The best restaurants serving British food in Tewkesbury South West

The family love a Sunday roast and I am on the constant search for new options to try and see if they are better than the ones we have. We chose the large but honestly you don't need more than the standard sized plate. Meat selections are good, well cooked and served plus crackling available is always a good sign. Vegetable options were good and roast potato's are proper roasted not anemic ones we have had elsewhere so all good. We travelled around 50mins to try this out and while it's good on balance the options locally are as good but if you are in the area give it a go. Service wise slightly slow on drinks and the bill I think due to not enough staff and we had a table near the kitchen and its obvious the chef is into his rock music so ensure you have a table elsewhere in the pub if you don't want a musical accompaniment to the meal.

Last night was my second visit to the Lock keepers. We were greeted by a young man who was very polite and friendly, offered us a choice of seats despite it being obviously very busy. There was no delay in taking drinks or food orders. We only ordered chips but they came very quickly and were delivered by the chef, who again was very polite and friendly. They do a fantastic burger and a pint meal for £15 on Tuesday and Wednesdays all day and evening and these look amazing!!!! I will definitely be going back for one of those! I'm not sure the evening al carte menu of for me personally but with the burger meal then it is a perfect range. Fantastic staff, stunning atmosphere with all the lovely lights and candles, would 100% recommend, it's a real hidden gem.

Lovely quick bite to eat! Simple and fulfilling, tasty burger and rosemary fries and a pint of Guinness for under £11 can't beat that 💪

Ran here from Stroud town centre. Lovely destination after canal and fields - well earned stop for tea and cake. Nice, friendly and efficient service. Cheers.

We found the Cheeserollers pub when I was looking through local places for an evening quiz after our regular one ceased. What can I say Fabulous friendly nights out with lots of team spirit. Shaun is a very sociable and friendly host both on team nights and in general. As a couple we’ve eaten solo from our team and we’ve also eaten as a group. We all thoroughly enjoyed our food and as I’m a rather fussy vegetarian I’m well catered for with a varied menu. Thank you Shaun for the fun times and Mary for the great food. Vine aquí para una comida de almuerzo en San Valentín y fue absolutamente impresionado por cada aspecto de este restaurante. se sentía como entrar en casa de alguien (en una manera peculiar encantadora) el ambiente era encantador, la comida era un lugar, cada plato lleno de sabor, a un precio muy razonable incluyendo la carta de vinos. El servicio fue excelente, nos atendieron por una joven con tatuajes que escuchamos que era la hija / segundo propietario, muy bien informado, nos explicó el menú en detalle y nos ayudó a elegir qué menú degustación elegir. Yo mismo soy propietario de una hospitalidad y este lugar está haciendo todo bien. Volveremos.

Not surprised this place shut down, it's been going down hill for months, waiting ages for food, short staff, can't order after 7, poor management , rubbish, shame as kids used to like it.

We came here for a family meal us from wales and my wife's cousin lives local. 1st impressions warm with a warm welcome, kitchen wasn't open but bar was gave ti.e for a chat. Food came along NOW here is the twist . We had duck . Fish and lamb . My Lamb dish was outstanding proper lush as was the other 2 dishes .only complaint is they're could be more but that's me enjoying it so much . Complement to the chef enjoyed it very much

A large group of work colleagues had dinner and drinks on a Thursday evening. The food was good and hot, the staff were friendly and helpful. Thanks to Kayleigh, Sophie and Alex for taking such good care of us.

The restaurant is a beautiful, panelled room designed for small groups and couples. The staff were always attentive and very knowledgeable. The wine and drinks choice to accompany was wide and varied, including non-alcoholic.
