £5 for 2 pieces of burnt, oily chicken, each the shape and size of drinks coasters - Hot dog itself was small, burnt and just tasted like rubber and the bun was hard and stale - "Tacos" were just mini wraps with a bit of mayo, shredded cabbage and sad little balls of fried shrimp Service: - For such a quiet place on a Weds evening, no one came to check if the food was alright, there was barely any cutlery or napkins as we had to go to 2 other different tables to get what we needed Cleanliness - Loos were hard to find, labelled with a sign that blends into the wall, about the size of my hand, down the side of the bar. Loos smelled unclean, cig butts over the floor and just looked and felt dirty, at least they had baylis harding soap but you could say that was compensating - Tables felt sticky However, they did have a good selection of drinks available

The toilet was in a disgraceful state for a sunday afternoon.

Was served by the wonderful Sam C with the pink hair ! Wonderful customer service even towards the end of the night! Thankyou Sam C you made our evening!!!

Never eaten here but one of my favorite bars overlooking St Paul's Square with its old church and trees. Lovely place to sit outside and they got a good selection of beer and wine.

Off peak darts - £40 for 2 hours Tuesday 50% off margaritas and tacos. Dog friendly too

place nice food wasn't great , I queried it, only to be met with a sarcastic answer from the chap who seemed to be running the place. Not great value £40 for less than average light lunch and 2 drinks. Far better places to go around that area. Attitude of staff turned me right off...won't go back.

After our recent Staff Conference, we moved on to the Rectory & 180 Club. You don't have to be a capable darts player to enjoy the variety of darts-based games available, nor a maths whizz, as the scores are automatically calculated. In addition, the food laid on for us was top-drawer and very enjoyable. If you're looking for an after-conference venue you'd be hard pressed to beat this one.

The vegan burger is to die for, compliments to the chef absolutely worth every penny 🤤

Ordered a cocktail, it was so sweet, I could have gotten diabetes. I was shocked. 10 ponds for a cocktail that is impossible to drink. Aperol is also bad. Law quality for such a price. Toilets are old, tiny and smelly. The location is wonderful, obviously. St Paul’s is beautiful.

Really nice old style pub, with comfy seating, quite a cosy, relaxed atmosphere. The beer was cold and thirst quenching, and we enjoyed them in the outside courtyard area. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Food was ok but nothing amazing. Still, did the job. Didn't get an itemized bill but looking at the food prices, our beers were 8 quid each. Bit steep for a regular pint...

Excellent service. I have a severe shellfish allergy and I spoke to the head chef to ensure the food I got what was suitable for me. Excellent service, would really recommend this venue. Food was delicious.

Amazing venue, staff are really friendly and helpful, the darts equipment is on par with Flight Club, but this a fraction of the price. Highly recommend.

The service was good, kind and fairly personable. We got two rhubarb gin sours and were not a fan at all of the extremely eggy, sour and unsweetened drink that arrived. Politely complained, but to no avail. We treid the Haloumi fries and for £7 we got 4 chips. Really nice atmosphere for a simple group event and beer, but thats it.

Nice place for darts and cocktails , small plate food was rather pricey but tasted great, cocktails made perfectly , however we did visit in off peak times as peak times are double price for darts

Empty and tired looking. Not many Gluten free options Food was OK but expensive for the basic meals we were served. Other lunch options around the area so will go elsewhere

Went out with work colleagues and had a fantastic time. Never played darts before and I really enjoyed it (I was very bad). We got served very quickly, great drinks, good price, we all had burgers - no issues. Can’t wait to go again, the darts is the best part!

A quiet January Saturday evening in Birmingham. Cosy and welcoming and the bar staff even delivered our drinks to us.

Don’t even serve long island iced teas

2 hour stint on works Xmas do. Staff friendly. Wasn't too packed. Not much on offer in terms of ale. Mainly Lager wine and spirits. Didn't opt for food. As not much on offer for my budget.

Played darts here and had a drink didn't eat, it was ok but I wouldn't rush back.

Great place for a darts night with friends! Once the dart board was working we had a great time. The music playing was also great and the service excellent.

Visited with a stag do for some late night darts. Legends were made that night, many drinks were had, but to possibly the worst soundtrack there ever was, the music was truly dreadful. Change that, and this would be a 5 star review.

Great vibe to this pub, but the toilets are a disgrace. On both occasions that I have visited recently, they have been in an absolute state and not because of client usage…. They are clearly not cleaned very often - the grim around the sinks is enough to question what the state of the kitchen is like and for me to choose alternative options in St Paul’s Square. Come on guys, it’s basic stuff!

Improve the watery neck oil, and I'd give 4 stars. Get the bar service right and 5 stars.

Went out with work colleagues and had an amazing time. Played dart games and there are multiple versions of it. Trust me, you will not get bored. You can combine players to create multiple teams and play it as a team game. Think the price was £40 for 2 hrs. I am a vegetarian and not many options were available. Had flat bread and hummus. Other team members had burgers 🍔 and they seemed happy 😊

Went to the rectory for the first time this weekend and was very impressed. We were on a bit of a crawl so popped in but ended up having 3 pints. Nice atmosphere and really friendly staff. Hopefully will get onto the dart boards next time (Our fault for not booking!)

