This is the Cafe that used to be 'Mortimers' so was keen to see if the slow service had improved......it has! Attentive staff and plain but very good food served quickly and in a friendly different atmosphere. Well done! New Owners ! We will, and already have, been back !

Simply lovely, unpretentious, well cooked breakfast, tea served properly (in a pot with extra hot water), relaxed and friendly service all at a very reasonable price. Love this place.

My wife and I took our son and his wife and three children here today. We had been telling them how good it is there and to expect great food and service. We were very disappointed. Maybe it was busy being Saturday lunchtime but the staff were rather cold and detached. The food was not up to their usual high standards. The presentation was very average, the portions were rather small and the quality was very poor.

This is not a review of the ice cream parlour which was closed (probably due to Covid-19). The same people run a trio of cottages to let, Oak, Ash and Sycamore. I stayed in Oak with my family bubble and we had a lovely time. Great facilities and close to some fantastic Exmoor walks, so lovely to go somewhere different after lockdown that was safe. Very clean and well looked after, nice wood-burner for those chilly April evenings. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen well stocked with fridge, freezer, dishwasher, cooker, etc. all you could wish for.

This is now called Exmoor fish and chips. Very clean and well run, girls wearing hairnets. Very quick service. The Boss had small cod, cooked fresh which she pronounced excellent. I had pie also very good. Shed load of really good chips. All in all a good chippie. I recommend them.

Lovely little pub with lots of southern charm. The two ladies working there were really friendly, funny and great with our toddler! The food was lovely - it was great to see a dedicated vegetarian and vegan board. One thing to note is that they don't do kids meals - although we managed to feed our toddler with a starter and by sharing our food. Would highly recommend!

The host was incredibly kind and hospitable, and the hotel itself was stunning. The breakfast was delicious, clearly made with high-quality ingredients and great care. The bed was comfortable, and overall, it was excellent value for the price.

We visited the pub as we were staying on the campsite close by. The Land Lord was friendly enough but the place looks like it has seen better days, plants on the window cills with cobwebs on and lots of plastic flowers! This place could do with a good spring clean inside and out particularly the ladies toilet which was black around the edges. We didn’t eat here, there were people eating but for a weekend it was empty, such a shame!
