Afternoon Teas at Hillside in West Dorset

Went to Hillside for afternoon tea with my two sisters. Absolutely delightful experience. Sat outside in the sunshine, peaceful, quiet with hostess Sue who was just lovely. All the food was delicious and homemade with refills on tea and coffee. Can't recommend Sue highly enough and will be going back again.

We had a lovely afternoon tea in the garden at Hillside on Tuesday 27th August. Our hostess was friendly and welcoming and provided a selection of sandwiches, fruit scones and cream, and a selection of cakes. It was hard to choose what to have first, coffe and walnut cake, Victoria sandwich, red velvet or chocolate fudge cake. We chose to stick with the usual tea but could have had other teas or coffee. My sister and I were given afternoon tea at Hillside as a birthday gift. It was beautifully presented, with delicious sandwiches, cheese straws, scones, jam and cream and a selection of cakes. All homemade by our hostess, Sue. We were welcomed into her lovely home where our tea awaited us in very pleasant surroundings overlooking the garden. We spent a relaxing, unhurried afternoon here.

Wonderful! I booked afternoon tea here for my 50th birthday with my friends. The choice is great and every need is catered for. The sandwiches, sausage rolls, scones and cakes were home made and absolutely delicious. The table was set up beautifully and you even have cloth napkins. We will certainly be back! Afternoon tea at Hillside with my sister was a lovely experience. The food was amazing , Sue was able to cater for my dietary requirements, everything was done to a high standard. Would highly recommend.

Wonderful spread layed on, Sandwiches , cheese scones, sausage rolls , scone's with cream and jam. To top it all a selection of cakes to suit all tastes. Refills of Tea and milk, as much as we wanted. Lovely afternoon, lots of chat and happy memories to take home with us. Again do pay Hillside a visit, There is something special in Sue's warm welcome ond the ample food to enjoy

A wonderful afternoon tea with some friends yesterday. The sandwiches and cakes were excellent and the scones were truly superb! A warm and comfortable room with a pretty table and china. Sue made us welcome and we thoroughly enjoyed an afternoon of chat and delicious food. We are already planning a return trip!

Excellent food, all freshly homemade, lovely mixture of savoury and sweet, sausage rolls and lemon cake definite highlights. Lovely log burner going. A lovely intimate place to catch up with friends or family

We visited Sue for afternoon Tea at Hllside .The whole experience was lovely .Sue is very accomadating and you can tell she wants to go above and behind to make it a lovely experience .The dining room is very quaint and the table I laid beautifully. It's lovely to have proper China for a afternoon tea .The food was all homemade ,fresh and appetising. The atmosphere was pleasant with a log burning fire and soft music playing in the background .Sue kept checking on us to see if anything else was needed in the way of top ups.Overall I would highly recommend Afternoon tea at Hillside if you want something extra special x

We visited Hillside this afternoon, what a lovely experience. Sue was so warm and welcoming, as was her lovely home. The food & drinks were superb, especially Sue's homemade scones. 10/10 and we will definitely return. For anyone thinking of booking, do so, you will not be disappointed.

A lovely, tasty, Festive Afternoon Tea enjoyed at this unique venue with friends. The delicious food, homemade by the very friendly Sue was matched with the ambience of her lovely home. It is certainly a treat to be savoured on any occasion. A lovely lead up to Christmas. Definitely recommended. Already looking forward to our next visit.

We had the festive cream teas for 8 of us for a get together before Christmas it was lovely Sue our host was excellent she has a beautiful home and what was nice was we were there by ourselves enjoying a lovely afternoon tea like we were at home just all chatting and having a good time I highly recommend it’s such a lovely setting.

A lovely cosy tea room with open fire. Small personal service and very tasty treats. We found the scones to be the best we had ever had.

My mum and I had a wonderful Savoury Afternoon tea at hillside. Cheese straws and sausage rolls were amazing. Lovely friendly welcome from Sue and will be trying the sweet afternoon tea next time.

Very happy with prompt delivery, my dad is over the moon with his surprise goodies and will thoroughly enjoy it, I will order more coming future. It’s such a shame that I couldn’t enjoy this lovely box as I am based half an hour away.

My grandparents celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on the 19th of October and we had been looking for a company to deliver an afternoon tea for us as a surprise as we are not local and felt this occasion needed some celebration after having a look online I stumbled across afternoon teas that Hillside and made contact with Sue who was more than happy to help us out after putting my mum in touch with Sue everything was arranged and a lovely afternoon tea was delivered to my grandparents to enjoy as a surprise treat thank you very much Sue 😊

My wife and I had a lovely afternoon tea at Hillside. We were made very welcome and even offered to pick us up from the station if it was raining. The tea was delicious, all home made. The Victoria sponge was exceptional , the freshly baked scones and sandwiches were delicious.

Another delightful visit for Afternoon tea. We took a friend with us who had not been there before. Lovely welcome from Sue the owner, This time tea was serverd indoors, Wonderful spread greeted us on entering the dining room. The Ladies had the cream tea, which included a range of sandwiches, scones, with cream and jam, and cakes which filled the top tier of the cake stand. I again choose the savoury tea. With ample tea to quech our thirst. So much food, in the end cakes uneaten boxed, and brought home. Go and enjoyed, just as we did. Future visit planed, Christmas tea beckons.

The perfect treat for someone special. Welcoming host, lovely cottage setting , delicious food served on beautiful china accompanied by generous pots of tea. Well worth a visit.
