Well, it was our final visit to the Lakeside Cabin last week. What a wonderful hidden gem this cafe is, and it is going to be very much missed by so many, now that it has closed its doors. The food exquisite, so tastefully presented, especially all those gorgeous cakes, mouth watering! The location and setting, along with the amazing family who ran it made it a very happy place to be. Thank you ‘A’ team, for making our trips an unforgettable and enjoyable experience. So sad that you have gone, but we wish you all the best in your new venture. We will DEFINITELY come and find you at Pydar Mews in Truro.

We have been coming to this establishment for several years on our holidays and have been greatly let down this year. Our food was lovely, but due to a server error when taking our order some of our food was missing. The staff weren’t very receptive when we tried to figure out what had gone wrong, but shortly discovered that the waitress has taken our order incorrectly. This led to us being over charged for a cream tea for one but it didn’t include the tea. We didn’t feel very welcomed. We always have to sit outside because we have a dog, which we completely understand, but there were minimal tables available and it looked run down. As a family we feel it has lost its spark.

This is a gem of a find. We were staying in our caravan and had Sunday lunch here. The owners have created a quirky ambience. The food itself was outstanding, large meat portions, huge Yorkshire puds and amazing roast potatoes. All home cooked. Vegetables were perfectly cooked and a good selection. We could not manage a pud but the ones we saw looked amazing. Meal with 2 drinks each (2 wines and 2 soft drinks) £50.

We were in the village and chose Weaver's Cottage as a place to rest our feet and enjoy a cream tea. Seating was outside under a large shade. Service was quick and friendly. The clotted cream was the "real deal" and the raspberry jam was fresh made by the owner. Delicious! Perfect place for a respite!

We travel over a 100 miles to visit, of course our family but also to eat at the New Inn. It is a treat. The variety of choice of menu. The exceptional quality of cooking and wine. The perfect setting and welcoming frendly service. Cannot wait until we visit again. Dawn H

Came here for their well known huge cream teas!. The scones are home made and are huge! the pot of cream and jam is massive too. One of their cream teas would easily do 2 people. The only thing that lets this place down is one of the waitresses, older lady and quite miserable looking. Quite grumpy never smiles and seems to not want to be there. A smile goes a long long way, nonetheless forget this and have the cream tea, its is legendary and very reasonable too. The Latte is the best I have tasted, even better than Costa! Lunches are lovely too. Tiny little cafe but a lovely location.
