I dropped into this venue twice over the couple of days I visited Porlock Weir, and both times I was treated to very fine food and drink. Efficient service adds to the interesting offering of this cafe restaurant, for it also has a very fine if small art gallery and shop. The ceramics were particularly fine, and there were a couple of larger pots that I would have loved to buy if I had £500/£600 pounds to spend. Expensive, but worth it. I only had light bites whilst here, but they were really very good, and it maybe a small eatery, but one with interesting paintings etc on display. An excellent place to merely look in and browse, and even better if combined with food and drink

Stopped at this lovely cafe for lunch whilst cycling with friends. Great food and view into the Bristol Channel. One friend described his tuna & cheese melt as the best he’d had since a trip to Portugal in 2016 - very hard to disagree on the quality of the food. Would also recommend the Cannolis!

Lovely little cafe on the harbour with very polite staff! We sat on a bench right by the boats and ordered some cool drinks, which all came with a glass (with ice) and were refreshing. The small gallery and pottery shop was dainty but beautiful! I was definitely eyeing up a floral jug but I forgot to go back for it! Hope to come back soon!!!

You need to search for this cafe, but to succeed is more than worthwhile. We had a seafood platter costing £29 for two. There was Porlock oysters (delicious), three kinds of smoked fish, scampi and brown crab meat with salad and a fresh roll. No alcohol but at that price, who cares. There was also local ginger beer. To finish there was scones and clotted cream with raspberry jelly and a nice pot of English tea.

We spend a lot of time walking around the Porlock area and there’s nothing better than a coffee and cake in the afternoon. We have visited this cafe on three separate occasions in the last couple of months - we keep trying! The coffee and cake is great but the service is unfriendly and arrogant. You can put it down to ‘having a bad day’ but three times?? Yes they are super busy but you’d think they’d be happy with the business. We were made to feel unwelcome and awkward. Three times but no more!

After driving 40 minutes to eat the oysters I had enjoyed earlier in the week this time for a birthday celebration. They said they were out of stock even though there supplier who is next door had a full stock. When I asked if they were able to get more as i has driven all the way they just dismissed me in a rude unprofessional manor and said they hadn’t sold out they don’t have time to do them for me - I was in no rush at all or expecting any time frame!!!!!! . We were advised on our last trip to arrive at 12:30 for guaranteed oysters which we did. Horrible treatment birthday lunch ruined. Totally inconsiderate - you may enjoy a great lunch or you may not, clearly depending on the staff and what they fancy doing.

This is a little gem of a place, surpassed only by the idyllic location. Second time we've called in and top marks again for the friendly service and excellent food. Stopped for lunch, while entertaining family the first time we visited and everyone was really impressed with the quality and the value for money. Last week just the two of us along with our trio of hounds called in after the walk to Culborne church, went for the cheese platter which more than recharged the battery's. Refreshing to find a local business that obviously bothers about repeat custom, well done all involved.

Sorry to comment but felt I had to. We waited forty minutes for our meals today. Ordered a fish platter which was average tasting. My sandwiches the salmon and cream cheese filling was ok otherwise I would of complained. the white bread was dry, the crisps were ALL crumbs!!. I did not attempt to eat these as I was afraid of choking which an elderly person could have. The salad garnish said what it was garnish so altogether I ate a bit of tomato that was NOT WHITE and the sandwiches because I had finished work and was hungry even though the bread was dry. My coffee was cold by the time the meals arrived even though it was a warm sunny day. I think I felt sorry for them as they were busy.

For such a small cafe this one has an excellent range of sandwiches. The owner of the tea rooms at Bossington has removed smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwiches from her menu due to smoked salmon not being cost-effective. She claims that they are not available elsewhere locally for the same reason. Well they are on the menu here along with a much larger selection of fillings than at Bossington so I would recommend coming here for more choice. Having been ill after a lunch of goats cheese and horribly dry crumpets at Bossington (no I'm not allergic to goats cheese as the owner suggested - we drink goats milk at home and eat goats cheese; why would I choose something I'm allergic to?) we looked around and found Harbour Gallery and Cafe. It has interesting artwork to see and a very pleasant seating area in a lovely location. The owner at Bossington claims my review was dishonest when I said we had 'service' but that's all. She says the staff chatted with us about the tree that is now a carved rabbit, but no such conversation ever took place; we were asked if we were ready to order and that was it. Here, however, the lady was very friendly even though she was very busy. So it's really a no-brainier where we go for lunch from now on. There are other cafes in the area but this is one of the best.

