Visited this pub recently, and I had a pretty good experience overall! The place is super lively with a nice, open layout that makes it feel bright and spacious, especially with the glass roof letting in all that natural light. Got myself a classic pint, and the seating was comfortable enough to just relax and enjoy the vibe. The menu was massive, with loads to pick from at really decent prices, and the staff were polite and helpful too. Only downside? A few tables were left a bit messy when it got really busy, but I’ll cut them some slack because the place was packed. Seems like a spot that’s perfect for groups or even just a chilled evening out with friends – though if you’re on your own, it might not have that cozy pub feel some people might expect.

OK, large wetherspoons well kept

It’s good, very lively place. However if you are on your own then it’s no good because I don’t think it’s like a normal English boozer. You can’t go in there and make friends. Not very friendly place. Although saying that bar staff is quite friendly

The food was amazing at a very good price,we had a big menu which you have a big variety to choose from. The staff was very polite and helpful. The one thing that i didn’t like was the cleaning…a few table they were sitting with dirty plates,but will excuse them because the pub was almost full.

Had a good afternoon the only problem was the VAPEING it was going on everywhere as a none smoker there is not enough signs around and also the STAFF see it but don’t say a thing PUT MORE SIGNS AROUND

This was a fantastic pub for drinking, with a bright and welcoming design! This is brought on from the large glass roof and windows area, as well as the lights next to the golden frames. Counter is neatly presented, seating is very comfortable and I had a classic Corona Extra!

Visited on a friday early evening. Found a space at the end of the bar to stand and put our drinks down. Bloke in a shirt and tie, presumably the manager, told me and my wife to move in a rude and abrupt manner. Turns out it was where the staff collect the app orders for table service. Fair enough, but totally unnecessary for him to be rude to customers. You needed to be there to get the full context, but it got the night off to a bad start. Then found a table outside and ordered a drink on the Spoons app. Drinks didn't arrive and was told that there were two tables with the same number! Apart from that staff behind the bar were very good, they were polite and efficient in a very busy environment and the atmosphere was good. It was extremely busy which was good to see. Bloke in the shirt and tie needs to learn from his staff how to talk to customers.

Excellent roof top for them sunnier days

It’s much like any other ‘ spoons. Generally decent food and drink at probably the lowest in the area.

The service is excellent. I really like the pretty girl behind the bar. She is so professional, helpful and considerate 🫶 Food could be better, but it's good enough.

Not been here for a good 10yrs, breakfast was the best had at spoons, ever. Not too busy at 0830hrs on a Saturday.

Only one Coors pump and that was hidden right at the top end of the bar

Your staff member Mr dan Bradbury Goes way beyond what he needs to under in his job capacity we have been coming to this establishment for many years and his customer service has got better and better nothing is too much trouble for this young man what a credit he's is to weatherspoons well done 5 stars

Great customer service,you generally get served quite quickly,just remember your table number if ordering at the bar, before ordering food.I always make this mistake.Ha ha.Food is always cooked to perfection and brought to your table swiftly.Wide range of beers and spirits, wines available at fair prices.Friendly staff and customers.Well worth a visit also a rooftop terrace with a lift for disabled people is available great in the nice weather.

Great to be back after 25 years! Very very busy at 6:45pm yesterday. Friends managed to get us a table. We used the app to get food and drinks. It was very humid initially but air con kicked in eventually. Great service overall. And came back for breakfast this morning. Cheers

Had wings chips and chicken strips, Guinness and wine for my partner. Was excellent service Manager was outstanding with his manner and service, I believe he was new not sure but went above and beyond, will definitely visit more regular as we are local.😋😋

Visited for breakfast, it was awful!! Plates were cold, so the food was cold, bacon appeared to have been cooked for hours and the mushrooms were tasteless and appear to have been cooked in water. One of the coffee machines didn't work. It needs to improve 💯

Stopped in at The Bishop Vesey on our way home from a weekend away. Needed sustenance before the journey home and so we decided upon a couple of traditional breakfasts too begin the day. The pub is named after John Vesey, a leading 16th-century bishop and Sutton Coldfield’s greatest benefactor. Apparently the bishop in all his theological glory decided in 1578 that the best way to honour him in centuries to come would be to have a pub named after him that knocks out food and drinks at astonishingly low prices. And so it came to pass that Wetherspoons stepped and did the job. And do the job they did. They laid a dreadfully patterned carpet, stuck lots of chairs and tables in the building, installed a long bar, a few booths and awful toilets. The food was actually quite nice, well cooked, hot and served quickly by the smiling server. We tore open a few sachets of HP, drenched the brekkie, devoured it and left happy and well fed. It's a 'Spoons, the food was affordable, decent and it was good enough.

Popped in for breakfast. I chose the pancakes with fruit. Order arrived within 10 minutes. Pancakes and fruit both fresh, could have done with a little more maple syrup but overall a generous breakfast for £5. Place itself looking worn and tired, tables sticky and damaged. Could do with some better lighting. Lovely old building with interesting staircase and windows, but in need of tlc.

Bar staff need to be less miserable and robotic.

Lovely roof top terrace. Ordered a small Pizza and it was perfect Fresh ingredients and better than I expected!