Be warned. Although they advertised they were showing a sporting event (the National) they do not 'put the sound on' so you can't hear anything. Rubbish, should have gone somewhere else

Very nice waitress and good food. The only thing that spoilt it for us was that the music was too loud and conversation was difficult. I did ask the waitress, but she said she couldn't do anything about it. So I hope this message gets to someone who can.

Lovely ambience and friendly staff. Food well flavoured and good choice on menu including a specials menu. Good range of starters and mains. Delicious.

Went here for a work Christmas do and had a very reasonable meal considering the number of us. Steak was cooked a good medium rare which was also impressive for the number served at the same time. Not the cheapest and quite busy but overall a good night.

Haven't eaten here, just drinks. They allow a small group to meet here occasionally for an early lunchtime meeting. Very welcoming and good bar service.

Great choice of drinks including cocktails made by fab staff . Food was by Bop kebabs and was Amazing! Definitely recommend.

In Birmingham on my own for a night (September 2022), I could not have found a better place to eat, drink and chill out. The bar was lively, not rowdy, and the food was just what I'd hoped for. All of the staff were friendly and helpful without overdoing it, and even took care to accommodate my food intolerances. The Rectory's on St Paul's Square, a peaceful green spot in the Jewellery Quarter with an interesting old church.

Had a lovey few hours here, we had 3 hours playing darts with a food platter. We were a group oldest in their 70s and youngest being 10 years old. Our visit was on a Saturday afternoon and all members of the group felt comfortable and enjoyed their visit. The food was good value and most importantly good quality. The only thing that let the Rectory down was the toilets (being honest we only used the ones downstairs) but the tap in the men's didn't work and the women's could have done with a good clean. A spot of paint wouldn't hurt either(in the toilets that's is) saying that I would com back and as you can see I have given 4 stars and it would have been 5 had the toilets been clean and useable

Nice for casual dining and cocktails. The prices are reasonable too. Friendly staff You do have to pay a deposit to reserve the table but this is deducted from your bill

Great place to have a work lunch. Generally quite quiet at lunch time. Food can take a while so make sure to order quick. But always had a really nice meal

We called in here for lunch, ordered hot dog and fish and chips. 40 mins later the food had not arrived.I asked how much longer the food would be, only to be told the chef had had an “accident” with our food, and would cook it again, and we would get a discount. We asked , what kind of accident, but al, we got in reply was, an accident. We walked, lol

Main meal for Parkinson secret supper Sheppard pie with cabbage. This was very nice and the gave a good portion of food. Staff were helpful, friendly and my food was hot. People who had the the chicken dish was not happy as it was not cooked well enough, on occasion this dish was sent back twice.

If I’m honest, the food got a five star! However, the service was so poor. Manager was rude and spoke down to us, it was as if she didn’t want us there or didn’t want us to be there herself. Such a shame, this could’ve been a better review. Only 3 Jimmy Wick Stars from me! Don’t think I will be returning! Thanks to the kitchen for filling me up though!

I finally find an amazing place to have a full meal with quality! The food it was just amazing and the desert!!!!!!!! So, good that I dont even have the right word! Very well done! The place was not full of people, what gaves you space and the time to relax, exactly what I like when I go out for a meal. The staff was very friendly. I truly recommend !

I have not been here before but I was surprised what a great place it is, the 18 club in the basement is a darts club with electronic scoring and would make a great night out.

Good honest food in a trendy place.

Was disappointed as soon as I entered. Booth was cold I had to keep my coat on. 4 items from the menu wasn't available so left fewer options. Ordered chicken wings, they were unedible as so hot we couldn't eat them for ages (microwave?). Finally ordered chicken burger with coleslaw . The smallest portion of coleslaw looked like they shred a few cabbage leaves. Burnt breaded chicken and so pricy for what we got. Very disappointing!

sadly, not the best experienced. prices of food do not match the quality - chicken burger with fries costs £13.50 - quality was so bad of it though - barely any chicken in that burger, it came cold. Also I waited for it for ages (while the restaurant was empty). I asked for a water for the table - I obviously meant tap water and what I got was a bottle (already open) that I couldnt figure out whether it was tap or one I have to pay for. At the end I was charged for it. I had a burger with 2 beers and paid nearly £30 for it ??? Way too much for the quality and for the location.

A little disappointed... Having eaten here a couple of times before, we returned for my sister's birthday. Although we arrived early we were shown directly to our table - one of the snug booths inside. We had a hot toddy each - mine was a whisky and ginger wine which had an orange slice and cinnamon stick adding some extra flavour - lovely, and exactly what you need on a cold winter evening! However, as the evening went on we found the food, although delicious, wasn't very hot - the plates were cold too, which didn't help. The eating area itself was also pretty cold - luckily we had all brought scarves... The ladies loo was also less than inviting. Maria was friendly and helpful when asked about the menu. A little disappointed that the service charge was included on the menu - I would have preferred to show our appreciation to Maria and apart from that, what would we have done if the service had been terrible?!

