A lovely little tea room in the heart of Porlock . Very quaint with lovely food . We loved the homemade soup & the tea service. The proprietor makes everything on site & it's so English an absolute delight. In our opinion they do need a helping hand on busy times as we did wait quite a long time for service. A little background music would be nice as with many tables close together we felt we had to whisper. We really like it here although sadly it was way too expensive for us to return 😭

What a find!! Can not recommend this Tea Room highly enough. We’ve had lots of cream teas over the years, but Bramdowns is the best ever. The homemade scones were amazing. The service was first class and so friendly. The decor and the crockery are lovely, also with the music in the background you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. Thoroughly enjoyed it, so much more than just a cream tea. Long May you continue, Ladies. Next time we’re passing by Porlock, Bramdowns, is a definite stop off.

Ordered the ham ploughman's for myself and partner, food arrived quickly and good size portions. Everything was fresh and nicely presented and with a decent pot of tea too. Staff were very polite and friendly. There was plenty to choose from on the menu from cakes, sandwiches to light lunches. All reasonably priced too. Would highly recommend.

Great place to stop on the coastal road from Porlock to Lynmouth. Large parking area with amazing views over Exmoor so you don't have to be a rambler to visit! Super friendly, super dog friendly, super warm in a cold day with a log burner roaring away. For the hardy or a warm day there is a welcoming grassed area outside with tables and views. Excellent range of food and drinks a a great place for snacks or a light lunch. I can recommend the bacon - thick cut and not too salty - in a generous toasted sandwich along with cheddar and a hint of mustard. Delish! Exmoor Coastal bus stops here when running in Spring to Autumn.

I wasn’t sure what to expect, I booked this over Christmas just so I complete a couple of sections of the SWCP. To be honest I just wanted a base, I hadn’t planned in being in much. But I’ve just booked a second night in the restaurant because the food is soooo lush! The atmosphere is lovely and the staff are so helpful. Lovely little pub which is clearly popular with the locals so I’d suggest you book a table during peak season

We visited The Castle for a family funeral. The staff were incredibly attentive and couldn't do enough for us. A special mention to Rose, who did a superb job running the bar and serving food. The pub has a good atmosphere and would be good for a casual meal or a quick pint.

The breading of the fish and ships was really not good (only greasy and without any consistency), normal pea puree/fries. No lemon. The sauces were individually packaged, the tartar sauce tasted absolutely not like tartar sauce. Very little choice in beers (all the kegs were empty and apparently nothing in stock), I had to take a bottled beer which tasted nothing good. Bar door open, it was really cold to eat. The staff was very nice despite everything, too bad!
