We stayed in the nearby camping site in our motorhome and whenever we can like to eat locally. This place is so close that you can enjoy a few pints of their lovely Guinness and local ales leaving the wheels behind There is a menu on their website and specials on the board by the bar The bar maid is very friendly and gave my wife a taste of the local ale to try before plunging for a pint she might not like We both ordered the steak and ale pie and wow it was HUGE and so tasty Very dog friendly pump Recommended that you book a table as it can get very busy Tony,Shelley and Holly the mutt

For the past decade, we’ve made it a tradition to visit the same pub every August bank holiday while camping across the road. Despite the somewhat shabby interior, this hidden gem offers delicious homecooked food and a variety of local ales. The landlord, initially gruff, reveals a friendly side once you engage in conversation. Although he suffered a serious accident a few years back, he continues to persevere, so please be patient as he’s not as swift as he used to be.

To enjoy this pub you need to phone ahead and book a table. The pub has a very welcoming atmosphere and good food. The only down side was that due to the slow startup following C-19 there was only one excellent ale on offer

We have been coming to the campsite in Bridgetown for about 10 years and always spend a few evenings at the Badgers Holt over the road. Dogs are allowed in the tiled bar area where you can get a reasonably priced and tasty meal (The eggs are from their own chickens! and the beers and ciders are well kept, Keith the landlord hates seeing me come through the door as I drink him out of his secret supply of the vintage thatchers!) He has a very dry sense of humour and we love him. The veg selection is fresh, the specials are good and their Sunday lunch is excellent. The quiz placemats are great fun and we'd miss them if they stopped using them. The monthly Sunday Quiz night is a must and this year we discovered their monthly "music night". Hubby said he would NOT be going but a bit of gentle persuasion and arm twisting meant he was still there at 9pm when a neighbour comes in with a guitar, a pile of percussion instruments and a huge pile of song sheets! Hubby groans, the sheets were passed around, the landlady breaks out her ukulele, the lead musician finds out we are welsh so we start by all belting out Delilah and hubby was hooked. We wobbled back to the caravan, hoarse and happy, at about 11.30pm; it was one of the most fun nights out we have had in a long time! There is a seating area outside with picnic benches that catches the evening sun and it looks out over the road to the cricket field, the woods and the hill behind the village. This is a special little pub, an essential part of our holiday!

The Badgers Holt, is a country pub serving an excellent choice of well presented home cooked meals, with good local ales to wash them down.Having stayed locally for most of the summer of 2013, this pub was where we had our evening meals. The generous portions can defeat the most ardent of diners, so arrive with a good appetite! The novelty of dining at the Badgers Holt, is that each place setting has a table mat, that has general knowledge quiz questions printed on it and a pen is provided for you to answer, if you wish to. I think we have completed most of them! With a good selection of beers, wines & whiskies to choose from, it makes a visit to this pub a real pleasure. We've just had a long weekend in Bridgetown and 3 evenings in the 'Badgers' rounded off each day perfectly. We'll be back there again soon!

We managed to get into the Bottom ship on Friday 14th December, we were glad to have our annual winter visit as the weir was having issues with electric and a new generator had been put in that morning. The foid we has was excellent the beer as normal presented well and the warmth from the establishment is always heart warming, thank you to the staff to the lovely lady who's name we didn't catch and louis who has been an asset to the pub for our visits for the last 4 years, long may you continue to honour the traditions of Exmoor

This is now called Exmoor fish and chips. Very clean and well run, girls wearing hairnets. Very quick service. The Boss had small cod, cooked fresh which she pronounced excellent. I had pie also very good. Shed load of really good chips. All in all a good chippie. I recommend them.