We chose the Harbour Cafe as it had the most interesting menu ( and reasonably priced) . It was secluded and not so busy. Unfortunately no one seemed to tske our order, nor was there anywhere obvious to place one ( maybe sign is needed ?)The food then took ages and ages to arrive, at least 30 minutes. Though once I tasted the fish platter it was well worth the wait. Absolutely beautifully prepared and filled a huge gap too. My partner said his cup of tea was good too.I was then put back in the disappointment camp as I queued for ages waiting to pay while the proprietor chatted to another client about who owns what buildings, how, when and why. The trip was also partly spoilt by the dogs from a neighbouring shop launching themselves at my placid lab.

Popped in for brunch whilst staying nearby for our wedding anniversary. Had a delicious toasted sandwich and a great coffee (and I drink a lot of coffee!) Lots of art and ceramics on display and on sale. The cake looked amazing but we didn't have time to sample unfortunately. The staff were lovely.

Had stopped at Porlock Weir on the way to Lynton for a cup of tea and something to eat and came across The Harbour Café, some people were sitting outside eating sandwich's and having milkshakes. We went inside for the menu and then saw that lovely beetroot cake I have to admit it was so good I went back 2 days later for some more. All the food is cooked fresh from local supplies the sausage and bacon sandwich's are to die for will be going back next year.

Small quayside cafe which serves some of the best home-made cake we've had. Beautiful beetroot and vanilla cake. Fantastic taste and great texture which just oozed onto the fork. Good place to end the walk back from Culbone Church - you'll deserve the treat!

We came here today for some food having looked at the menu online. What a find; small, intimate, friendly and quality. The food was lovely, freshly made with no rush to make you finish, pay and leave.I had the chowder which was just what was called for on a classic British summers mizzly day.Good value for money and worth going to if your in this part of the world, this is one of the best in the area.

Excellent coffee and really good food at this little cafe. After an initial first visit for coffee, I returned 2 days later for lunch. Great snacks on the menu which were well cooked. After a very disappointing tea at the Periwinkle Tearooms in Selworthy which I have visited on many occasions, it was good to have good food and a lovely setting....and the best cheesy crumpets ever!

Pollock weir is a sweet little coastal village on the north coast of Somerset, which is worth a visit in its own right. There are several places to eat and, on a pleasant sunny day, all seemed to be doing a roaring trade with good opportunities to eat outside in the fresh air and with nice view of the harbour.Having had an excellent coffee at their sister cafe in Porlock and hour or so before, we opted for the Harbour gallery and cafe and were not disappointed. The service was friendly and attentive and the food delicious. Sadly, they had run out of the sea food chowder I originally opted for but the sea food platter was an excellent substitute and I really enjoyed the wonderfully tasty selection of local fish and salad. I couldn't have wished for a better meal had I gone to Rick Stein's place in mPadstow, where I would probably have paid three times as much. My wife had a very tasty home made vegetable soup and we both left feeling very happily full. Then on to Greencombe garden, which is only half a lie or so back up the lane towards Porlock and well worth a visit if you are into gardens.

We called in for lunch and it was delicious. Everything was fresh and very tasty. Something a bit different from the usual pub grub and at a very reasonable price.

We had lunch here on what I suspect was the first really busy day of the season. The cafe is absolutely tiny inside with seating for a handful of people but there is plenty of space outside and it's in a nice location. To be honest they were probably right on the verge of not being able to cope with the number of customers they had, but although there was a bit of a delay both ordering and eating, the food was absolutely lovely and the staff were very friendly.

Stopped here for a very relaxed lunch. Overlooking the weir and little cottages. Had the best, freshest prawns with a lemon mayo for a very reasonable £6.50. Very good coffee and somerset apple cake. Brought a handmade pottery bowl from the gallery. Very friendly service - got a bowl of lemon water for mucky fingers from peeling prawns. Much more friendly and tasty that large pubs near the car park.

A very good dog friendly pub with rooms. Rooms clean, food brilliant, friendly staff and dogs allowed everywhere. Only thing that could be improved is the guest entrance to the hotel, very tired and need of updating. Otherwise a brilliant stay!

Great welcome from the hosts, who gave great advice on things to do and see in the area. We had a lovely 1 night stay at the Notley Arms. Lovely clean and comfy room. Great evening meal and breakfast in the pub which had a great atmosphere. We would stay here again.
