I reviewed The Ley 2 months ago (5 star), but had to delete it to write this review (not sure why). We went for Sunday lunch to celebrate my friends 60th. And again it was superb.. we had the mushroom starter which was delicious, there were four of us and we had 3 of the roast's on offer, it was cooked perfectly, the roasties were lovely but my stand out element was the chicken ..tender & succulent..we had a side of cauli cheese.. the whole meal was 10/10, the bar has a very good local gin selection as well as other local brewers.. the service was very good (sorry never got the servers name) the pub itself is typically country but with a modern touch. Very enjoyable experience indeed, we will be coming back to try the evening menu again soon. 🙏🙏

Lovely food, excellent service, great value for money. Great for our family, pre-booked a table for 8, had a great get together before Christmas. Perfect meeting place to travel to from different areas. Lots of parking too.

Great pup with easy parking and great food. enjoyed the local ale 🍺 too.

Disappointed. Tea cakes looked lovely but were cold,served with frozen butter which we couldn't spread as it disintegrated into lumps. Cappucino horrible-scalding hot,milk over-worked and did not taste of coffee. Poor.

Very greasy food horrible coffee the waiter mark had dirty hands and clothes and the owner was aggressive and rude and didn't want to correct the issues

Stayed here for one nights B&B 12/1 Restaurant was closed for refurb which we knew beforehand Nice welcome, not very many staying so male receptionist did the bar too. Said it was closing early, 7:30, which wasn’t a problem for us as we had lunch at the Bridford Inn, Bridford (the best pub around) with friends. He came and asked if we wanted any more drinks prior to going off duty, which we did, although there was a duty manager on call on site. Room was very clean, bed comfortable and fluffy towels. Tea/Coffee making facilities in the room. Lovely bath and shower, hot water. Breakfast was great, all you can eat, fruit, cereals, yoghurts, ham cheeses and full English and other hot food. The full English was quality, and they had GF bread too. All staff friendly, place was warm despite being 2 degrees outside. Free parking, £15 for the dog but I think £17.50 max if you stayed longer. Was happy with that. Faultless

Awful, was expecting a really nice carvery as it used to be, the place has really gone downhill, I’m convinced all the food was yesterdays warmed up, 12:30 was our booking Meat was ok, that’s it, everything was so dry the cauliflower cheese was dried to the tin, only stumps left, the dauphinois were again stuck to the pan and dried out We were given the wrong wine, the lager was ok, we didn’t complain just paid our money, left and they won’t be seeing us again

A random pop-in following a recommendation, I got the bus from Exeter on a Friday lunchtime and enjoyed the best sausage and mash you could wish for. It came with a whole host of vegetables. Most impressive, and many thanks.

Amazing level of service from one of the ladies at The Ridge Café. I want to thank the member of staff who offered and brought out to the car park, our order to me and my two rescue dogs, one of which, new to us, is very nervous following traumatic times in recent years. It was raining but this lady absolutely wanted to do it, and the dogs were able to meet her - one was enthusiastic and the new boy just looked puzzled, probably wondering who was so kind to bring out this meal to us. It was great, gentle, exposure for ‘new boy’ and a highlight for me too. I’m sorry that I don’t have the lady’s name but she was so good, thank you!