I was enjoying a drink here as part of a group on a quiet Saturday evening. Unfortunately a few inebriated punters kicked up a fuss and a melee broke out in the middle of the pub. We weren't part of the scrap but we involved ourselves to help calm things down as there were only two male members of staff and no door security. A lady with short hair and glasses called the Police and we were tarred with the same brush as the antagonists. We were mortified to be marched out by the Police despite the fact we had helped them diffuse the situation - as stated above there was no security and only one obliging member of staff who tried to deal with it positively. Poor judgement and decision making by the manager, I wouldn't want them running my establishment. When she was questioned by one of the calmer members of the other group she acted petulant and dismissive. I've worked in hospitality and I thought it was a poor show for a city bar.

Tbh I was a bit drunk when I got here but the food was great, and the waiter who served us was very nice. I didn't catch her name, but very good service.

Service was slow and took 30 mins to take our order and a further 45 minutes for food to arrive to add to this the food turned up cold and wrong which left us with no option to sent it back as we only had 15 minutes to eat and get to our next destination. The portions we small compared to the price not worth the money.

Booked here as a group of 12 and waited 30 minutes after all the group arrived for someone to come and take our order. We ordered fish finger sandwiches, hot dogs and burgers and waited 45 minutes for the food to arrive at the table. We were due somewhere so only then had 15 minutes to eat the long awaited food. The fries orders were incorrect with standard fries given instead of sweet potato and one order of rosemary fries also being replaced with standard fries. All fish finger sandwiches were cold and had no more than 2 fingers inside. We couldn’t complain at the time because as stated above we were running late for an appointment and just had to eat as quickly as possible so we could leave. We even had to ask for the bill before all the food was served! I think for the money the food could of been better portions and certainly served warm. We were given 20% off as waitress could sense our disappointment which we appreciated but would of rathered paid full price and received the food we expected and walked away happy.

I have been there a few times now. My partner and I popped in for a quick drink while we were flat hunting and were made very welcome. We came back when we were viewing more properties and had lunch (we both had burgers) and the food was great and the staff really helpful and friendly. Service was perhaps a bit slow. I have since been back on my own for food after work and again the food was good, service friendly and relaxed. It'll be a fairly regular place for me to visit when we find the right property in the area. Would definitely recommend

Tasty food and well presented. Good service too. The room we were sat in downstairs was a little dark and lacking in atmosphere, but other than that a good meal.

My sister and I happened upon the Rectory by chance during a weekend visit. The bar was busy and we hadn't reserved a table but the staff managed to fit us in. We found the service to be polite, friendly and efficient. The cocktails were great and the food delicious. I couldn't believe the other reviews, seemed like a totally different place!

2nd visit to The Rectory after 2 years away. Bar staff much more polite and welcoming however now the bar closes at 11PM on a Bank Holiday Saturday evening. In the middle of an economy where venues have been saying they want to remain open and when asking the staff they said they want to but told they have to close. Bizarre!! Harsh bar staff and not the warmest welcome. Early closing at midnight considering it was a summer Saturday night.

We had a great night in the basement Darts booth, relaxed fun and great staff. Tom was a great host and nothing was too much trouble. 180!

We dined here on Saturday before a performance at St Pauls Church and were weary after looking at reviews about slow service that we could miss our scheduled event that evening. How very wrong we were to worry - we were looked after by Maria who was absolutely fab and very attentive despite being busy with tables. We ordered vegan nachos to start which were huge and very filling and then I had the vegan cauli cooked over coals and my partner ordered the pulled lamb over coals - both dishes were absolutely delicious and we left with plenty of time for the scheduled event that evening and with very full stomachs! Thanks to the whole team, would not hesitate to return!

Unfortunately not a great experience here. Decided to have a couple of afternoon beers and sat at one of the benches outside. The first bar staff we saw mentioned the app wasn’t working so it was table service. He took our order and there was a fair amount of wait time before our drinks were delivered. Our glasses were dirty. As we were nearing the end of our drinks more and more people were arriving and there was no sign of any staff. We ended up going in to see if we could order another drink and were told that our table was required immediately and we had to leave. I don’t mind if a table is reserved but having never been told that we were on a time limit was frustrating. Wouldn’t rush back.

Finding a table inside wasn't difficult- the place was half empty on a Saturday night. In retrospect that should have been a warning, but with fond memories from previous visits I wanted it to be an enjoyable experience. Sadly it was absolutely painful firstly to place an order and then to get the drinks. When they arrived after 15 minutes, the order was wrong! Cue all the staff huddling round the tray to inspect what had happened, holding an inquiry into the incident instead of just pouring the drinks! This place should be renamed the Defectory.

Stopped here for little drink before we went home. Took a long time for someone to take our orders we were told to sit down and someone would come over. When they did they said we closing shortly so we could only have one. Tables weren't clean