Can't beat Wetherspoons for value

Quite busy at lunch time but the two of us managed to find a table. Ordered food and drinks using the app. All delivered to the table in a very reasonable time considering how busy it was. Inside is clean, modern and pleasant. As Wetherspoon's go this is one of the nicer ones.

Very quick and pleasant service. Garden upstairs was open and refreshing. Food was hot, plentiful and tasty. Love using the app, wish there was a tip function.

Went Saturday ( 27/04/2024) with friends for lunch. Ordered and paid for our food. Whilst sat at the table the door man approached us and told us we had to leave. We asked why and he said he’d tell us when we step outside! Apparently the manger informed him that he has accurate footage of us using drugs in the toilet last Sunday! Firstly none of us have touched a drug in our lives and secondly none of us had stepped foot inside the premises last weekend. I have been to this pub on only 2 occasions - once an early week night and secondly yesterday. We asked to speak with the manager but was told ‘he’s too scared‘ to talk to us!! Asked to see the footage of this so called incident but was refused. Awful treatment of law abiding customers who just wanted a bite to eat. I don’t appreciate being accused of being a druggie and found the treatment both humiliating and embarrassing . I will be taking this further

My favourite wetherspoons in the West Midlands, and in my top 25 out of 422 visited. There's some very good ales here including: Jaipur and Citra. The staff know how to look after the beer and make sure that there's enough staff to avoid long waiting times. Last night I enjoyed the Simple Beef Madras with chips and a Hazy Jane for under £10. I regularly have breakfast here with family members or alone. Smart roof terrace that's ideal for topping up your tan.

Service great, atmosphere good for a Monday. Jacket potatoe with chilli was a very small portion. Ordered extra cheese, only received a sprinkle for £1.22. Left hungry.

Ok. Instead of making an insta dedicated to spoons I'm leaving reviews. Warm and cosy. This spoons is now why I rate on heat as it makes all the difference. It could have parking but it's on the high street so that's why not. could be open a bit later like the Sutton one but all around alright. I rate this average on the spoons scale.

Tried to pay for drinks with a bank of Scotland £20 and was told they only accepted 'British money' Last time I checked Scotland waa still part of Britain!!?!?? Discrimination????

Went for breakfast, food was delicious and very reasonable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Very relaxing atmosphere and were made to feel welcome even with 4 children in tow.

Great Guinness every time I've been in

Came in for a couple of relaxing drinks as my husband has not been very well, ordered two pints of strongbow and when they came over they were not full pints. I asked for them to be topped up and was told they serve them with 5% head as a cider drinker and a previous bar shift manager I know cider does not come with a head!!! I asked again for them to be topped up and the staff member topped them up. This happened twice. On the 3rd and final drink a different staff member refused to top up the drinks and was fairly rude how he spoke to me. So I asked to speak to the duty manager who came over and kept repeating it is how they are taught and all drinks should come with a 5% head. Even after this discussion she refused to top up my drinks. So people beware if you want a full pint of cider or even a larger with less head don’t come here as even the duty manager won’t help and is ill trained.

We come every Thursday or Friday the food is always good especially the fish a lovley lady wears black leggings and orange and black top always asking if the food is on such a lovely lady thankyou all x

One of my favourite pubs to go to in Sutton the food is always nice and you get plenty of chips🍟 here to far more than what you get in some of the other wetherspoons pubs 🍻🍺 (best things on the menu by far including the Paninis 🥖🥪🌯) Fast service didn't have to wait long at all for the food 🍽️ we come quite regularly all year round, i enjoy coming with my mom and dad

This was an adult meal, I brought three meals and I have to say service at bar was great and fast. I had to upstairs as it was busy. Table was dirty and full of plates and glasses. Had to wait to get it clean. But the meals were let down as other plate had few chips . I enjoy going here. Staff are nice and good place to go with friends. Sadly food let it down. I will say their breakfast is better

Hardly anyone in here at 11 am on a Friday. Bar staff more interested in having a chat than serving customers. Think Wetherspoons is struggling, at one time you wouldn't have been able to get a seat in here around lunchtime

I've been coming here for years and every time I absolutely love it, great for a night out with friends and great for a family get together, cheap drinks and food with absolutely lovely staff, not got one bad word to say about it.

Very poor service apart from 1 member of staff who was not constantly checking their phone. Very dirty tables and lots of staff including the floor manager hanging around chatting. Whole of downstairs needs a refurb.

Have eaten here in the past and always had a good experience. The service is as prompt as can be, it can get very busy. In saying that, the staff are always friendly. Atmosphere is good, I have had a few beers here many times and never had any issues. I do try to avoid big footy nights though. Beer is very good, good selection and competativly priced.

Always a great experience at this pub. Nice to visit a pub where high standards of behaviour are expected from customers . Always feel safe as pub is ran very well. Special mention to Siobhan who always looks after us as regulars and provides a great environment ! 5 stars

Decided to go to Weatherspoons with friends after not being there for years. Food was a bit bland, but there is salt and pepper and table sauces you can add which definitely helps😅Nice outside space if you smoke and want to sit there instead. Ordered food and drinks through the app, came really quickly for all of us, atmosphere was nice and busy and yet the staff were friendly and attentive. Would recommend! Price points for drinks both alcoholic and non alcoholic reasonable and I'd say the same for the food.
