Well, what a lovely place! Recommended by a pal. Went for coffee and cake. This place is unique like going into yourGran’s front room. So cosy, friendly. Hand written bigmenu. Our cake was amazing, the waitress was lovely, friendly with humour. Wish that we lived closer. Great value. Many thanks

We booked an afternoon tea at Maria’s Pantry for our Mothers 94th Birthday.. we can not express how brilliant it was. The reception we got was so nice. Then the amazing afternoon tea arrived.. It was so well presented.. and they sang Happy Birthday to Mother.. she was over the moon. The food was delicious which it always is but this went above and beyond. The whole experience was out of this world. It made Mothers and our day. We can’t praise the staff enough.. A very big ‘THANK YOU’ to everyone. We’ll definitely be coming again. XX

We visited today for the first time with our parents that go often. Beautiful Sunday lunch with lots of fresh veg. Followed by home made bread and butter pudding and coffee. Lovely atmosphere and really lovely home made food. A real treat. Pretty setting, good parking and a little gift shop too. I would suggest booking in advance to avoid being disappointed.

Absolutely superb place for a breakfast. Super friendly and dog friendly, even catered for vociferous vegans on the next table with good humour 😄

Turned up for brunch on fathers day they were booked up but provided excellent snacks... bacon butty and crumpets and cakes. Sat outside to sound of water wheel from Mill. Friendly service and lovely surroundings. Only drawback was toilets not accessible for disabled.

Visited for the first time today. £15.75 for main and a pudding. Incredible value and delicious food! Would definitely recommend. Little hidden gem nusseled in the countryside.

What a find. Was aware of this tea room last year but didn’t try it, I think the uninspiring signage on the main road put us off. You must go there the food there is fabulous. Yesterday we had coffees and Dorset apple cake, today our penultimate day here we had roast beef with trimmings I think tomorrow the diet begins. Will definitely return next year.

Our first visit to this lovely cafe while staying in Bridport. We we completely taken back by its extensive menu, especially for a small place and a pleasure to see meals with vegetables instead of the usual mundane everything with chips meals favoured by so many cafes. I had the roast beef and all the trimmings, excellently cooked and piping hot.My partner had the beef cottage pie with vegetables, again piping hot and very tasty. I indulged in a wonderful slice of treacle tart and a jug of piping hot custard while my partner enjoyed the rhubarb crumble and custard. We were served by Penny who is a lovely lady, very friendly with all the customers. We cannot praise the food enough and if we lived local would be regular diners. We go back to Hampshire on Monday but if we are back in Bridport we will return to Maria’s Pantry.

We called ahead for a family lunch, and mentioned we were four vegans. The staff at Maria's Pantry prepared an INCREDIBLE menu especially for us which included about 6 mains and 3 delicious deserts. This is astounding in an area where it can be slightly tricky to eat out as a vegan at times, and for this we were truly thankful. The food was phenomenal, the service was great and the place itself was cosy and welcoming. It was an added bonus that dogs were allowed in the cafe! Cannot recommend this place enough. We will definitely be visiting again!! (If you are vegan and wanting to visit, be sure to call ahead and let them know your dietary requirements)

We love the setting of this tea room and always have. Sadly, it seems standards and quality have dipped with the relatively new management. Slow service and definitely not the same good cakes and scones of the past. The cream and jam portions with cream tea are much reduced. Will still visit because of the setting but maybe just for a cuppa.

Thanks to COVID and staff shortages, the service was slow. It is an idyllic spot and the staff made every effort to serve everyone as quickly as possible. The drinks arrived promptly and there was a wait for our food. It is an idyllic spot and when the meals arrived they were excellent. I am told the daily roasts are very good. Do not come here if you are in a hurry, but be patient and you will be well rewarded. We really enjoyed our lunch

Good home cooking, good prices, lovely place! Marias Cottage Pie is fabulous! Lovely place to sit in the sun with the water and a stroll around the beautiful lake afterwards 😍

Have not been here for a long time, many happy memories of climbing around in the old mill (not allowed any more pesky H&S rules). Stopped in while taking mother out for a trip in the last of the summer sun. One the best Cream Tea's I have had in a long time, the scone was light and fluffy unlike some you get. Can highly recommend

We have visited the Abbey House a few years ago and drive especially with a detour to revisit. Since my wife uses a wheelchair I asked to be seated on the lawns just a few steps from the terrace to make an accessible place available (we had been seated there during our prvfious visit). The waiter answered: we only put tables there duiding a wedding. So no other option for us then just leave the place since which is NOT accesible for a wheelchair. We were very disappionted and felt unwelcomed.

I attended a workshop in Beaminster and at lunch time and although we were given many options for food outlets, me and 2 other participants decided on the Trading Post and I am so pleased we did. All 3 of us had soup and it possibly was the most delicious soup I have ever had the pleasure to taste. I would go back to Beaminster just to go to this cafe. It was an absolute joy from start to finish, the service, the food and the venue were all delightful. Thank you Trading post I will be back x

Great service, delicious food and an intimate dining experience. This is what eating out should be. Well worth a visit. Excellent customer focus and a lovely atmosphere. We have made this our yearly Christmas meal venue and it never disappoints. I cannot wait for our Christmas visit this year!!!
