Outstanding independent coffee/doughnut/hog roast takeaway. Welcoming people (thanks Joey & Bailey!) who were friendly and happy to chat. Coffee was delicious (freshly brewed filter), and the hog roast roll was the best I’ve had - complete with crackling. Don’t get me started on the doughnuts.

We visited for Sunday lunch and the whole experience was excellent! The food was beautiful and just how you’d want your roast. Crispy potatoes, delicious rare beef, gorgeous crackling, succulent pork, awesome cheesy leeks, tender lamb, super tasty gravy (and lots of it)…the list goes on! Desserts were really impressive too-the sticky toffee pudding was immense, as was the gluten-free syrup sponge, although top billing went to the chocolate brownies as voted for by our three young boys. Top notch service from everyone and a really warm welcome-a brilliant lunch!

I attended a workshop in Beaminster and at lunch time and although we were given many options for food outlets, me and 2 other participants decided on the Trading Post and I am so pleased we did. All 3 of us had soup and it possibly was the most delicious soup I have ever had the pleasure to taste. I would go back to Beaminster just to go to this cafe. It was an absolute joy from start to finish, the service, the food and the venue were all delightful. Thank you Trading post I will be back x

Great new owners, NOTE telephone number on trip advisor is for the old owner so please don’t call it.. Shop is based conveniently in the car park with easy access. Serving hot and cold snacks drinks and must have beach essentials. Enjoy a stroll down to the town or a stroll to the beach, great location for exploring the local area.

Having found ourselves lucky enough to be back in Beaminster for a week, we knew our first stop had to be Dexters. We were welcomed back like old friends and as usual the food did not disappoint. So much so that we enjoyed 2 breakfasts, 1 lunch and 2 evening meals! Not sure I can pick a highlight but if forced it would have to be the fillet steak on our last night. Cooked to perfection and so flavoursome. If you are in the area and looking for somewhere to eat then I can’t recommend this place highly enough. Fab home cooked food at a very reasonable price with second to none service. Debbie, Paul, Kim and all the team - don’t stop what you are doing as you stand out in a very crowded market. We will be back and that’s a promise 😉 If for no other reason than we still need to try the very popular Sunday carvery.

Went to Hillside for afternoon tea with my two sisters. Absolutely delightful experience. Sat outside in the sunshine, peaceful, quiet with hostess Sue who was just lovely. All the food was delicious and homemade with refills on tea and coffee. Can't recommend Sue highly enough and will be going back again.

Well, what a lovely place! Recommended by a pal. Went for coffee and cake. This place is unique like going into yourGran’s front room. So cosy, friendly. Hand written bigmenu. Our cake was amazing, the waitress was lovely, friendly with humour. Wish that we lived closer. Great value. Many thanks

We have visited the Abbey House a few years ago and drive especially with a detour to revisit. Since my wife uses a wheelchair I asked to be seated on the lawns just a few steps from the terrace to make an accessible place available (we had been seated there during our prvfious visit). The waiter answered: we only put tables there duiding a wedding. So no other option for us then just leave the place since which is NOT accesible for a wheelchair. We were very disappionted and felt unwelcomed.

We dined at their pop up in Lyme Regis on a Saturday night. Delightful take on tapas using fish and no meat. We really enjoyed all the dishes with the mackerel being the highlight for us. Looking forward to the next visit. Staff were all very personable and helpful without being intrusive, a fine balance to walk and they managed it well.

Nestled among the kiosks, restaurants and pubs this little gem is a must for ice cream lovers. Selling some of the nicest ice cream I have had - Marshfield Farm. I opted for a waffle cone with 2 scoops, mint choc chip and honeycomb. I even shared it with my husband who loves mint choc chip! Well worth a visit, just be wary of the seagulls!

Great service, delicious food and an intimate dining experience. This is what eating out should be. Well worth a visit. Excellent customer focus and a lovely atmosphere. We have made this our yearly Christmas meal venue and it never disappoints. I cannot wait for our Christmas visit this year!!!
